And drat on you for stealing that one, I'd been planning to do it later. Luckily I have a few others I'm still working on.

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments 1-24,26-35,37-39,41 have been correctly guessed. Next un-used number is #42

Currently un-guessed:

25) Single mom gets job in male-dominated field, is chosen for a special assignment.

36) Surrogate mother emigrates, because of unborn child.

40) Victorian era student becomes servant

Kitty | 320 comments 40 victorian student turned servant a room in the attic. A friend changes her fortune the magic has come. Shes the purloined letter.

message 378: by Justanotherbiblophile (last edited Jun 26, 2015 09:19AM) (new)

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Umm, are you missing some commas (or words, or other punctuation)? Those sentences seem quite disjointed.

Also, I like to give people at least 24 hours before adding additional clues. Not everyone is checking this thread all the time :D That's not a (previously unwritten) rule of the game, but merely something to consider.

eg: I would've gotten #39 from message 370, but 20m later you added even more details.

To re-purpose another piece of advice: Sometimes doing it slower is faster.

Kitty | 320 comments 40 victorian student turned servant a room in the attic. A friend changes her fortune, the magic has come. She is the purloined letter. better? I didn't sleep last night so any mistakes are due to sleepiness

message 380: by Justanotherbiblophile (last edited Jun 26, 2015 09:25AM) (new)

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments I'm having trouble with "turned servant a room".

"student turned servant" is a good sentence fragment.
"a room in the attic" is a good sentence fragment.

But, I'm not sure how they go together.

"her fortune, the magic" is rather rough, but since this is a guessing game, perhaps that rough construction is due to limitations in not giving stuff away?

Also, edited my prior message (in case you missed it, sleep-dep and all).

Kitty | 320 comments Last edit for today 40 victorian student is made a servant. She was once as rich as royalty now almost a slave. A mystery items appear in her room, she thinks its magic. A man looks all over europe for her shes right next door

Or maybe the next day. Sigh.

42. Inspired by the most famous kidnapping of the time. Many hands make light work.

That's probably too easy, but I can't think of anything else that isn't too obscure.

message 391: by Justanotherbiblophile (last edited Jul 01, 2015 06:17PM) (new)

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Yup. I think theme park is what really gave it away. Rewriting it will be super hard, as it's going to be top of most people's minds now...

How was the movie?

Doesn't hurt to try. Go ahead.

No one ever guessed. In case someone comes looking, it was "Murder on the Orient Express" by Agatha Christie. Inspired by the Lindbergh kidnapping.

message 393: by Kitty (new)

Kitty | 320 comments I did it was... trying to come up with another though.
