message 362: by Lianne (new)

Lianne (eclecticreading) Next book on my list will likely be Daniel Silva's The Confessor unless I feel like reading fantasy and thus turn to Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule =)

Be careful starting Marked because those books are addictive. I had to go out and buy them all and devour them. Have you read You Suck A Love Story by Christoper Moore? It's kind of a sequel to Blood Sucking Fiends but I read them out of order. Both are really good, but You Suck is hysterical.

Bunny (neonbunny) | 19 comments Lauren wrote: "Reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! May read The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner next!"

in the last couple of days, i've heard a lot of good things about The Red Necklace... it's on my amazon wishlist. i hope you like it!

i think my next book (once i finish the 5 or 6 i am reading concurrently) will be Life As We Knew It. i am in the mood for some nice YA lit.

message 367: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 220 comments Just starting The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner! Next up will probably be... Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides!

Christy Wrote: "Be careful starting Marked because those books are addictive. I had to go out and buy them all and devour them. Have you read You Suck A Love Story by Christoper Moore? It's...."

I figured that the Marked series would be addictive so i decided to start on something else.

No i haven't read You Suck by Christopher Moore yet though i think eventually i will read all of his books. I've only read a Dirty Job so far but absolutely loved it so i don't think after i finish (and start for that matter) Blood Sucking Fiends it will be too long beforfe i pick up another one of his.

message 369: by Lianne (new)

Lianne (eclecticreading) I'm debating at the moment what book to read next...there's Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice that I can re-read but I also got Irene Nemirovsky's All Our Worldly Goods today in the mail that I could start reading. There's also Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule that I could start reading but it's not high on my list because it's over 800+ pages long and considering the amount of research I have this semester, it might not be such a great idea...

message 370: by Robyn333 (new)

Robyn333 | 9 comments Hoping to start wolf Hall next but my book club needs me to read a book about a body part so I might have to fit in the heart of the matter by Graham Green before that one..

Alisha Marie (endlesswonderofreading) | 715 comments After I finish the book I'm currently reading, I'll have reached my 100th book this year which was my goal. So now I plan to pick up some of the fatter tomes on my shelves. Probably The Historian or The Pillars of the Earth.

message 373: by Carol (last edited Nov 07, 2009 09:28AM) (new)

Carol The Pillars of the Earth is one of the best books I have read. In fact I read it twice, in the 1980's and then again this year.

message 374: by Shona (new)

2) Shuttler Island - Dennis Lehane
3) Something Missing - Matthew Dicks
4) The 13th Tale - Diane Setterfield

6) Best Friends Forever - Jennifer Weiner
7) The Angel's Game - Carlos Zafon
8) Last Night in Montreal - Emily St. John Mandel
9) Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
10) Firefly Lane - Kristin Hannah

Then Comfort Food.

message 378: by Lianne (new)

Amy, welcome to the group. I see that you are new here, and may not realise that you are posting incorrectly. I noticed that you recommended a book in the "Promote your stuff here" thread, as well as here.

These are not recommendation threads. Are there books that you are planning to read next? This thread is for people to list the books that they plan to read ....

message 383: by Moody (new)

Moody Claire (singurl) | 88 comments I was in the bookstore to buy World without End by Ken Follett when I totally fell in love with just the cover and summary and idea of the novel "Certain Girls" by Jennifer Weiner and I thought I just had to have it so I needed to choose which to buy because I onlyhave money to afford one but both of their prices fit my budget. I couldn't let go of Certain girls so I have it.

Now, I nearly finish reading almost a crime by penny vincenzi because i need to for I really am looking forward to reading certain girls.

That's what's next in my list.

Certain Girls and After the kiss by Joan Johnson.

Jason Cook (rytr_1) | 211 comments I have rediscovered the joys of audiobooks. Listening to The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier at this very moment. (Great narration by Frank Muller.) Also borrowed John Lennon: The Life by Philip Norman on audio from the library.

I'm going to get through a lot more books this way. :)

message 386: by Julie (new)

Julie | 54 comments Right now I'm reading Splendorby Anna Godbersen, I'm enjoying the series a lot more then I expected to, depending on when I finish, it'll be either Shadowland or The Weight of Silence next. After these two i have to find a way to pick between The Angel's Game, Prophecy of the Sisters, or my first time reading Pride and Prejudice. All are preety different from eachother so it depends on what I feel like reading at the time. =)

message 388: by Chris (new)

Whenever I snap out of it and finish Death with Interruptions, I'll move on to Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, Vonnegut's Mother Night, or The Road by Cormac McCarthy...maybe. I've been quickly adding to my "to be consumed" stack, so there's a lot to choose from.

message 389: by Christy (new)

Christy | 181 comments When I finish Lamb The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore I plan to read Angle of Repose by Wallance Stenger. But I might fit in an Anita Blake book first.
