I have three books going at the moment. The Blade Itself (The First Law, #1) by Joe Abercrombie is my primary book right now. I'm reading Burnt Offerings by Robert Marasco for a buddy read. And slowly working my way through Blue World by Robert R. McCammon .

GeneralTHC I just started a literary fiction book that seems to be pretty good so far: The Childhood of Jesus by J.M. Coetzee

That's great to know because I've been meaning to pick it up. Looking forward to hearing what you think once you're done, Gregor. :)

Good. That will give me more time to catch up on the Harry Potter books.

message 213: by [deleted user] (new)

OMG! Forgot about those. Sorry Chuck, dang it! I can abandon something and get on the Harry Potter's if you want.

That's quite alright. I really, really, really need to get back to INFINITE JEST, ULYSSES and GRAVITY'S RAINBOW this month. Thanks very much, though.

message 215: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith . Yeah. Because I know its Rowling. (Btw, love Harry Potter!) Its okay so far but a little boring. I admit I don't read many mysteries but I miss the old days when detectives had to use good old fashioned foot work.

No seriously Chuck, I have totally lost interest in World War Z and I'm almost done with Killer Rumors. Just let me know. Once again, I do sincerely apologize. If you want to wait a while that is fine also.

Yeah, I would like to wait a while, if that's all right with you. But if you want to go ahead, I completely understand. :)

OK Chuck. Promise not to forget about this read. We will get to it. I loved the series so far. Just let me know when you get ready to start it.

Rachel the Book Harlot | 63 comments I just finished Child 44 (Leo Demidov, #1) by Tom Rob Smith . Really liked it--very intense, thought-provoking read. There were some instances towards the end that were somewhat far-fetched, but it did not affect my enjoyment of the novel. In any case, now I've started Hollow World by Michael J. Sullivan . Received an advance copy.

Alright, I wasn't going to say it, but I'm in a smart aleck mood this morning!

Simply go to the drugstore and buy a sleep mask! I'm not sure how you're actually going to be able to see the story that way, but perhaps you could put the book under your pillow and go for osmosis!

I know, I know - shut up and go back to my corner

GeneralTHC That was certainly different.

message 238: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 79 comments Chuck, I just read it too. I like the different writing style but, like I said in my review, I didn't there was much of a story. It was pretty choppy but I guess that's to be expected from Twitter.

Yeah, at first I didn't think it was going to work, but it was original, and I think he pulled it off.

GeneralTHC I'm reading Atonement by Ian McEwan today. Out of my six GR Buddies that have read it six have given it 5 stars. And I all ways see it on the "best of" lists.

message 242: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Started Flesh by Richard Laymon today. I always have to have a paperback read going along with my ebook read. Can't have any devices on at work, so my trusty "real" books come in handy when we have downtime.

I have that book. I knew it was highly rated but was hesitant to start. I saw so many copies on used bookstore shelves. I'm glad to hear somebody else heard good things. The lady that was arranging books on the shelves at the bookstore where I purchased it said it was a good one.

Dustin Currently 648 pages into A Storm of Swords, and 108 into Saint.

Patrick (patn76) | 60 comments I want to read that one but I think it's #3 in the series. I have to pick up the other 2 first.
