I have the same to say to Popularandi. I haven't read The Glass Castle (yet) but I absolutely adored The Kite Runner

I envy anyone who is about to embark on the Monte Cristo ride. I really enjoyed that book. It became such a part of my life as I was reading it.

I am really looking forward to it. I am working on my overwhelming TBR pile. I really do have 3000+ books in the TBR file. I am reading the books that are on the first page of the list (first ones I added to my TBR. The one I'm reading now, Cocktails for Three, the next two are The Glass Castle and Kite Runner are all on the first page of my list. I have all of those books accounted for. I will read them one at a time, but will get through them quicker than I may think. I can't wait to read all of these books that I thought great enough to put in my TBR to begin with.

Is it weird that I really wish sleep was optional?
My next book will be either Outlander or The First Man in Rome. I can't decide.

I wish that allllll the time!!!! I always imagine science will come up with something that will shorten how much sleep the human body needs...that's what I wish for on my birthdays...oh wait, does telling my wish to my cyberfriends going to reverse my wish??? :\

Ha ha. I hope it doesn't reverse your wish. I always say that if I ever find a genie who can grant wishes the first one will be that I don't have to sleep, that my body doesn't need it but I can if I want. People think I'm crazy but I think its sounds awesome. You could have a full time job, go to school full time, watch movies and maybe finish Cynthia's Challenge. Hey wait, maybe Rosanne and the others who have finished the challenge have already found the genie.

I've totally tried planning out my day and night if I didn't have to sleep and let me tell ya...I have realized there still isn't enough time! lol.
Bhumi, I agree with you. Pillars was a great book but soooo long. I felt there was some material that could have been left out...but it was very good anyways.

My problem is that it's soo repetitive. Plus, I'm not really bonding with the characters...I don't know if i CARE about their story. I'll keeping plugging...
I'm currently reading The Time Traveler's Wife. Next on my list in no particular order:
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
1984 by George Orwell
Perfect by Judith McNaught
I also want to start Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris and Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty.

hmmm. Too bad. I also had trouble with The Constant Princess ... bor-ring. never got past about page 20. Like you, I've liked her others; sorry to hear The Other Queen might not be up to par either!

Now I came back to the group a couple of days ago and saw that The Time Traveler's Wife ist the months group read.... hm, maybe I'll buy that one and put it up as the next in line...

Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver
Alyson Noel's Evermore
Kelley Armstrong's The Summoning
Rachel Vincent's Pride
among many others.

I read that for my book club and wasn't a big fan.
