Bre I just finished The Accident Season I loved it, and not sure what to read next... I have picked up a few books but after a few pages can't seem to get into them. Any recommendations?

Thanks!!

Mitsy (mitsyc) | 12 comments Yes, I highly recommend an ugly cry, powerful, YA novel written when the author was a teen herself. The Last Night deals with depression, bullying, suicide, family dysfunction and more. Heather Kirchhoff wrote it when she was 16-17, which adds an authenticity to the story rarely found in any fiction novel. The Last Night is only $.99 on Amazon Kindle US.

Robert Lampros Here's the first chapter of my YA novella, Afternoon. It's not sci-fi/fantasy YA but it's unique, funny, and well-written: https://robertlampros.wordpress.com/2...

So if you are looking for an easy and fast read, I would recommend Stephanie PerKins books (Anna and the french kiss...), or Sarah Dessen.
However I have to say that I'm currently reading Mara Dyer and I'm obsessed with it, so go check that out. (I also recommended thid one because I'm in serious need of someone to fanglir with about Noah)
I would also recommend Looking for Alaska, but its depressing and put me in a cry/sobbing modd for a whole weekend so...
I hope I can help you, though.

message 376: by Josie (last edited Mar 17, 2016 09:47PM) (new)

Josie Asylum (Asylum, #1) by Madeleine Roux OH MY GOD!! You guys I've found the coolest freaking book ever!! Its called Asylum by Roux, Madeleine. It's based off of true findings and a real place called Brookline in New Hampshire. The characters aren't real but like I said the findings are real. She has pictures of some of the stuff in the book too, which I find really interesting. Its obviously going to be a little creepy and I think its paranormal but I'm not positive, I'm only on chap 17. It's part of a three book series too!

message 385: by Kaycee (new)

Kaycee (oddly_otter) I've been really interested in Villains lately. Are there any good YA books that focus more on the bad guy? Like, I shouldn't like this person but they're so charismatic! Or even, just some books with a great villain that really shines in the pages!

message 386: by Diane (new)

Diane The Enclave series has a "bad guy" that turns into a good guy. "Blood Red Road" series has a bad guy that seems to hold a charm for many of the characters (although I personally don't get it). I don't think my suggestions really address what you are looking for. You mean like Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in the Thor movie series, so maybe you should just watch those movies!

Yeah! Like Loki! Or like that show House of Cards, Kevin Spacey is totally the bad guy but you kinda root for him? Or you know, even the Hercules movie! Hades is just a good bad guy!

I'll look into that suggestion though, maybe i'll like it!

Morgan Wagner (mh895) If anyone is still interested in ya sci/fi dystopian books. I read "Across the Universe". It was really good. It's a trilogy and if I remember the author is Beth Ress or Reves. I'm following her on my page. Sorry I lost track of her name, I'm on my phone and can't place a book and author.

message 395: by Safoniara (new)

Safoniara (emoelf) | 2 comments Hello!
(Sorry for my english, it's not my first language)
I'm looking for some great books. Not just good books, not books you think are great, but then forget about them. I need some really good books, books that will haunt me, get me obsessed about them and fangirl over. You feel me?
What I like the most?
Great, interesting, complex characters. (I have a weakness for bad-but-really-misunderstood-and-miserable guys. I also love when characters are strange/funny/sad... idk, special)
Believable relationships - love, friendships, [family]. (I ADORE great love stories, BUT i hate it when there's insta love and book is basically just about that love).
I love it when book makes me both cry and laugh, I love both drama & humour. Some ridiculousness, mad ideas and mystery too.
I like original atmosphere. Original (poetic, beautiful, strange) writing would be welcome too.

What are my favorite books/series?
The Infernal Devices I love it so much it hurts me. (TMI was cool too, but not in my favorites)
The Raven Cycle
The 5th wave
Shatter Me
Bloodlines (actually I've read only first two books for now, but i love this. TVA wasn't so great at all for me)
Throne Of Glass (haven't read ACoTaR yet, but i will for sure)
Ourlander
Mistborn
Forgive me, Leanord Peacock
I'll Give You The Sun
The Book Thief
The Little Prince
& Rainbow Rowell (Eleanor & Park!!!), John Green & Jodi Picoult

Please help me discover something beautiful (:

First of all, your English is far better than most native speakers, so don't worry about it.

Sweet Evil
The Demon Trapper's Daughter
Abandon
Maybe One Day
Fixing Delilah

Keep in mind that some of these books I read a long time ago and I can't remember much about them except for the fact that I'm in love with them.
