Nice Review
I really enjoyed this review of Dweller on the Threshold at Coffee Time Romance. I wanted to add a nice graphic button to their site, but I can no longer add graphics to this website. One of these days, I’m going to do a real website on the domain I own. LOL.
In the meantime, check out the review!

A good friend, Jenna Black, has a new book out today that I’m looking forward to. Big time. It’s the start of a new young adult series and looks so good!

Odds and Ends
I’ve been so busy lately! I’ve turned in final line edits on Blood of an Ancient. I’m working on a couple of deadlines and about to plot book three in the Beri O’Dell series. I’ve also already done cover sheets on the new project I haven’t been able to share yet. All I can say is I’m SO EXCITED about this book deal. I’m fulfilling a long-time dream with this one. Hopefully, I’ll be able to share soon.
I’m also having a blast gardening. There is nothing like growing your own fresh vegetables. We have green beans, tomatoes, red onions, green peppers and jalapeno peppers coming off already. Soon, there will also be cucumbers, cantaloupes and watermelons! I share gardening ups and downs on my personal FB page if you’re interested in seeing pics. I also have an official author FB page for book only information.

Official Release Date and Blurb-Blood of an Ancient
The official release date of Blood of an Ancient is October 22, 2013! And here is all the other official information on the book I can now share.
Tagline:
Saving the love of her life could mean letting her inner darkness out to play.
Blurb:
Beri O’Dell is on a mission. She has to rip back into a hell dimension fast, but needs two things first—the blood of an ancient and a fix for her friend Blythe’s magic, which careened out of control after the battle with the Dweller.
Finding ancient blood isn’t easy when the old ones are rare and unwilling to donate. She needs to find Blythe’s former mentor…except the woman has lost her mind and joined a traveling band of singing witches.
That’s not the only magical monkey on her back. Nikolos is imprisoned, and after a screwed-up spell lets her witness the horror that has become his life, her fear for him grows by the day. Now there’s another problem—a powerful being unleashed during the battle with the Dweller likes her gluttonous new existence, and will kill anyone who threatens it.
But Beri has a few tricks up her costumed sleeve, even if it means mining the darkness of her soul to set everything right…and get Nikolos back in her arms.
Warning: Sleazy ancients. Random fires. Nosy teenage hackers. Hints of off-screen torture. Battles with…Beri doesn’t know what. And one scary boyfriend who keeps inching toward insanity.

Good Post
My critique partner put up a nice post today, catching up readers on what’s happening with her. She also talks frankly about e-piracy and what it’s doing to our business. I’ve spent so much time this week dealing with it that I finally had to pay a company to help. How fair is that? Trust me, I don’t make enough to afford this, but I never will if I don’t do something. I wish more people would understand that their favorite authors and series won’t continue at this rate.

So many people checking in with me. My family is north of where this tornado hit in Oklahoma. We are fine. Our hearts are with our friends in Moore right now.

My Day Got Better
Let’s cheer this blog back up! Received first response from my editor at Samhain Publishing today and she said that though she liked Dweller so very much, she LOVES Blood of an Ancient. So yay! This was a stressful book because I didn’t give myself enough time on it. I basically did nothing but work for the last few months, but it sounds like it might have paid off. Hope you all enjoy it when it releases in October!
Now I have a print galley to get done and round one of rewrites to get done–by the end of this week. Expecting rewrites soon on the new series with a different publisher, too.
Excited to have all this happening. Here’s the cover of Blood of an Ancient again.

Edited: I’m getting a lot of emails asking if my family is okay. Yes. One of the tornadoes touched down 2 to 3 miles from me, but they all missed us. My heart goes out to those not as fortunate. The tornado that started in our town just kept going and building. It was scary and they are still looking for survivors. Thanks to all who have been concerned.
