Okay sounds good, just didn’t want y’all to think I wasn’t reading! :-)
I shouldn’t be finishing my current reads too far behind the start of this one!

I appreciate all the work mods put in on all these amazing and fun challenges, and those reasons make sense too!

I totally agree—it feels like a luxury to type with a keyboard and have more than one window open at once on my screen when I get to use a computer 😂

These are ALL books on my TBR I’m dying to read. Ugh, why do I want to read everything all at once? *Sigh*

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I also have one that has the letters of HYMN in the title, just in case
The one I thought might have an instrument doesn't, is has records.

I'll keep an eye out for a poetry quote or dancing. I often don't find that out until I am actively reading the books. I do tend to read a lot when not in a slump, so there is a good chance I will be able to fill in anything that's left.

I know! It's impossible to choose what to read and then someone mentions something new and tbr is longer than ever.

Finding things while reading is the only way with some tasks. Feel free to move things by changing the mini code until we have the boxes checked at the end of the row it's on.

Mia Anti | 158 comments I’ve updated the spreadsheet with the books I’ll read. Hope I did it right 😂

Devann (devannm) | 2778 comments just popping in to say that i am in fact still here even though i'm quiet lol i don't generally claim tasks in group challenges before i start reading bc i'm super picky and end up DNFing a lot of stuff [although i have a rule of reading it for 10 minutes or listening for 30 and then deciding so it doesn't turn into a huge time sink] but i'm sure i can fill in some tasks as i go or at least go for the spell it out options

edit: i know it's a month away but i'll definitely be reading the witch's heart though since it was one of my top books of last year

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments Hmmm... looks like Book of Cold Cases got moved up for the print copy as my account now shows it as "in transit." I could end up with it as early as Monday. YAY!

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I just noticed that I lose 2 days of a read-a-thon over at AMMP by waiting to read for TT. I need to find some children's books, manga/graphic novels, and short novellas to fill up those days. Over the 10 days of the r-a-t, I have the hope of reading at least 5000 pages and 21+ items. Time to raid the shelves!

message 262: by JL (new)

JL Roberts (jlroberts) | 76 comments If no one has claimed it I will also claim mini #83 Dancing in the book. I'm reading a series where the characters actually go to a dance academy and by the time the challenge starts I will be on the last book in the series.

No worries at all! I often just add the book I'm currently reading. It's unusual that I have this bumber waiting from the library. There are lots of spell out options that can be used as we go.

Wow thats a lot of reading! So long as you can finish a nirmal book in those 2 days (which wouldn’t surprise me with those numbers), don't feel you have to hold back because of this. Think marathon here, not sprint!

The good thing about the read-a-thon at AMMP is that anything listed on GR counts, so I can read comics and children's books as well as regular adult novels, etc. Once the TT starts, I can probably get through 2 novels in a day if I have access to an audio version. I currently have 15 books checked out from the library and a huge stack requested that are likely to come in on either Monday or Thursday next week, so I have plenty to keep me busy. :-) The last r-a-t we did I managed to complete all tasks and read over 7000 pages in the 10 days. I don't think I'll go that crazy this time though, but the 5000+ page task is always a goal.

Same here. Currently re-reading one of my favourite manga series when I was a teenager. I'm not starting any full length novels over the weekend either (will watch Eurovision tomorrow anyway and I think I'm having a throat infection and I'm so annoyed by it).

We don't get Eurovision here in the States. I do know that a band I like (The Rasmus) is in the competition. I hope they do well.

You're going on vacation, right? If you are, do tell us where all you're going to be visiting!

On another note, has anyone here read the Heartstopper series? It's all over my GR and YouTube feeds - it's basically haunting me at this rate.

Insiyah (insiyahxo) | 609 comments I'm a little confused, because it's also a webtoon, so is the novel the same as the webtoon? Because that would be really easy to read rather than having to track down a copy.

Melissa in one of the other teams has written this haiku as part of a prechallenge activity one of the other groups has going on:

My book is finished
Now I stare at the countdown
Better than housework

Sponsored by the Achilles poetry contest :)

If you feel so inspired, I'd love to see your efforts!

Here's my free puppy advice:

I'm a public librarian. Puppies LOVE library books. My theory is that they can smell other people and dogs...but they really do love to eat library books even when they don't bother your other ones. So keep them up high. 😉
Enjoy your new puppy!

I’m about to finish one today that I thought would take me longer into the challenge! So only my audiobook will hold me up.

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I spent yesterday listening to a bunch of short works (under 100 pages) on Audible so that I could clear them off of my Kindle. Still managed 500 pages. Now I am just waiting for the start to be official before diving into something longer.
