Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments lol sorry. I don't want it to be too easy. I guess halftime maybe? so not necessarily the majority of the book would be fine.

message 252: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 205 comments I'd like to try this one out. I'm not necessarily a fast reader, but not extremely slow either. Depending on how long the game continues, school could be something that slows me down.

message 253: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 995 comments My game just finished, so I'd be happy to play again Zakiya. I'm in the middle pace-wise as well.

message 254: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I'm good with another game if anyone is interested. I read around 3 books a week once the holidays are over lol. Between now and Christmas more like two a week.

message 255: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 205 comments That'd be great! Would you like to post the Sign Up or shall I?

message 256: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 995 comments Either way is fine. I'm headed to bed, so if you get this message and want to sign us up, feel free. Otherwise I can do it in the morning.

Jenne would you like to join us? Though you read faster than me so you might smoke us. ;)

message 257: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I'm also up for another game if anyone is interested - I read between around 2 books a week.

message 258: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 995 comments Lauren do you want to join Zakiya and me? I haven't even started my first book yet. :)

message 259: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 205 comments Yeah you and/or Jenne totally could! I have no problem with that :)

message 260: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Just saw yalls invite Logan & Z thanks! I'm sure y'all are underway now :)

Lauren do you want to start a new game? I can do two instead of 3 easily.

message 261: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Darn! I didn't get the updates from this thread until today :0(

I'd love to join you for a game, Jenne. Do you want to start straight away?

message 262: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I'm game whenever you are Lauren.

*Nan* (nan4471) | 288 comments Kitten and I are going to sign up if anyone wants to play. We would love to have you join up.

Kitten ~♥️ MM series ~ (wineandbookme) 2 Questions:
1.What happens if you land on an unowned property but do not want to own it yourself. Is there still a required reading? Or do you roll again?

2. Are all property that have assigned shelves required to be used or can I use our own/teammates shelves a long as it relates to the title? ex: Re-reads?5 star from teammates as are group is primarily romance /smut.

message 266: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Kitten, thanks for the questions. If you don't want to own the property, then I guess roll again.

As far as the shelves, they have to be the assigned ones. Sometimes you might have to go deep to find a book you want to read at the time. I was just on a property where I went all the way to page 212 to find the book I felt like reading.

message 267: by Jennifer C. (new)

Jennifer C. | 1722 comments Or if you have a book in mind that you want to read you can look to see what genres it was filed under. Our team had been doing that a lot.

message 268: by Becca (last edited Jan 26, 2014 06:23PM) (new)

Becca (the_bec) | 748 comments I'd like to start a game if anyone is interested. I can usually manage a couple books a week, but I'm not a light-speed reader. Let me know if you're interested, :)

message 269: by Logan (last edited Jan 28, 2014 07:44PM) (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 995 comments Becca, it looks like you read about the same pace as me. If you want to join me and Zakiya, we've gotten off to a slow start and only have 3 properties owned between the two of us. You wouldn't be behind by much, but it's up to you. I could handle a second game if you want to start from scratch.

message 270: by Becca (new)

Becca (the_bec) | 748 comments Hi Logan! That sounds like fun, :) I don't mind either way. As long as Zakiya is okay with my jumping on board your game, that's fine. And I'm not concerned about property owning/winning, so it's okay, I'm just looking forward to the challenge, :)

message 271: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Just let me know if I should add Becca's name to the game thread. Go ahead and start playing if you decide to and I'll add Becca's name as soon as I'm able to.

message 272: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 995 comments That would be great Paris - thank you!

And Becca, come on over to our thread and roll. Zakiya was up for adding players before, so I don't think she'll mind at all. The more the merrier!

