More Blog Tour Goodness

Wednesday I was interviewed at The Page Flipper, including stuff about how I name my characters and what I think of girl power. Also, see the future paperback cover of The Treasure Map of Boys!

Thursday, I guest-blogged at Cheryl Rainfield's site -- and see the cover of Real Live Boyfriends, which pubs in December 2010.

Later today (Friday) I'll be at Sharon Loves Books and Cats

Blog tour

Quickie break from my internet blackout (which is less than total -- I've been holiday shopping online a bit, and every now and then I look at Facebook or Twitter, but generally I have felt free of that compulsive checking and following of all kinds of unnecessary threads of info).

(Digression: I have only been doing a LITTLE bit of online shopping, because it's important to spend your holiday dollars at LOCAL businesses. Otherwise, the chains get all yr money and the little guys go under...

Internet break, and What Gifts to Give Your Boyfriend this Holiday Season

Sara Zarr (author of Once Was Lost! Kirkus best books of year list!) convinced me I need to take a break from internetty type activities. For like, all of December. Starting tomorrow.

I am doing it!
Which means: no (or minimal) twitter, facebook, myspace, blogging, browsing, reading Go Fug Yourself and other such nonsensical entertainments. Minimal email, minimal online this and that.
Allowed: only necessary emailing and holiday shopping.

I have a blog tour coming up which will REVEAL...

Sorry haven't blogged in so long.  I bought an apartment and am supervising the work being done on it and it is a VERY BUSY time.

Paint colors!  Why do you obsess me so?

And feast your eyes on this wallpaper:

Trees of mystery, you are mine!!!

On another note, have you checked out The Amanda Project?  My friend Melissa Kantor wrote the first book in this wild interactive mystery, and the site has a lot of very cool things you can do in addition to reading the story.

Also, I will be at ALAN this...

Good Reads

Recently read:

WILL GRAYSON, WILL GRAYSON, by John Green and David Levithan.  Yes, they're both my friends, and YES, this book is most seriously excellent. Alternating stories of two guys in Chicago named Will Grayson, and their relationships with the women in their lives, and with one huge force of a guy namae Tiny Cooper. It comes out in April and you should pounce on it.

AIRHEAD by Meg Cabot.  I am probably the last person on earth to read it, but it is very, very good fun, and there's a...

more ask Ruby

Ruby is at it again. Answering people's questions, mostly advice to the lovelorn.

Of course, she is a 17 year-old noboyfriend mental patient with highly questionable judgement.  But people seem to want her advice, anyway.

In other news, Treasure Map of Boys is out in the world and Real Live Boyfriends cover art just showed up on my desk! That fourth Roo book will come out December 2010.
