CLARIFICATION:
*For audio books*: The print edition must be more than 100 pages long.
*For graphic novels*: must be more than 150 pages long.

For tasks like “a book published in August” or “a book with a cover that is more than 50% brown” it depends on the exact edition of the book you are reading so please make sure you add the correct version of the book to your shelf!
If the edition you are reading was published in January but some other edition was published in August then your book DOES NOT fulfil the task of “a book published in August”.

Okay. I just finished Bliss, but I'm going to change it to task 8. A book with chocolate/sweets on the cover instead of 9. A book with a baking scene which would be A Dash of Magic which I'm reading right now

Just to let y’all know, I’m also currently reading The Sea of Monsters for Task 12: a book with a cover that is 50% brown.

I had some things to do but now I continue with Under the Egg and then I'll read Heidi and see where that goes. If I finish both of them today we will have 5 points as Team 2 has. We have to beat them!

Yes, we do! I finished A Dash of Magic and now I'm reading Bite-Sized Magic which I'm not sure what task it works for, but I will see at the end.

Guys, I was thinking of something: After we finish a book we should write here about the other tasks that the book fulfills.

For example, the first book I read was Wishtree for the Goodreads nominee task (46), but it fulfills other tasks as well (if somebody else wants to read it):
-task 4 (A book with a character whose first name is also a flower): One of the characters has the name RosePetal);
-task 15 (A book with a protagonist who loves/likes animals): The protagonist is an oak tree named Red and he loves animals and animals love him as well, because they live inside him and they communicate a lot as a family.
-task 18 (A book with a character that can fly): The second character is a crow named Bongo and she is Red's best friend.
-task 42 (A book with a character who moves to a new home/school): Samar is a Muslim human girl that just moved in a new home (where Red is) with her family and also to a new school.

Current-Read: Under the Egg. What tasks it fulfills until now:
-task 30: A book with a protagonist who is a sleuth/detective;
-task 39: A book with a protagonist who has an absentee dad;
-task 42: A book with a character who moves to a new home/school.

We should try to finish categories 1, 2 or 7 because we have a head start on them already, but we can read from the other ones at the same time as well so we have somewhere to go from. How does that sound?

Also, I just finished by Laura Marx Fitzgerald.

It covers a few categories:

It's 3:31 a.m. here and this book was sooo good that I lost all the need for sleep. I need to read more!

Hey everyone! So I finished my first book (finally!) for task 27. I've started City of Ghosts for task 7.

Great! I finished my 3rd book, Heidi for task 29 (a character who gets grounded).

Guys! We are still 2 books behind Team 2, and if they finish a category, we are doomed! We all have to organize in here and try to decide what books to read next so we can finish a category also!

So categories 2 and 5 have 2 books finished each. So let's try and focus on these.

In Category 2 we have to read tasks 10,11,12,13 and 14.
In Category 5 we have to read tasks 31,32,33,34 and 35.

Can we do it? What can everyone read for these?

I can read the book for task 34

I will go to the library tomorrow and borrow a few books to read.

So based on our Google Docs spreadsheet for the second category, Zaiyah wants to read task 11 (It wasn't me), Jessica wants to read "The sea of monsters" for task 12, Shravani - A wrinkle in time - for task 13, Elizabeth "11 birthdays" for task 10 and "A tale dark and grimm" for 14, so I thought of trying to read something for task 10 (a book with a birthday scene) if that's okay with you all. If we read these, we can finish a category and get 5 additional points.

Sorry if I put pressure or something, but I really think that we can win together! I love this team and I have faith that we can beat everyone, even if Team Coraline is ahead. We can do this if we organize! :*

And I also have another idea as well: if you are currently reading or starting something and at the end it fulfils for a challenge in either categories 2 or 5, you/we can put it in one of those so we can finish them faster.

What do you say about that? Would that be okay? We can help each other because we are a team, and a really great one! So let's do this!

Good plan! Sorry, I haven't been on here all day but I just finished Bite-Sized Magic which works for 33. A book with a character who uses a magnifying glass or 41. A book that is the last in a series

I would need to go to the library, but both Up for Air and It Wasn't Me are ready! i'll see if I can go and then I'll read them as fast as I can. We can do this, team!!!

Jessica, I hope you won’t mind, but I want to read The Bad beginning by Lemony Snicket for a book published in the 90’s. I just took it from the library. So we can finish also the second category.

yah, that’s totally fine. i also want to apologize for not being on here much, and i also wanted to let y’all know the past couple days i haven’t had much reading time at all. but i promise I’m still making my way through the books, and on wednesday i’ll be able to be back to speed-reading them.

Hey, it’s okay! Everyone reads in their own pace. We are still a great team and we can definitely win! If we concentrate to complete categories 2 and 5 we can have 10 additional points and beat team 2. 💪🏻

Of course! I'm back home now and I want to continue reading (The viking's treasure) and see in which category it fits.

Also, I started reading today and it fits multiple tasks. I can't wait to finish these and then read and maybe we will finish at least one category.

Team 2 has one more book for the first category and then they'll get 5 additional points (that means they'll have 18 points). We have to hurry and stay at least behind them if not in front of them. I still think we can beat them! :)) I am very faithful!

I just finished It Wasn't Me and I think it works for task 11 or task 31. I should do 31 because it's in category 5, right?

Now I'm reading Halfway Normal and I think it might work for task 6 and I thought it would work for task 37, but now I'm not quite so sure, so we need to find another one for that

I read Ollie Oxley and the Ghost and I'm hoping that this one will fit the task 32. I'll see when I'll finish it. I'm 32% into the book and it goes fast.

It says "2 characters who break into 2 or more places..." and in the first Harry Potter books there are 3 characters that do this: Harry, Ron and Hermione.

already had a scene where the 2 characters were in a place they weren't suppossed to be. One more, and task 32 is ours.
