I will probably think of a few when the time comes.

message 255: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) awesome Alannah. Leslie and I are planning one for the end of March for Little Men. You guys are welcome to join us for that one.

message 256: by Gill (new)

Gill | 5719 comments Would anyone else like a readalong of The Deptford Trilogy later in the year? I'm asking now, because I have some spare credits with audible, so will use them to get the three books if others are interested

message 257: by John (new)

John Frankham (johnfrankham) Count me in, Gill, if it's a runner.

It sounds really interesting but I am afraid to add any more 700+ page reads to this year...

Don't tempt me ...

message 260: by Gill (new)

Gill | 5719 comments I'm intending to read Landscapes of the Metropolis of Death: Reflections on Memory and Imagination, at stage between now and the end of April. Is anyone interested in reading it? It's a short book, about 130 pages. However I'm sure there is a lot to discuss.

Gill, I would love to read The Deptford Trilogy: Fifth Business, The Manticore, and World of Wonders with you. Just name the date. I have my own copy of this and it will be a reread--something I don't normally do but for rare exceptions like this one. I have never known anyone who shares my passion for Davies, so this will be a real treat for me!

Unsurprisingly: me! ;) I fear however that I won't be able to manage before the end of April/beginning of May. If you want to read it before we can always exchange notes after!

That's great Terri, let me doublecheck with John, who was also interested. I wouldn't want to start till July or August. Would that suit you OK? I'll be using audio, so it might be quite a slow read/listen for me.

I've got this out of the library now. I expect I'll be able to renew it, in which case I can leave starting it until around April 20th.

Just to whet your appetite(!) Chapter 10 is entitled 'In search of history and memory'.

That's good. Mid-July suits John also, so that's the three of us sorted!

Diane S ☔ I would like to join this read. Mid July works for me as well.

Charbel (queez) | 2729 comments I'm planning to read The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins this month. Just wondering if anyone would like to join me?

message 274: by Jenny (new)

Great book Charbel, but I read it too recently to want to reread it just yet.

message 276: by Gökhan (new)

Gökhan (darkorder) | 41 comments @ Charbel

I have already started with that book. I'm a veeerry slow reader, so my progress is XI so far.

message 277: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Great novel, but I can't fit in a reread at the moment either - sorry Charbel! I think Tracey's only just read it, and it's one of Laura's favourites too if I remember rightly, so you'll have lots of us to compare notes with afterwards though :)

Bonita Charbel wrote: "I'm planning to read The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins this month. Just wondering if anyone would like to join me?"

It's on my "to read" list and I'm booting out some books I was planning to read so I would be interested in reading it.

message 279: by Pink (new)

Pink I'd love to join in with The Woman in White, but won't be able to squeeze it in until at least May/June as I have so much to read this month.

I am the same as Pink. If you don't mind waiting until then Charbel?

message 281: by Charbel (new)

Charbel (queez) | 2729 comments Not at all. I have exams so for now it might be better to stick with "smaller" books.

message 282: by [deleted user] (new)

A really great book. I will follow your discussion with interest but I've read fairly recently

Another readalong for October: Dhanaraj, Jean, Heather and I are planning to read The Sea, the Sea by Iris Murdoch this coming October.
Anyne else interested?
Jenny, can you write it on the "summing up" list?

message 299: by Roderick (new)

Roderick Vincent | 97 comments @Cathie, I've ordered it, so should be a week or so before I get it. Let me know.

I'm a "maybe" on "The Sea, the Sea" as October might be busy. It did win the Man Booker prize.
