Finished today this is the first in a series. I really enjoyed it -

Thanks everyone! Just to explain a little. I have a non-cancerous tumor on my adrenal gland that causes my blood pressure to randomly skyrocket and plummet. I'm on many medications to control it and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. This is why I can only work occasionally, but have so much time to read!

Anyway, I don't usually talk about it, but I wanted to explain why I'm not okay one moment and then fine the next.

Leslie - I hope when you go to Mayo they are able to develop a medication plan for you that is more steady (if that makes sense). I'm sure it can be very frustrating for you.

Leslie - I hope you find something that works better for you. I will send prayers and good thoughts your way!! :)

The Captains vs. Team D Results

The results are in...

The Captains read 26 books AND Team D read 74 books.

Team D won by 11 books. Great job team!!

As a team, for the 10 days of the challenge, we read 100 books (98 unique). This totals almost 36,000 pages.

Chris and Leslie each read 11 books. Vi read the book with the most pages: Deadhouse Gates (960 pages!!) J.D. Robb and Karen Marie Moning were the most read authors.

I hope everyone had a much fun as Leslie, Vi and I did. Maybe we'll challenge you again sometime soon!

I am reading and Two very different books LOL!

We have a really sweet one that we just rescued earlier in August. We've always had large dogs so for me it a has been a little different.

I liked it :) . I was trying to communicate with my comment that this novel is "literary science fiction" rather than Star Wars and lasers (which I also like to read!)

My mom had a long hair standard dachsund named Paubet. She weighed close to 40 lbs.

Ours is tiny - weighs about 15ish lbs

@Rhonda- How are you liking John Corey? I LOVED his dry wit.

@Katie - I like him so far. I'm not quite halfway into Plum Island. There was a bit of a dry spell describing the island and it's procedures, security, etc., but I'm coming out of that now and the story is moving pretty quickly again.

@Leslie - I think I can relate to what you're going through. I have lupus and never know how I'm going to feel from day to day. Hard to plan things in advance! Keep your chin up - easier to see where you're going that way.

@Rhonda - I have an aunt who has Lupus and it is a very similar experience. She is such an inspiration to me. That is such a difficult illness. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

I finished this morning. I don't want to start anything new until tomorrow because of two team challenges I'm doing, so I will be working on books I've been slowly reading.

Absolutely not, Rhonda! All you have to do is post the cover of a book you've finished and let us know that it's been shelved as Mystery by at least 10 people. The contest runs through March 26th ( I think).

@Donna - I've read the first in that series and would like to get back to it. I like this author.

I've read a few mysteries this month. To save space I'll put what I've read to this point that qualify in this one post rather than several posts.

Just finished epic fantasy novel . Enjoyable; recommended for fans of epic fantasy. This book had been around my TBR for awhile, and the recent mini-challenge bumped it up to the top. (grey cover; author's name Ash). Finished it too late for the mini-challenge.

Almost done with ; and, about a third way through (which will count for mystery if I finish it in time)

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I just wanted to let you all know that your captains have not abandoned you! All 3 of us got tied up with RL at the same time. We are regrouping and are coming up with some ideas for the next few weeks.

We will be starting our mini challenges again this week and don't forget the Mystery challenge goes until March 26th.
