Chronicler is perhaps tuned to believe in supermen and he dismisses the idea of demons , something similar in how certain people believe in God but not in ghosts.
Other than that explanation, I don;t know why
Or perhaps Chronicler has met people who had personally known Kvothe.
Another thing would be the human foible of believing what we are asked not to believe and vice versa.

They all were described beautifully, and they seemed related to kote's life. Things absent from his life, stories and whispers he left behind, and his current life.

2. The description of a Scrael is very dark and scary. What do you think of the attacks associated with it?

too early to say anything, i am waiting for more.

3. What do you think of the relation between Kote and Bast as teacher and students and as two friends running an inn?

Bast seems to know Kote's true strength, he respect him in his own way.

4. “All the scars were smooth and silver, streaking him like lightning, like line of gentle remembering.”



Kote’s shown as a silent person always doing his work in the inn but his scars tell a different story. What do you think of this contrast between the two personalities and behavior?

it hints for intriguing back story.

5. What do you think of the meeting between Kote and Chronicler and their different thoughts on demons?

Kote has seen demons so he knows their real threat but to Chronicler, they are just folk tales of past.

Chronicler is a minstrel/troubadour whatever. Kvothe he knows, for a fact, is real. He's seen him with his own eyes and he ain't never seen a demon, xept for the scrael and he don't wanna believe in those, cuz it's just easier to ignore that horrible awful truth, like PSmith says.
Kvothe and the legends surrounding him are (relatively speaking) easier truths that Chronicler can wrap his mind around. (hide spoiler)]

They were members of a troupe and Kote is a mysterious innkeeper and is more than he seems to be. What do you think about the difference between Kote and his parents and his relation with them?

They were described as perfect parents. Kote is the narrator, and in a child's eye their parents are always perfect. so can't say much about it.


4. Do you like Kote as the narrator of his own story?

In that part, his blue eyes are described very nicely(and this part was towards the end) and in the whole book, it was always said his eyes changed colour..... Okay, got what you said..... but..... see, When Chronicler first met Kvothe (when they had that discussion about demons).... Chronicler just saw a red head rather than Kvothe, right? :)

So, my question now is, do you think Chronicler would have believed that demons existed if he had known that the person who is trying to convince him that they do exist is Kvothe, himself and and not just mere someone else ????

It was so scientifically described that I am almost sure that it's real. The bonding, chemistry etc. And especially the part where Kvothe tries to control the wind and is hurt in turn. It was scary and sort of real.
I just love this book; it is making the impossible seem possible.

I liked their teacher-student relationship. It was something transgressing formal. Abenthy was more like teacher-guardian, and tried to teach Kvothe by experience, logical thinking and reasoning, rather than just blurting out facts. Their teaching learning had a structureless structure and format. And they were more passionate in their relationship, getting emotionally hurt if the other person says/does something. Or that's what I thought, though now I am unable to pinpoint incidents, except perhaps the wind thing.

I was really slow while reading NoTW.. I wanted to absorb every bit of it, and that couldn't happen if I ran, because I tend to skip a lot sometimes. :P
