I turned in a book last night. So many emotions hit you right after you hit send. First, euphoria because you get a break from the LONG stream of 15+ hour days. Then nerves because you hope your editor doesn’t call to say you gotta start again. From scratch. Then today? The crash. Don’t know why I planned to make things up to my family by hella-cleaning and baking because I keep starting stuff then finding myself staring at a wall. The brain–she’s just not altogether there. LOL

I made things confusing for some with my photo yesterday. Dweller isn’t out in print yet. You see, an author gets her print copies early for promotional purposes.

Here is an actual line-up of books I have coming out this year:

March- Dweller on the Threshold (Bero O’Dell book/Samhain Publishing) Print edition (Ebook has been out since March 2013.)

April - Foretold (Sisters of Fate/Harlequin Teen) Digital edition (This trilogy is digital only, but it could possibly go to print someday.)

August- Forecast (Sisters of Fate/Harlequin Teen) Digital edition

October- Blood of an Ancient (Beri O’Dell/Samhain Publishing) Print edition (Ebook has been out since October 2013.)

December- Forewsorn (Sisters of Fate/Harlequin Teen) Digital edition

I’m currently finishing up my second Harlequin Teen young adult book. OMG, it’s action-packed and apocalyptic and I’m in love with my hero–even though he is way too young for me. LOL.

Dweller on the Threshold comes out in trade-sized print March 4. It’s currently up for pre-order at Samhain Publishing for $16.00. It will go on sale there a few weeks before release with a really nice discount, so I’ll post when that happens. It’s also up at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It’s $12.56 at Amazon!

Sorry for the quiet. I’m busting my butt on a deadline and then I have another right after. I’ll be posting more during that one. In the meantime, you can scroll down a post and look at the pretty new cover for my YA releasing April 1st.

The cover for my debut young adult novel, FORETOLD, is being revealed today at the Harlequin Teen Facebook. I’m so excited! I’ll post it here tomorrow, but you can jot over there to see!!

Beri O’Dell book #1, Dweller on the Threshold, has pretty much stayed in the top 50 in its category in the UK Amazon for about a month. She even dipped into the top 20 a few times! Very exciting to see that maybe word is getting out. I love writing the Beri O’Dell books and hope there can be many more.

Working on Forecast and like always, one song seems to fit my characters. For Coral and Taran, it’s Beautiful Mine by The Butterfly Effect

One of the small but big-to-me problems of being on a laptop so much is that I HATE having a laptop on my lap. I’ve tried many different lap desks and the truth is, if they are actually ON my lap, it doesn’t work for me. There are heat and circulation issues. Sore legs.

I work at a desk as much as possible, but let’s face it, there are times you need to work on your bed or on the couch. A huge, heavy breakfast tray doesn’t work either. They are hard to maneuver when you get up and down a lot, they’re heavy, bulky and the worst? Too freaking high for non-painful typing. Right now I can’t work at my desk. Have a kiddo home and she’s using my office, so I’ve been trying everything to make this work.

I finally broke down and tried something new. It arrived today. Here are my feelings so far. It’s light, the legs are adjustable so I can have it right over my lap and not ON my lap. I’ve been on it an hour and so far, the heat isn’t an issue and the typing height is perfect. I’ll let you know how it holds up. That will be the big test. Already, the tray dips a little with the weight of my laptop. Oh and my laptop isn’t very wide–this wouldn’t work for the larger sized laptops. 

I ended up with overlapping deadlines, so I’ve been extremely busy. I also have revisions and page proofs and so many other more exciting things going on.

My big news is I’ve seen the cover concepts for my Harlequin Teen books and they are gorgeous! I am SO looking forward to sharing.

In the meantime, my first two Beri O’Dell novels are still up and chugging along. Unfortunately, I’ve been a little too busy to do a lot of promo, so if you’ve enjoyed the books, feel free to tell your friends. Amazon reviews help quite a bit too. Beri could use a little exposure.
