I'm reading Warrior (Time Hunters, #1) by Angela Knight at the moment (among others) which has a yummy bad boy in it in a SF/futuristic backdrop. I'm really enjoying it, too!

It's set in the Alaskan tundra. The heroine is a geologist. The hero is an undercover agent. They are working on a remote oil drilling station.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments I'm feeling soooo guilty right now! I just ordered ***bracing myself*** 103 books off BD!!! I am certifiably nuts, cuckoo and crazy (but very very happy)... Over the last three weeks I've bought over 150 books... But there are worst things right? right??? :-)

I deserve to be punished! :-) Roarke, Zsadist, Curran, here boys!

As long as you're happy, don't feel guilty! It makes the 6 I bought today seem depressing, lol!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Melanie, I just want to say thank you. I'm no longer feeling at all guilty and plan to print out your post and hang it on the refrigerator, where I can point it out to my husband every time he rolls his eyes because I've bought ONE more book. LOL

Wow, I thought I could buy a lot of books at one time. I usually buy up to 25 books at one time. Well, last year at a garage sale, I've bought 100 books.

103 books at one time is a lot.

message 366: by Melanie (last edited May 17, 2010 02:31AM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments yeah... a LOT of books, and now it's time to firm my (not so-iron) control and stop buying books!!! At least for a couple months!(might be hard... I just read about Lucy Monroe, whose books look like a lot of fun!! ***deep breathing exercices***)
I have no clue how to do it, but I'll probably start by asking my mom to keep my credit card tucked away for a bit, lol..

UM, go for it :-p Tell him he's lucky you're not as whacked as I am! lol

Finished Loyalty in Death last night... I was desperately hoping that the rest of my books would arrive today (with books 10 through 15 of the in death series).. I do have more than enough books on my TBR shelves to read, but I was really hoping for more Roarke:-) I'll stop by the post office on my way to work and see if they've gotten anything, lol..

Meanwhile, I'll either read Beauty Sleep: A Retelling of "Sleeping Beauty", Impulse & Initiative: What If Mr. Darcy Didn't Take No for an Answer? (to get back in touch with Mr D.;-p) or If You Dare (for my RRRC Serial reader challenge) :-)

message 367: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Ok.. decided on Impulse & Initiative: What If Mr. Darcy Didn't Take No for an Answer?, and am halfway through :-) I love it!! I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Darcy, and this variation of P&P is great (we get a lot more E&D time!)!!!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments I just wrote this in the RRRC thread, but y'all HAVE to read Lord of the Fading Lands!!! You couldn't dream of a more dangerous hero than Rain!!!!

I want(no, need) to recommend Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson to everyone who loves Romance (with a capital R) and fantasy... I'm so disappointed it's only the first book in the series (I wasn't going to order any more books, but it can't be helped, I'm ordering the next three!)! This book is absolutely amazing!!!! I was reluctant to start it, but last night at 1am I still couldn't sleep, so I decided to read the first couple chapters... Needless to say, I finally turned out the lights at 4am after reading the last sentence! If I'd had the next book, I'd have started it right away!

I'll have to wait a week or two for the next ones, but I can't wait!!

message 378: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Okay, Melanie, you've convinced me. I just ordered it from the library. :)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Melanie and Carolyn, my daughter has read this series (so far) and absolutely loves it!!

I've been debating on whether or not to start this series. I'm trying to stay away from series books because I have so many going and its hard to keep up with them. Most series only put out books once a year or even longer so by the time the next one comes out I've already gotten kinda hazy on the storyline. It's hard not to get my fiction mixed up. ;-)

message 381: by Melanie (last edited May 19, 2010 09:59AM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments Carolyn, you won't regret it:-)

Jessa, I usually am not a huge fan of series where you always have the same H/h (I have the same problem as you), and I thought this was a stand-alone... But OMG, it was sooo worth picking up! :-) And at least the first four (I think she's stopping after the 5th?) are all out, so you wouldn't have to wait between books! :-)

UM, you have to try at least the first one! :-)))

I just went ahead and ordered Lady of Light and Shadows (Tairen Soul, Book #2) by C.L. Wilson King of Sword and Sky (Tairen Soul Series, Book #3) by C.L. Wilson Queen of Song and Souls (Tairen Soul Series, Book #4) by C.L. Wilson , and I can't wait to receive them! I need to save a whole day for them, so as to read them all in a row!! :-)

Okay, you twisted my arm....although it doesn't take much to convice me to read a book, any book. I'll get my hands on them and start them soon. Is there a lot of romance in them?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm reading Risk No Secrets (Black Ops, #5) by Cindy Gerard by Cindy Gerard. I LOVE her romantic suspense series!!!

Yes, my daughter keeps nagging me, Melanie, to read it. She's chewing her nails to nubs waiting for the next book!

YES!!! The whole book revolves around Rain and Ellie's relationship!

Rain lost his "heart mate" centuries before, but never had a "soul mate"... He's King of the Tairen and the Fey, centuries old and terribly tormented by his past, and no other king ever had a soul mate before him... Ellie (whose past is a mystery) is perfect for him... The story is a cross between PNR (heavy on the romance, but practically no sex scenes in the first book), and fantasy... I actually don't really know what to classify it as! :-) But I loved it! (yeah, I think y'all got that!!) Lol

I would say go for it. The books are good and I think there are only 3 in the series. If I am wrong someone let me know because I need to read the rest. lol

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I had heard that originally there were 3, and they were re-released, changed a bit to allow for the series to continue on, but I couldn't substantiate that.

I do know they are re-releases, but I don't know that she has added any "new" ones as of yet.
