speaking of stephen king, I quite enjoyed Salem's Lot...

Just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I'm not finished with Enduring Love yet but whoever said you couldn't read 2 at once?

I hit the library yesterday, I'm half way through the Reader--the August selection (just finished Time Traveler's Wife Yesterday. Coming up are The Miracles of Santo Fico, The Book Thief, The Camomile Lawn, Miss Garnet's Angel by Salley Vickers and On Agate Hill by Lee Smith...By then I'll be ready to tackle Drum of Autumn--vol 4 of the series by Diane Galbadon...I'm having such fun!

I loved Lucia Lucia, but not as much as my two Italian friends--one from MJ an the other from NY.

Oryx and Crake for some intense fiction (after i finish the one I'm working on now--maybe tonight!!)
And Then There Were None for easy fiction. My all-time favorite AC book, I actually want to reread and see how close my almost-10yo is to being ready for AC
The Omnivore's Dilemma is next up for nonfiction (I have another to finish first, though)

After I finish reading Winter in Madrid, the next book at the top of my list is Elizabeth Gaskell's Wives and Daughters. I've had it for a while now so I think the time is coming when I have to tackle it =)

I've been reading too many books not on my book blog reading challenges lately, so I need to correct that by next reading World Without End by Ken Follett. After that (or simultaneously, most likely), two group reads which I have copies of for quite a while now - The Road and Mistress of the Art of Death. After these I have to put in another classic for a Classics challenge; either Dracula, The Jungle, or The Idiot

I just finished The Reader by Bernhard Schlink. I am still slowly making my way through Gerald's Game by Stephen King. I may start The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova next!

I'm almost done with Something Wicked This Way Comes so next I'm going to be digging into The Throat by Peter Straub.

Kris, The Road is great. Dracula was one of our past group reads (you could check out the discussion folder once youve started reading it) and I own the Idiot, but havent read it yet. Good ole Dostoevsky!

OK, I need some help here.... other than mental.

I am wanting to read Christina Dodd's Storm of Visions. It's coming out tomorrow and it's the start of another series. Does anyone know if it's a spin-off of a series which should be read first, or can I safely start Storm of Visions and not be lost?

I have discovered ANNA KARINA on my bookshelve. It looks scary, but I have always wanted to read it. I might pick it up next...hmmmmmm.....

I just started Kindred by Octavia E. Butler! After that I have been advised to start Pride and Prejudice!

I'm about three quarters through Lady Killer by Lisa Scottoline. After that I think I'll be starting The Overlook by Michael Connelly or Bad Business by Robert Parker!

I am currently reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer and listening to The Christmas Train by David Baldacci, both to finish tasks for the summer challenge. The books that are next on my list are The Jane Austin Book Club, Tunnels, and Tangering (audio)

Currently reading Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner, but am taking a midway break from that to read Hidden Currents by Christine Feehan before I finish 'Angle' - it's a good story but I just need to put it on the back burner for a little bit.

I had a tough time getting through Angle of Repose. Not a big fan of that novel, by a long-shot!

I'm finishing up the Nightside books that I have [I haven't been able to find the 8th and the most recent one isn't in paperback yet! ahh! haha:]
And then I think I'm going to try and reread my favorite series from when I was a kid, the Anne of Green Gables series :P

When I've finished Cocktails for Three, I will read The Glass Castle.

Finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies yesterday. The "discussion" questions at the back were too funny! When they ask you to compare the zombie problem with marriage, I about fell out of my chair laughing!

I'm thinking my next books will continue with Troubleshooters.

But after that...Cheyenne McCray? Never read a thing by her.

my next book will be The Scarlet Letter or The Temptations of Big Bear

Right now I'm reading The Children of Men and The Picture of Dorian Gray... having a bit of a hard time getting through Dorian Gray, just because all the books that I've been reading are a little bit faster paced.... but they're both great.

Soon as I'm done with my current read, I'll be diving into The Hourglass of Souls by James Todd Cochrane.

Julie & julia is on my list next.

I can't decide on my next--either The Bell Jar, Kushiel's Dart or The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Thoughts, anyone?

Hey Ann from S.C - Go for it! My live book club read it 2 years ago. I loved it (get the edition with the "tree" in the front so you can keep track of everyone). I felt so accomplished after I read it !

Next up for me, after I finish The Reader, is the Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb. It's at the library waiting for me.

I only know two things when it comes to my reading list: i know what book i'm going to read after the one i'm reading now, and i also know that i don't know what i'll read after that!! right now, i'm reading catch-22, and after that i'm going to read the reader (that was fun to say). after that, it'll be between American Gods, The Gun Seller, To the Lighthouse, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, or Beat the Reaper A Novel. too many choices!!!

I am finishing MY ANTONIA, Symposium by Plato will follow, after which The Grapes of Wrath by Stainbeck and Doctor Zivago by Pasternak.

I gave up on Gerald's Game for now... Just couldn't get into it! I will pick it up again someday! Right now I am reading Pride and Prejudice and Birdwing. It will not take me long to read Birdwing and I am almost done with Pride and Prejudice. I think next I will start Heart-Shaped Box A Novel! Has anyone read it? Is it any good?

I am finishing up A Prayer For Owen Meaney. I will start Moby Dick. I have A Suitable Boy to start also. I want to find Julia Childs first cook book. I use to have it ,but was lost as so many of my books in moving. I want to buy The Nineteenth Wife for my to read list. All in all a productive summer .

I love Heart-Shaped Box! It's scary and fun aand a very good story.

you should definately read it! im going to re-read it, and the rest of the series, once the next one comes out in october!

I am reading the first in the Vampire Academy series and I am re-reading Utopia.

The Marked series is one of my favorite series. The first book was good but the writers get better with each book. The only downside?

Too many love interests. In the last book it gets ridiculous but I'm still excited to read their next book that is scheduled to come out on the 27th of October!

I read Vampire Academy and I loved it.

Next on my list is City of Glass and Catching Fire.

I read the City of Glass and the other two books in the series and I LOVED IT! Very funny and very fast paced. I think you'll love it. Very interesting.

I am currently reading Sailing Alone Around Room. Next I think is going to be The Count of Monte Cristo.
