10.2 Phone Home

The Archangels of Dreamland The Archangels of Dreamland by Steven L. Fawcette by Steven L. Fawcette
which involves the Project 51 aliens. One of the worst books I've ever read.

10.3 Spare Me

Deadly Shoals Deadly Shoals (Wiki Coffin Mysteries 4) by Joan Druett by Joan Druett.
Really enjoyed the book, but it is set in Patagonia, which seems to be a fairly hostile place, especially in the early 1800's. I like hotels, ice cream, and people who want to pamper rather than kill me.

15.10 Summertime and the Reading Is Easy.

The Bean Trees The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver by Barbara Kingsolver
I loved this book and can't believe I put off reading it for so long.

10.3 -- Spare Me Outcast Mine - prison planet Tantoret I don't want to have to be in prison anyways, but especially not sent to a prison planet where I spend the rest of my life underground mining a toxic substance. The toxicity eventually poisons you to the point that you just kind of bleed out. NOT for me!

25.4 -- I rolled a 6 which is for purple. I chose options 1 and 5:

10.3 -- Spare Me

Read a book that is set (at least partially) in a place you really don’t want to visit. Required: State where it is you don’t want to go and why when you post.

Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home by Laura Ling

North Korea – too oppressive – I don’t think they’d want me anyways.

As an aside, I had the opportunity to hear Laura speak, and she was fantastic. Did you know that the main reason why Bill Clinton was able to negotiate her release was because when he was president, he was the first foreign leader to telephone Kim Jong Il when his father died? Kim Jong Il thought that was great and as a result had a desire to meet him. Just goes to show that one little act of courtesy can have far reaching consequences.
