The Hobbit...for some reason, it was just too slow for me. The plot is good, but I kept abandoning it in the middle. It just didn't work out.

The Magisterium series. They were just... disappointment. Not disappointing. Disappointment.

Oh same here!! I read the Hobbit at the beginning of this month and it was just so slow!!! Humorous with great plot but wayyyy tooo slowww!!!

I know right!

Infinity Son by Adam Silvera. I expected so much more from that book.

Girls of Paper and fire

The Ember in the Ashes series. I forced myself through the first 3, and I'll finish the 4th, but I'm not a fan. The 2nd and 3rd Darker Shade of Magic books were also let downs to me after the first was so good.

I didn't enjoy Six of Crows either, I actually had to stop reading it. :( I had such high hopes too.

I completely agree with you on all accounts!

There are many for me, a lot already mentioned. But another one that comes to mind is Hunger Games. The books got worse as they went. I also never got into Fablehaven or Divergent at all.

Twilight. I know some people adore the characters and story plot, but I found it really boring and I have read many more interesting vampire books.

The relentless trilogy because eventually the story goes bit off topic and focuses a lot on Sara and Nikolas (and that's not a bad thing!) But lot of the focus is on them and loses track of the main story in the books but it is still a good series however the shift away from the main plot kinda ruined it.

The Cruel Prince series -
I just don't get the hype and it wasn't that good

I have honestly never been able to get myself into an SJM book. Her books seem very widely praised but none of them really grabbed me by the throat with enjoyment.

Ik Six of Crows has a bit of a slow start but I honestly rlly rlly enjoyed it! It's one of my favorites, but ig it's not for everyone. I personally think the slow start helps to introduce the characters. And I think Harry Potter gives a feel of nostalgia to most people, which is why its so popular now. I've been planning to reread it to see why I ended up loving it in the first place, cause I kinda did lose interest. So I'll see what I think about it after that reread!

Warcross!!! I'm reading it right NOW. It started out great like AMAZING. But now? Not so much. Lost interest. It's like "well, this is gonna happen, bruhh" and it did. I can predict the story and I don't like a story which I can predict. So dissapointed.

It wasn't as amazing as people made it out to be, so I just felt disappointed. I'm used to reading books with plot twists so this felt...lacking. Also, I felt like the characters were totally unrealistic. I don't know anybody who talks like Hazel or Gus... what I mean is teenagers don't talk like that. I just didn't feel...immersed... with the characters he created and I didn't see them as beings and characters on their own. I saw them as a part of John Green's writing, and nothing more, if that makes sense.

I know right? It's seems like all her books are pretty similar.

I agree. My best friends persuaded me to read twilight, and she fell in love with Edward from the first book. I just sat there in the corner looking at the wall trying to understand why Bella is so stupid to believe it is love when a person is trying to kill you. Like WHY.

Probably Purple Hibiscus. I expected it to be more fun and I teresting but all the violence was too much and the way adichie showed catholisity, was as a violent religion which is not because I'm a Christian myself and I know what u do when u love God

The Last Magician. It was soo boring and I almost didn't finish it

Shatter Me! I had so much hopes that I would like it but the storyline had no proper foundation and the characters were ugh!!

this is so true, specially the fault in our stars it was so cliche and it didnt even make me cry

For some reason many books that came out his year hav been terrible: majesty, the betrothed, and a heart so fierce and broken were not it

heartless by Marissa Meyer. I had so high hopes for this book, but it turned that I was wrong

Currently reading Spin the Dawn - what the hell this is the biggest case of false advertising ever. So disappointed as I had very high hopes and was sure I was going to love it. Honestly first and second halves are two completely different books.

I loved shadow and bone but after that
seige and storm and rage and ruin were pretty disappointing.

Gideon the Ninth - The cover was attractive but the book itself was very disappointing.

All the bright places.

Truly Devious. It was like looking in a mirror after buying a dress that looked BOMB at the store and then trying it on and all of a sudden, you look like a drenched banana peel covered in lumps. My expectations were up THERE, I even read the rest of the series and now, said expectations are chilling with Acheron. Thank you so VERY much. Entertaining? Yes. Worthwhile, as in would re-read all over again? Sadly, it's a no from me. NEXT CONTESTANT!

Oh my goodness, that book is on my TBR!

Probably After, I mean obviously I expected more because my friend is kind of obsessed with them. Also as a big Harry Potter fan, Harry Potter and the cursed child wasn’t what I was expecting.
