Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments These all seem pretty good!

message 152: by Upton (last edited Dec 18, 2024 05:21PM) (new)

Upton | 932 comments I have one tagged family x 64 that I finished today.

Do we need to each read at least one?

message 153: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments At this point I think that one of each is easiest. Although I haven’t found a family get so if someone has more than one family then I can do more then one disappearance.

message 154: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments I found a family book and a disappearance book I can use.

message 155: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments I read it wrong! I’m on track now.

message 156: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I have finished all of my books and I do have books to cover the tasks so if anyone needs me to assist with another book I can do so.

message 157: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments I have 2 of my tasks finished. I'm going to look for a family task but I may have you grab my haunted house task.

message 158: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Ok-The haunted house task is my favorite so just let me know.

message 159: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments I finished the books for my last two tasks and will load them tonight after work!

message 160: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments Shaw,

Since Christine has her 2 books finished, please take the haunted house book! I'll find a family task today.

Thanks! I appreciate it 😊

message 161: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments No problem-I’ve got it.

message 162: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments I actually have 3 books finished and I could cover your family book if you need me to. It just happened to work out that way. I am not going to add read dates to my 2 remaining tasks until I see if you want to use my book. I am okay either way, just let me know!

message 163: by Carrie (last edited Jan 05, 2025 04:46PM) (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments That would be great Christine. That way we can get our next tasks without waiting for me to read another book!

Thanks!

message 164: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments Okie Dokie Artichokie. I will add them now.

message 165: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments Done!

message 166: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Sorry y'all - I finished my haunted house book.this morning before sleeping and forgot to update it. We are all done now and posted to prisoner drop off. Our next clown will be Twisty.

I am sending this clown back for resorting. There are too many Arm 1's & Leg 1's and not enough Arm 2's.

message 168: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments That was my bad- I didn't double check that prior to submission. I've fixed it now- do you want me to resubmit to Prisoner Dropoff?

Twisty
description
Twisty is a clown with a mental disability. He worked with Rusty Westchester's Traveling Circus. The carnival freaks, jealous of his popularity, spread a false rumor that he was molesting children. He lost his job and could no longer find work as a clown. He returned to his hometown to find his mother had died. Desperate and angry, he attempted suicide. He survived but his lower jaw had been blown off in the attempt. He began wearing a wide-grin prosthetic mask over his missing jaw. He also decided to make the children love him again by keeping them safe from their mean parents. They made them do chores and denied them candy.
He also thought the carnival freaks that cost him his job were "stealing" the children so he had to protect them from them as well. So he started wearing his clown suit and carried a sack that held his juggling pins. He became a bloodthirsty kidnapper and serial killer but he didn't realize that his actions were wrong.

Complete the following tasks
Arm 1: Read a chain of 3 books with characters that have a mental disability
Arm 2: Read a chain of 3 books that start with a letter in CIRCUS
Leg 1: Read a chain of 3 books with candy on the cover
Leg 2: Read a chain of 3 books with all the letters of the word JUGGLING in the title/series

message 170: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I think I have a few for mental disability and easily have CIRCUS and candy on cover. I’m still searching for JUGGLING in as that one with that J will be challenging.

message 171: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments I agree - juggling will be hard to find. I’ll also have to think on the mental disability one as well.

message 172: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I read that first one with a character and not characters so the books I had in mind won't work. But thankfully I have another one that has more than one character with mental disability.

message 173: by Carrie (last edited Jan 10, 2025 11:38AM) (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments Thanks for pointing out that it said characters not character! I would have missed that otherwise!

I finished that book and am working on my circus one now. Still looking for something that appeals for JUGGLING!

message 174: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I did come upon another book that counts for JUGGLING that I can read if y'all are having trouble finding one.

message 175: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments Thanks Shaw! I am getting ready to start my third book (candy on the cover). Depending on how close everyone is to being finished, I may ask you to take the juggling one.

message 176: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I’ll be starting my Juggling book today which is my last one. So I’ll be finished in a couple of days.

message 177: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments Sounds good Shaw! I've been looking for a juggling book but haven't found anything that fits yet.

message 178: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Carrie wrote: "Sounds good Shaw! I've been looking for a juggling book but haven't found anything that fits yet."

Those three G letters and the J make it really tricky to find one and I happened upon a second one while looking for something unrelated. I should be finished with my Juggling book Friday morning so then I can begin the second Juggling book and I should finish that one by Sunday I think.

message 179: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments @ Christine - I just realized that my CIRCUS book also counts for characters with mental health so I could move that one and then you could read another CIRCUS book if that is easier.

Upton | 932 comments Shaw wrote: "@ Christine - I just realized that my CIRCUS book also counts for characters with mental health so I could move that one and then you could read another CIRCUS book if that is easier."

That would be great! I am struggling with this one. I can add a CIRCUS book right now...or after you move your book :) I jumped the gun on that one

message 181: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I just moved my book so we are good now.

message 182: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments I finally found a book for Juggling!

message 183: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments That's great Christine! I really think that has been one of the most difficult tasks so far!! (I'm glad Shaw took it for me 😊)

message 184: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I did just update it as all finished. I forgot to do that earlier.

message 185: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments I finished that darn juggling task. I'm off to find a book with Candy on the cover.

message 186: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Let me know if you have difficulty finding one cuz I have a couple that count just lying about.

message 187: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments I should have my candy book finished tonight or tomorrow.

message 188: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments I don't have a Candy book yet. It didn't come in at the library. Shaw, if you have one, that would be awesome. I am going to try and find a different book now. Thanks!

message 189: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments I’m sure I have one that I can start tonight.

message 190: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Done with the candy on the cover book. So Carrie whenever you get yours added we should be done with the clown, right?

Donna (dkflynn33) | 7467 comments Mod
You are aware that you already did the Heads, right?

message 192: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments Sorry Donna. My bad - I was distracted checking us in. Can you give us Cleaver and Lil Miss Cleaver?

message 194: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Another good challenging clown!
I’m still working on the family business one but all the others I’m good.

message 195: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments I'll start looking - I have some ideas for most of them!

message 196: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Ugh- the book I had for disappearance didn't quite fit that so I'm gonna have to substitute it for another one.

message 197: by Upton (new)

Upton | 932 comments I thought I had a book for the CLEAVER, but I am missing an R. Grrrrrr. Off to find a different book.

message 198: by Shaw (new)

Shaw | 692 comments Same! Luckily there’s another Perry Mason book thet does have the R.

message 199: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriele1216) | 1151 comments Shaw,

I bought The Djinn Waits a Hundred Years awhile ago. It looks good! You'll have to let me know if you like it!

Shaw | 692 comments Will do- I’ve got the audiobook that I’ll be starting tonight.
