Not even if I was a collector and it was out of print, would I pay a lot of money for a book.
I don't buy a lot now for books.
If I wait long enough, I might get lucky and find them at a library or garage sale.

I don't understand why this book, this ONE book is so hard to come by. I checked my local libraries and everyone USED to have copies, but they were "lost." LOL

Yes, did you see that on the re-release of
An Unforgettable Lady it says J.R. Ward? I would LOVE for them to reissue them all!
UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "Actually, Jessica Bird is the WARDen's real name. If you look in the front of her BDB books they are copyrighted by Jessica Bird."
Oh okay. I have never read any of her work under either. J.R. Ward are the vampire books. I have given those away. I think I have like one or two books.

That might be because I think chronologically For the Roses falls after The Clayborne Brides. If I recall correctly, the three individual novellas were released before For the Roses, and should be read first. Then the story of Cole is that of the bad boy redeemed.

I still need to read Come The Spring. I was so disappointed in the novellas I stopped reading.

No, For The Roses were written first. That's how all the boys met and became a family and Mary Lou joined them, because she was thrown away.
After For The Roses, you have The Clayborne Brides. Cole was the last to get married. He's book comes after The Clayborne Brides. Come The Spring is his book.
Cole was bad in For The Roses and The Clayborne Brides. If he wasn't bad and messy, he wouldn't have been the Cole that I have fallen in love with.

I just wasn't feeling Cole in Come The Spring. I'll reread it next and see if my feelings change. I want to finish Saving Grace first, before I reread Come The Spring.

Courtney: I LOVED

OOooo...You can't go wrong with either Melanie! Absolutely <3 both authors!!!

Okay.
Okay.

Courtney: I LOVED

It started out interesting enough, but now I'm struggling. I think I'll move on to something else, and get back to it by the end of the month. I hate not finishing books too.

I know a lot of it depends on what a person is in the mood too read, but lately I just don't have the patience to go beyond 100 or so pages anymore if its a struggle. I was really excited about this one too. :(

I think

I'm p.o'd about Fallen because I already bought the second book... so I feel obligated to finish it... Hopefully it'll get better though... One can always hope:-p
That is funny, Melanie! I may end up reading The Bride fairly soon. I loved Mr. Impossible. Hope you enjoy it.

I think [bookcover:Mr. Impossi..."
I bought the second book too. Hopefully, the pace will pick up. If not, both books are getting traded at the used bookstore.

Oh you should have started with The Bride :-) It has the secondary characters' story (Alex and Jamie)..
@Michelle... I haven't ever gotten rid of a book yet, but these might also be my first... it's a pity because the story could have been great... Maybe it'll get better (keeping fingers crossed) but I'm gonna take a break from them for a couple weeks...

You gave them a chance. You have the right to move on, Michelle. I'm thinking of ditching all the Jordyn Tracy I bought, except for the one checked which seems 'safe.'
Brenna is cracking me up. I love how she was drooling on him when they are riding together, and she has blue paint on her face. This might be the funniest Garwood I've read so far.

I'll probably read The Bride next. I thought I had read it, but I think I read The Gift. Is that the one with the really naive virgin heroine (they're all virgins except Lady Johanna, but shes more naive than usual for JG)?

A child bride, Sara Winchester had grown into a winsome beauty, joyfully anticipating the day when her husband Nathan, Marquess of St. James, would return to claim her heart at last. Charmingly innocent, she dismissed the ancient feud that divided Nathan's family from her own...and she was totally unaware of his past exploits as the notorious pirate, Pagan. The man who now stood before her was perplexing, arrogant and powerfully handsome...a warrior-gentleman whose gentle touch aroused her to the wildest, deepest pleasures of love.
Nathan had never bared his soul to any woman, but he was soon utterly beguiled and exasperated by Sara's sweet, defiant ways. Aboard his ship, The Seahawk, she was brave, imperious and determined to win his heart completely -- yet upon their return to England, her love would be sorely tested as a vile conspiracy tried to tear them apart. With their future at stake, they would discover the true destiny of their passion...for all time!

The Bride is soooooo cute and funny!! I loved Jamie and Alec.
Thanks, D. I think that's it. She thought that she was pregnant b/c they slept in the same bed, if I remember correctly. I need to reread it.
I'm excited to read The Bride.

The Gift is, literally, sitting next to my bed waiting for me to read it! Very excited!

My favorite Garwoods are:
The Bride
The Wedding
The Secret
Ransom
The Prize
Gentle Warrior
American Western - For the Roses which is one of my absolute all time favorite feel good reads. *sigh* Along with the other Garwoods I listed.
But honestly, when I hear people talk about another Garwood historical, I remember how much I loved that one, too.

So I got a book at costco this afternoon by an author named Sherrilyn Kenyon and I love it so much I read all 464 pages in like an hour and a half. I will swear this on my little sisters life that I did. The book is called Infinity its book one in The Chronicles of Nick.
She has also wrote or is writing.....
The Dark-Hunters
The League
Lords of Avalon
BAD Agency
Chronicles of Nick
and the forthcoming book
Nevermore

That's a lot of pages to be reading in almost two hours. You are good and a fast reader.

Emily, I like Sherrilyn Kenyon also, I'm working my way through the Dark-Hunter series as my public library finds each for me. I'm collecting The League books (buying, reading, and keeping them, that is).
Melanie wrote: "...I haven't ever gotten rid of a book yet..."
Melanie, you say that now, but once you get addicted to the papberbackswap.com website, you'll be going through your stuff to see what you want least to keep so you can use those to acquire more books. The swap here on goodreads' website is OK too, but it costs a bit more and the traffic is a lot slower. Paberback Swap is nonprofit, Goodreads makes a bit off us from each transaction. (One can trade hardcovers and books on CD at either site also.)

And wow, For the Roses was just so amazing...
All of her Highlanders are wonderful... I just can't say enough good about her historicals.
