Book A: James Lovell: The Rescue of Apollo 13 by Jan Goldberg
AND
Book B: Star Trek by Alan Dean Foster
Total Points = 330
**Note: I actually got to meet Neil Armstrong in 1970 when he gave a lecture at my college. Very cool. He donated a moon rock to the college planetarium that is still on display there today.
**Note: Heather Graham was a new author to me and I loved the book so naturally now I have to add her books to the rapidly GROWING tbr list.

i chose option 3, and read a book that was published the year i was born, 1970. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. i love that i still have the book we read as kids...Teenage Softies brand pads crack me up. guess they've "updated" the newer editions to have pads with adhesive, instead of belts. booooo! :)

(Tried to post this just before, and it didn't work, so if it comes up twice, I'm sorry).

Lies by Michael Grant. I'd never, ever want to get stuck in the FAYZ, even though I'm over the age of 15, so I would have "poofed out". But still, if starvation, the Darkness, and the Human Crew weren't enough to deter me, Drake would be.

10.3 -- Spare Me Read a book that is set (at least partially) in a place you really don’t want to visit. Required: State where it is you don’t want to go and why when you post.
Salvador by Joan Didion
This takes place in El Salvador and just reiterated my not wanting to go there. It's hot and sticky, dangerous and you can't drink the water. I may be being closed minded and the book is from 82, but this is just not a part of the world I want to visit (I know I'll be missing out on a lot of beauty, but still not on my must travel list).
