Yes. :)) I hope it's okay, though. You can still use the book for another task, like the one with a birthday scene (Harry's birthday when he meets Hagrid, or Dudley's when they go to the zoo at the beginning), and we can also get close on finishing category 2.

But we can beat them for sure!

Yep, it's totally fine!
I think I'll start Fantastic Beasts - The Crimes of Grindelwald: The Original Screenplay for Task 11: A book published in November of any year
Does anyone have any other ideas for this task?

I personally don't.
Update: I'm 65% into Ollie Oxley.

I'm 83% into the book. I'll finish it after I go to my friend's birthday. And we would have the 5th category completed.
Then I'll start The bad beginning by Lemony Snicket for task 13, so we can get closer to also finish category 2.

Also, I finished The Fourteenth Goldfish So I guess I'll see what those ones work with

Good job Zaiyah!! We can win this!

Jessica, can you ask Kadi why?

Anyway, I'm reading The Candymakers for task 48 (our namesake is my favourite character in that book). We're in the lead!! (if the points get added) Let's keep it up!

Next I'm going to read The Girl Who Drank the Moon for task 47
I was reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for task 10 but since that's already finished by Zaiyah I'll continue the book for task 45

Also, the 5 bonus points for finishing a category added up. For the little table on the right that says points, there's a section that says "Categories Complete". I just put a 1 there and it added our 5 bonus points!

I think it's a little bit more than 50% brown, but it's debatable. Maybe you could use it for another task just to be safe.

Honestly, I don't think is is, because even though the brown and blue seem equal, there is that yellow title on the brown so that makes the brown less than 50% :(. But it's okay, we will find something else.

I'm so excited!

Do y'all think it's a good fit for task 45 (A book with a character who wins a prize/award/medal)? Or should i add it in for task 42 (A book with a character who moves to a new home/school)?

You can add it to task 45, because there are a lot more possibilities on task 42, if that's okay.

Zaiyah, is it cool if I read Echo for task 2? I know you said you had it too, so I wanted to check.

On Friday, I'm heading to the library to get some books and then I'll have:
Echo for Task 2: A book where the protagonist gets lost
The Elite for Task 36: A book that is a sequel
Coraline for Task 42: A book with a character who moves to a new home / school
I just wanted to make sure it doesn't over cross with other people's plans?

Nope, sounds good Jessica.

I never started it for any of the tasks."
Oh, sorry. I must be seeing things. Probably comes from never wearing my glasses

I’m sure I can find other tasks as well.

that totally works. i can save The Elite for later in that grouping and if yours doesn't seem to fit in a different task we can use yours for the sequel since you're already reading it right now.

I just went to the library and took The Giver by Lois Lowry for task 43 I guess, the book that won the Newbery Medal in any year.

So I just took The Giver from the library, but the translated edition is red. It's this one:

And I wanted to know if I can read it for the task 24: a book with a red cover. Even though the original cover is brown.

I initially took this book for task 43 but Elizabeth already started a book for that task so I wanted to use it for a different task. I'll see what other tasks it fulfils and I'll use it for one that could help us advance, because team 2 has the same points as we do.

Gotcha. Sounds good. And I can see what else Ghost Boys fits in with as well when I get to it, and we can play around with which book we want where.
But yah, team 2 is right up there with us. I have faith in us though.

Me too! We can do it! And yeah, we will handle with the tasks.

I'm now starting The Sword of Summer for Task 5, and will probably also start Wonder for Task 28, unless someone else had already started reading something for those?

No, sounds good.

Can we repeat books though? The rules say 1 book can fulfill 1 task only. Since Wonder was already read for Task 49, can we read it for another task?

One person cannot read the same book for different tasks, but anyone can read the same book for different tasks, if this makes sense.

Oh, my bad! I thought it required 2 characters to do the breaking in so it wouldn't matter if the total was more than 2. Do i make sense? 😅
