Katy | 790 comments 20.4 - I rolled a 4 and read A Most Wanted Man by John LeCarre. I think the GR description covers how it connects to spies/traveling to a foreign land...a man from Chechnya escapes from a Turkish prison and ends up in Germany, spies from various countries converge and try to use him as leverage.

I visited Westminster Abbey by reading a book by Rudyard Kipling, who is buried there: Just-So Stories: For Little Children I really wish the footnotes were at the end of the pertinent pages instead of grouped all in the back of the book -- it was irritating to have to flip back and forth.

I also visited Stonehenge by reading a book set in ancient Egypt (about 1500 BC). The Mask of Ra by P.C. Doherty A pretty standard mystery, but the setting was marvelous.

Literally Jen (vampsita) 20.5 Family Reunion

D. A novel where one of the characters is researching their family history. It could be a character doing genealogical research or one trying to find a birth parent or absent/unknown parent or one trying to uncover a family secret.

The main character of Forgotten, London Lane, has been out of contact with her father since she was 6 and is trying to find him. Also, her mother is keeping a huge secret from her, and because she has a memory problem (think Drew Barrymore in 50 First Dates) she hasn't been able to figure it all out.

Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd which is a collaboration book edited by Holly Black, and includes stories about geeks from about 10 authors, including John Green, David Levithan and Libba Bray.

Holly Black is a goodreads author, but I have a feeling it doesn't count, even though she is listed as the author of the book. So I'll let the judges decide.
