Jade gave a hard stare at Penelope.
"I didn't ask for you to intervene either. Ian gave good advice, now leave him be. If it weren't for him, I'd still be riled up." He stopped then added. " Oh wait..I still am..at you. Now back off please." He took a deep breath, and calmed.

Penelope looked at Jade, “I didn’t even intervene. I was just talking to Ian and trying to help. Guess I didn’t.” She stood up and walked away before she exploded with anger.
Jade bit back a sarcastic response.
Penelope walked back and took a breath, “Ok, I’m sorry. Um..Jade and Ian. I’m..yeah..sorry. Sorry, I’m not good at this.” She laughed nervously and looked at the floor.

Penelope smiled at Ian, glad he forgave her. She turned to Jade and nodded, “The girl I thought I killed. Apparently she’s alive.”

Penelope burst into laughter, “So, is Ryenna your girlfriend?”
Penelope tried not to laugh at this, “Yes.”
Penelope nodded, “Nice. Is she pretty?”
“Maybe. I haven’t been introduced to many people. What color hair does she have? Then maybe I might remember?”
Penelope shrugged, “Maybe…no…well…I think I have. Before I went to explore with Inara. Before I that girl attacked me.” She went silent.
"Ian, you're girl sounds pretty nice. We'll find her."
Veronica had been watching the whole exchange silently. Ian was right. She wasn't used to guys like Jade and it frustrated her.
“Yeah, I’ll help. It’s getting boring just sitting here, anyway.”
Jade looked at veronica.

Veronica nodded. "Sure." She walked quickly into the next room without looking back. She loved Jade, but she..just needed some time.
Jade thought about following her, but wasn't sure. Everything was going fine, until it wasn't.

Jade left the room, and looked around for where Veronica may have gone.

"Yeah?" she whispered back. She was sitting in a corner, cleaning her silver knives.

She half smiled, but it vanished quickly. "Just, preparing."

Penelope watched Jade go and sighed, “Well, should get ready to go find…what was her name?…oh, yes Ryenna.”
“I don’t know,” Penelope shrugged. “I wasn’t paying my attention.”

Jade wasn't sure if he should leave her because he was getting angry, or to stay and try to talk it out. He chose the latter.
He stood up, pulling her up with him. He could feel her resist, but she still stood. He wrapped her into a hug.
"You're not fine. What is it that I did? I don't want us to be at odds the whole time."
