Preston | 20148 comments Where's the moderator we need a ruling here!

message 252: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I have a ruler handy, if that would help.

Marcie | 7096 comments Ok. Me. Iz. Con-few-ooze. *scratching top of head* I picked #3...

message 254: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments Roger: Btw, thanks for sharing the pic w/us!

message 255: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments That's OK Marcie!

I stand by 1) and 2) being true and 3) the lie as I'm only a half-Scot not a whole one, if you know what I mean, so that means it's your turn…

MARCIE!

message 256: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments You deny you are Scottish? Back when the Scottish Independence vote you was happening proclaimed you were a Scotsman who was being denied his vote. Remember?

The statement did not say you were wholly Sottish just that you were Scottish so you can say "I'm half Scottish on my father's side, so not wholly Scottish…"is a lie because you didn't claim to be wholly just Scottish.

I guess by your way of thinking that means the President of the US is not African-American because it's only on his father's side!

message 257: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments It's Marcies' turn :-)

message 258: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments @ Preston Over the independence vote I said I was being denied my half vote… besides, as you know, it's not me who has the vote when it comes to voting :-)

Absinthe 1

message 265: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments you are very welcom, kit!

if #2 was true you and my daughter would get along sooo good. half of her comebacks are w/lyrics or movie quotes. the other day she responded with the lyrics from foreigner.

...i'm gonna have to go w/#3.

message 266: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I think 3 as well, although the exercise ball could be for Zeke…?

message 267: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Y'all wrong as Jeff might say.

1. TRUE I do have a triangular flag case with an American flag in it. As is traditional for a veteran, it was used in the funeral of a family member who was a US Marine who fought in WWII making the world safe for Roger Kean and his fellow anglo-Scotsmen of which he is so loath to call his own.

2. LIE I don't know all the words to even one LP or CD.

3. TRUE The dining room is the only room downstairs with space for it. The ball is more than twice the height of Zeke so he doesn't go anywhere near it.

In a heartwarming gesture, I give my turn to Kit because her turn went so quickly 22 hours ago.

message 268: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe lol Preston! You really don't have to

1. My favorite character in Lord of the Rings is Legolas
2. I have a pittbull/rotweiler mix

message 271: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 1 is the lie, my favorite character is Elrond
2. Her name is Penelope (I tried to talk them into naming her son Telemachus, but they didn't get the reference)
3. I do love cooking, I just don't do it very often/am too tired to do so

Roger, I'm making it your turn

message 272: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments 1) I once spoke in what most Brits consider the worst accent in the land.

2) I won the "Mister HIM Muscles" award at London's gay club Heaven two years in a row.

3) A company I worked for published the world's first all-color magazine produced entirely on the desktop from Apple Macintosh computers.

message 274: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments How cruel, Kit :-)) Let's see what others think.

message 275: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments i will go with...um, number 3.

message 276: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I will answer later after Preston has cast a vote :-)

message 277: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments 1. It is true but he's almost understandable now.
2. I can't stop laughing.
3. yep Roger was an Apple guy even way back when Steve Jobs was building them in his garage.

message 278: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe Does that mean I win?

message 279: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Not until Roger verifies it and I stop laughing :D

message 280: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Harrumph, I'm not sure what's so funny… but yes, Kit, you win! I was always far too shy to show of my magnificent physique, I left that to Oliver to do. You only had to snap finger and thumb and he'd be up on stage or down in the mud wrestling, so 2) is the lie.

I was born and for my first seven years bred in Birmingham, which most other British consider to have the most ugly accent, though in recent years Brummie has become more popular for some strange reason.

My company Newsfield produced an issue of The Games Machine in full-color throughout, all scanned, written, and imageset to printer's film from Macintosh II computers, HP Scanjet scanners and an Agfa high-resolution film recorder in 1987. The first ever.

OK Preston, you can stop laughing now.

message 290: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 3

message 291: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments # 1 (for variety!)

message 292: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments

#1) I think spiders are great because they get rid of the nasty insects. Besides ever since reading Charlotte's Web I could never harm a spider. Poor Charlotte and she was so generous and loving. So #1 is the lie.

#2) I didn't even know they had an Asian Studies Award but I got it.

#3) I bought a plot and plaque in a local cemetery where ancestors on my mothers side of the family chill because it was on sale for half price ! I can't resist a sale <-grin->. On my father's side of the family in another cemetery where President Chester Arthur is planted there are two sections with multiple family plots and I'm the only one left to use them because everyone else moved away from northeast so they could live a life of fun in the sun out west. Anyway I decided I wanted cremation (not yet but when the time comes.) So I have three places to rot in and I won't use any of them. Way more than you wanted to know but I think it's funny :D

Congratulations Mr. Roger Michael Kean you are a winner!

message 293: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments you're adorable, bro :)

looks like i'll have time to head to my son's baseball game since it'll be a while before roger lies to us :) see ya soon my complainers.

message 294: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Thank you Mr. Preston Q. Hunter, I'll take it away…

1) As a child my playground was a castle moat

2) I live a few miles from a Norman castle that was built 16 years before the Normans came to England

3) Excluding baby rompers, I've never worn long pants

message 295: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments #3

message 296: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 2 because its probably something like it was built 14 years before

message 297: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments 1.

message 298: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments 1) is true, a few yards from my parent's prefab (all gone now) there was Hob's Moat wood, all that's left of the castle is the polygonal moat we kids played in…

The red rectangle indicates where my home (No. 8 Bluebell Lane) would have been.

2) is true as well, Richard's Castle was built by a Norman before the Conquest: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard&...

3) Ought to be true, but sadly there was a period at school when I had to spend classroom time in a suit with long pants. And of course there were the baby rompers…

So Marcie won this round by correctly identifying The Lie!

message 299: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 1. I grew up in the country
2. I had a husky named Hamlet when I was 4
3. My first kiss was with a boy