Thank you so much! I'm on my way, :p

message 274: by Belinda (new)

Belinda | 461 comments Hi Paris. Nika is unable to finish the game with Sarah & myself. What happens? Her properties are released and available again? If we've previously landed on one & read books to continue in can we retrospectively own that properties now? Thanks!

message 275: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments That's a great question Belinda. Either way works for me. We'll just use your game as precedent. What would you ladies prefer?

message 276: by Belinda (new)

Belinda | 461 comments I'll check with Sarah & get back to you :)

message 277: by Belinda (new)

Belinda | 461 comments Never mind. We've actually never landed on anything owned by Nika. I'll just open up Nika's properties but let me know what you decide. It is an interesting concept!

message 278: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments I think we'll just open up the properties and give them back to the bank for the remaining players to work towards.

message 279: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5307 comments Ok, as clever as i thought I was, bullying your friends to play doesn't work haha!
I have a game started with Sian and have moved and own 1 property but I think Sian has given up already. If anyone wants to jump on board a new game give me a shout.

message 282: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mooselover) Quick question.
I have just landed on a square where the shelf from which I need to choose my book is 1125 shelves long with over 56000 books on it.
In other groups when you click the bookshelf, it give you an search function which you can then click on , enter the book you are looking for and then you can edit to see on which shelves that book sits.
Obviously with that many shelves and books I cant do that. Is there an easy way to search for a book, or can I just add my book to the shelves I am only asking because I am doing a lot of challenges in the MM group and would try to link the challenges together and use a book for as many challenges as I can.

message 283: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5307 comments You can't do that Lisa I'm afraid, tried that myself when I first started on here haha.
Best thing to do is just trudge through I'm afraid. x

message 284: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments I don't think there is a search function but one thing I do is go to the books I want to read and do a find on each page of the shelves there to see if its listed on whatever shelf I'm having to pick from.

Did that make sense?

message 285: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5307 comments Hmm i didn't know about that one myself Paris, think it's because I'm on my phone and not a laptop. I've got the lovely task of trudging though hundreds of shelves lol.
I shall try that search feature on the browser though thanks.

message 286: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mooselover) Hi, Im really sorry but I dont have the time to trawel through 56000+ books lol. I might just have to take a chance and hope that my book is on there.

message 287: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Lisa if you go to your books page and then go to the right hand side where it says Genres on top and see top shelves on the bottom you can search there. Usually there isn't more than 30 pages on the popular books and you just do a control F search on each page for the shelf name. It doesn't take long and makes sure you know if your book is on that shelf.

Just make sure that you know exactly what the shelf is when doing the search.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Hey P, if you roll doubles to get out of jail do you move whatever you rolled to get out or a whole new roll?

If you roll doubles to get out of jail, I believe you use that roll to move.

message 291: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Paris for the inheritance card, would you consider a book you got through a gift card as given to you?

message 292: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Jenne wrote: "Paris for the inheritance card, would you consider a book you got through a gift card as given to you?"

I would. You had to get the gift card from someone right? I buy myself gift cards every time we get bonus or when I get my tax return as a gift to myself for working so hard.

message 293: by Greta (new)

Greta If you land on on a property that is already owned, then you read the required 2 books, do you then own the property? No, right? You just have been renting it out and the two books are the cost of landing on it but you don't own it, the first person does. Could you please clarify if I am understanding this correctly? Thanks!

message 294: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Yes Greta you're just renting it, it remains the owner's property throughout the game.

message 295: by Greta (new)

Greta Thanks, Jenne!

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5307 comments Hi Paris,
Just a quick one, I'm on a spot with the Book Club shelf, I've just discovered that searching by genre is sooo much easier than trowling through hundreds of shelves trying to find my book.
I have found my book on a Book-Club shelf and not just Book Club (No hyphen) would this still work at all (after all the shelf is still called bookshelf, just written differently) ??

message 297: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5307 comments okay yeah ignore everything I said lol.
Realised that GR automatically puts the hyphen in anyway derrr! !!

message 298: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments haha thanks Vicci. sorry you typed all that out. I was going to tell you that GR puts the hyphen in, but you beat me to it.

message 299: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5307 comments Lol I was at work (view spoiler) note to self. ...step away from GR and get on with my work!!!

message 300: by Greta (new)

Greta So I think what Vicci is saying is that if you have a book and see that it is shelved a certain way, then it would be on that list?

For example, I need to read 4 books on the Stand Alone shelf. I just read Red Country and see that it is shelved as Stand Alone by 3 people. It must be on that list then, right? I have spent 15 minutes checking that and there are hundreds of books that were shelved as Stand Alones 3 times.

Thanks for your help!
