Hi!
I don't know if you're still looking for recommendations since it's been a while since you posted your comment. But one of my most favourite books is The Diviners by Libba Bray and also the sequel in that series. It's set in the roaring twenties.

Hey!
I would recommend Ruby Red (Precious Stone Trilogy) by Kerstin Gier and Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer.

message 427: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Ellie Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could recommend some recent YA fantasy type books or series.

I just finished reading Three Dark Crowns and Red Queen and now I'm currently reading The Bone Witch. Just looking for something to read next!

Thanks (:

message 428: by Anna (new)

Anna (annagirl100) Okay, so I want to read something creepy, but not TOO creepy, y'know? I loved The Maze Runner for many reasons, but the number one was probably how freaky the Grievers seemed to me. I'm interested in zombie apocalypse or alien invasion, but The 5th Wave and World War Z are out for different reasons. Anything come to mind?

You might be interested in I Am Number Four or Cinder. They're both sci-fi. The first one's creepy sometimes, and the second has a really creepy antagonist. Hope you find something you enjoy.

The Hunger Games
Cinder

I hope you find something you like.

Have you tried Enclave by Ann Aguirre Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre ? I really enjoyed them.
Also, the Newsfeed Trilogy by Mira Grant Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy, #1) by Mira Grant , these are not for everyone but i loved them! I have reread them several times.

Also, feel free to browse my read books shelve, you might find some that you like in there.

Happy reading!!

message 433: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresainohio) Hate List read this a few yrs ago it is about a school shooting, but a diferent POV
Running Lean
girl is recovering from bullying and by trying to control her life she is consumed by food, I felt her pain as she fights an eating disorder and the daily life of being a teenager HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Dangerous Girls At first seems like a ripped from the head lines story and a cliche spring break trip, This is much more than that, we are given a look at obsessive friendship that is bordeline controlling as for the murder the trial is in a forgein country which is very different from the US legal system

also check out my shelves, I have a five star shelf let me know if you have questions about books read

Suzi!!! (suzievelyn) BookishBoy wrote: "Hey, guys!

Personally, I didn't like it. I'm more of a fantasy/contemporary (opposites, I know, right?) kind of girl, though. If you like romance/ sort of dystopian, I think you might like it. If you're interested in it, though, I think you should definitely give it a shot.

message 435: by Kelly (new)

Kelly May sound strange, but Im looking for a book with the brother dynamic, like in Fallen Crest High, Midnight Star or Trickery-the curse of the gods (really good book by the way). If you have any suggestions please let me know, thank you!

message 436: by L.J. (new)

L.J. Evans | 22 comments Caraval It's the first in a series. But it was a lot of fun. Made me think of Alice in the Wonderland cross with a game like Hunger Games. Plus MAGIC. I can't wait for the next one.

message 437: by Mia (new)

Mia (musical_books) It depends on your mood (I am definitely a mood reader), but I'm in love with the Legend Trilogy at the moment. It's good for boys and girls and is lots of fun to read!

message 438: by Fefe (new)

Fefe I'm looking for a good YA contemporary romance to read. I'm currently reading The Distance Between Us by Kacie West but it's becoming really disappointing for me. If you have any suggestion, please let me know!

message 442: by [deleted user] (new)

I just started reading two new (to me) series that I'm really enjoying.
1) The Summoner Trilogy by Taran Matharu
2) Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes.

I recommend them both.

message 443: by Suzi!!! (new)

Suzi!!! (suzievelyn) Recently, I've read and would recommend

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
Emmy & Oliver

and, a little less recent, but amazing nonetheless

Saint Anything
and anything else by Sarah Dessen.

message 444: by Rishika (new)

Rishika I just finished

Lips Touch: Three Times
by Laini Taylor

Its actually really cute, it includes these fairy tale type of stories.

I would also recommend
Trickery

Cute clutzy character. She has a really funny thought processing.

What type of fantasy do you like? High fantasy, epic fantasy, urban fantasy...?

message 447: by Yasmeen (new)

Yasmeen | 13 comments probably urban fantasy

message 448: by Fefe (new)

Fefe Yasmeen wrote: "probably urban fantasy"

I recommend Shadowland by Meg Cabot. It's the first book in a series about ghosts and it's super easy to read (I found it really fast pacing and helped me to get out of my reading slump). It's short, there's no love triangle - the main character meets multiple boys throughout the series but it's never "i don't know who i love the most" situation so she has only one solid love interest. It's cheesy, but I consider it my guilty pleasure to read.
