While I would encourage everyone to read like lightning, some of our drop might be differing tactics on assigning books by captains.
We don't get credit until we input two books for each task, so we've been holding back on entering some until we have optimal placement. We also get new tasks soon (the last set of picks), and we don't want to place bonuses before those are known.
Expect many teams to fluctuate wildly in the last days of the challenge.

Sorry, didn't see this. Tonight or tomorrow (we are waiting on the window to open). If anyone has any suggestions, we would love to hear them. Right now we are just thinking we might fill some of those obvious ship shaped holes and see what that gets us :)

Which was not good at all. Solid " would have been a DNF" territory."
Grah! I'm reading a "would have been a DNF" book too... I hope it's not catching....

Friday (early NA, late Asia/Aussie) is another round of 10 guesses for the board. We sank all our ships and don't have any leads... but we do have some conveniently ship-shaped holes so we'll be aiming at them. :D After that we will have one last round of 10 guesses, so hopefully we can still sink a lot of ships!
Like Rose said we have some books that we're holding in reserve to see if we can use them towards the new tasks. Once we commit them to squares expect our point total to go up and up. :)

Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens
Pages: 368
Date: 23/06/16
Read for: Shelved as YA

Disregard the speech bubbles at the top, we'll be using all ten of these as our guesses. I'll be straightening out the spreadsheet and firing these shots over the next hour or so, and I'll post an update as soon as I can. :)
~runs off to the spreadsheet with a slightly maniacal grin on her face~

That was very informative! We found a lot of places where ships aren't. :P We still got three hits and some new genres to play with - check out the goals post at the top of the page for details. Now I'm going to figure out the most advantageous way to enter our banked books so we get the most points... read like the wind, everyone!

LOL - always good to know where the ships aren't.... I think that's great to get another 3 hits - we have a lot of reading to do!!

Lory, absolutely no worries - (eta: different people) can read the same book as many times as we like. Which is a good thing because...

Bwahaha.

~sits next to Sam hoping the reading vibes will help break her slump~
;)
eta: This ended up working for historical, just what we needed, yea!

Prepare to have your reading slump lifted.... Oh, and buckle up - it's going to be a bumpy ride!!!

~puts her tray table into the upright position and gets a firm hold on her ereader~
Let's do this! :D

Oh no! My condolences to you and your family.

Tammie, so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine. I think we all say, take your time and don't worry about reading.

You guys are making me think I should go back and attempt Darkfever again. I tried to read it at one point, but the dialogue style in the first few chapters didn't click with me.

:( Sorry for your loss. Sending internet hugs and icecream

I had the same thought, the "ooo, not sure I like this first person narrative voice" thought. I'm pushing through for the moment because the story is getting interesting - I'll let you know how it goes!

I had the same thought, the "ooo, not sure I like this first person narrative..."
I normally also don't like first person narratives, but it's the action and witty dialogue between the characters that made this book a 4 star read for me (and continue with the series). I hope you enjoy it ...

That's excellent - keep just reading! More books directly equals more points. :)

This is just what my weekend needed! So cute.

Has anybody else read this book? ☺"
A friend had me read some Eddings but I never got into the Wheel of Time. How are you liking it?

The non-fic will be much appreciated! And Beautiful Disaster should count for all sorts of genres so read forth in confidence, hehe.
