Introducing Magic Owl Designs

Katie W. Stewart, who illustrated my Smelly Trolls series, has just started a website offering pre-made covers.

These are covers authors can buy 'off the peg' for their books, without having to pay the price for a full custom design. Prices range from 30 to 75 Australian dollars (roughly £18 - £46).

And if you want something unique, don't worry. Once an author has bought a cover, Katie takes it down from sale. She might recycle artwork, but the cover itself will be one of a kind.

Blue Screens, the Garage and Cannes

Flashback, the first feature length film by Brendan Rogers, is now out on DVD. I was fortunate enough to work with Brenden on a theatre project at university - a play called The Virgin Student. I'm delighted to see a truly talented person achieving something incredible.

Briefly tell us about...

Guardian Announces Series of Interviews Showcasing Indie Talent

Today, the Guardian announced that they will run a series of interviews with self-published authors.

This is not the first time the Guardian has pledged support for indie authors, but today's article suggests dissatisfaction with the results of previous attempts to showcase our talents.

Articles from the Guardian are often referenced in indie publishing circles. Most recently, mystery writer Daphne Coleridge started a KUF thread about the Guardian's article, Self-published ebook sales reach 20%...

Interview With Oily Pongbottom

Oily Pongbottom is a knobbly, round troll. He is shorter than a grown-up but much fatter than anybody you will have ever seen. He has yellow eyes and green saliva drips from his chapped lips. On his head are two short, stumpy horns set between short, thick brown hair that appears to have been cut with shears. He wears no clothes, just a grubby cloth to hide his smelly bottom. He's slimy, stinky and warty.

Now, for the first time in troll history, Oily Pongbottom has allowed himself to be inter...
