Day (416) – Heartfelt
Les Brown in his speech “Step Into Your Greatness” describes an event in his life where he got down on himself, and didn’t slow down the “car of his life,” he just decided to get off the road and park. He stayed off the road, he went back to his comfort zone, and didn’t even give himself the opportunity to be helped by those who were around him. I’ve listened to this speech, all 48 minutes of it, 10 times in the past week and a half. Why?
I parked.
I have an interesting life in one particular way. At time it can be incredibly frustrating, and at times it is very fruitful. But because I play a big game in life, the problems that come with this mentality are monumental. They stack up on me, I get stressed out…I still perform…but things can get pretty sporty sometimes. The result of all of this is that I got to a place where I accomplished something that I was working on work almost a year, felt how anticlimactic it was, and then I parked. I parked because I saw my potential, and got scared of it. I am still scared of it. But, I know that I have to start on all of this before I am ready. And that is exactly what I am going to do.
“A setback is a setup for a comeback.” – Les Brown
I’m coming back. Yesterday, I called out for help from a few people, and they sent me things that were incredibly supportive and nice. They picked me up when I was feeling down. And it was in this moment though, the moment where I asked for someone to help jumpstart my car, that I knew I had driven back to the highway of life and was ready to start driving again.
Someone who is becoming closer and closer to me keeps reminding me of something really important that I yelled out last night during a toast. “Too blessed to be stressed.” But it is true, I have incredible people in my life. In fact, I have an incredible life in general. I am supported by family, friends, and thousands and thousands of people who read what I have to write every single day. I just released my heart and soul in the form of a book, and now I am patiently waiting till March so I can take the funds I have received…and invest them back into myself and my dreams. I am going to go do some big things. I know it.
So today I fill my heart with what’s important and I am going to be done with all the rest. What is important? Love, Passion, and Never Quitting. But what else is important to me besides what is mentioned before? Going out and showing other people that they can take something, a dream or a vision, and turn it into reality. That dream or vision can relate to their body, their mind, or their heart. But it is also about inspiring other people to live powerful and impassioned lives. If I can lead my life that way…if I can make that my goal and speak to your heart and overthrow all of the excuses in your mind, then my last day on this earth with be a very happy one.

Be Part of a Dream
What is my coaching is all about?
So what this “coaching” is all about. Two years ago I dedicated myself to inspiring others to live powerful and impassioned lives. I knew that after I finished achieving a dream, the publishing of The Better Man Project, I wanted to start a career coaching people and helping them get to a place where they could also go after their dreams and achieve their goals. The best way you can describe what I am going to be for you is a kickass motivating confidant. Where does my experience come from? From thousands of days of personal cave diving, mentors, trial and error, research, studying, and the practicing of concepts that I have implemented in my life over and over again.
Simply put, what do I want for you? I want to see you become a goal setting, powerful, inspired, motivated, purpose driven, and balanced individual. How do we get there? One, by getting you out of your own way – usually the biggest obstacle of any personal goals. Two, by having you create your own unique plan. Through many simple but significant exercises, you will create your own plan, attack that plan, and give yourself a much better chance of success. If we can dream it, we can achieve it.
Here are some things you will you be able to do because of this coaching
Eliminate the “baggage” from your past and live in the present
Set clear, specific, and measurable goals – then attain them
Create a vision for your life – and turn that vision into reality
Have your mind, body, and soul all work in sync
Create possibilities for your life and for your relationships
Confront failure and fear constructively
Use your emotions, both positive and negative, in a beneficial way
My coaching is all about action. When we are out giving it our best shot, even if we are failing, we feel great because we are making strides towards our goals. Like I said above, our focus will be on creating unique plans for your mind, body, and soul. Further, my coaching will help you become very comfortable with whatever life will throw at you, and keep you on track towards accomplish your dreams.

Day (415) – Patience
It seems like, at least for the past few days, my patience has been tested in so many different ways. The way life works for the most part is you can’t actually have it when you want it. Most of the time the timing itself does not work out or there is some other conflict. So what do you do? Keep working for it.
Luck is what happens when preparation and opportunity meet. You get lucky when you have put in the blood, sweat, and tears into something and you are ready for the opportunity to show your stuff. But, I feel as of late, I have forgotten how important that equation is. How important that hours of preparation are to making your life unfold before your eyes.
I believe we were all given these gifts – gifts in a special combination that no one else in the world could possibly have. To wait around for a sign or a clear path is a waste of the gifts themselves. We truly are all people of decision. No one else makes decisions for us, because in the end, we are the only one that presses the go or no go button. So you can’t really wait to make your dreams happen. You can’t really wait to be the type of person you have always wanted to be. You can’t wait for the friends. You can’t wait for the material goods. You have to go out there and create them. Because they are there waiting for you, but you have to get past the obstacle of your mind before you can go out there and bring them into your life.

Day (414) – Hope (+)
“We have to hold the people we love with an open palm…so they are free to fly away, and if it’s meant to be, they will come back to us.”- T.L. Just because I’m losing, doesn’t mean I’m lost.
I’m going to tell you a story tonight. When I was three years old, there was a night where I was screaming and writhing in agony. The bottom right side of my abdomen was on fire. I was in pain, so much pain. I remember laying on my parents bed crying with such purpose that I could feel my chest tightening. I remember this feeling with such clarity that even to this day, when life throws its finest at me, and I have to shed a tear or two…the feeling strikes me with such familiarity that I almost stop in my tracks.
They took me to the E.R. and the doctors said that it was only the flu. I remember crawling back into the backseat of the car, still in pain, looking at the lights go by. I remember that later that night, I had this dream that I will never forget. In fact, whenever I get really sick, I seem to have this dream occur. The biggest waves I have ever seen crashed down upon me. Wave after wave I struggled to come up for air. I guess you could say I was drowning in this dream. Then, all of the sudden, just as the waves had hit me, the pain came roaring back into my stomach. I started screaming. I was back in the E.R.
The doctors told my parents that if my burst appendix was left unattended for a few more hour that I wouldn’t have made it. Toxins were pouring into my body and slowly killing me. Life had more in plan for me. As they had to take massive amounts of blood, eventually my veins collapsed and had to spend another week in the hospital. I eventually was out, two weeks later, and back on the prowl ready to start my life. From that point on, I have remembered a lot that has happened to me.
Hope. When it gets hard, it then gets better. When it gets better, it then gets hard. I don’t think there is a more natural and balanced way of putting it. Until recently, I never really just drove somewhere to sit out and look at the stars. There was something profound about that night. Being completely surrounded by darkness, but yet, as I looked up at the sky, I saw something so bright. Things can get very dark sometimes, but if you pick your head up and you look around, you can see that there is beauty in everything. You can’t always make everything work. Moving on doesn’t always mean that you are quitting. It just means that the cards you have been dealt are not the ones you want to play with, and you have to fold sometimes to get to your next best hand.
We learn something from everything. And over the past couple of months, I cannot even begin to describe to you the lessons I have learned. I was reminded of the importance of love, of passion in the launching of a dream, and of what it truly means to never quit. But as I looked myself in the mirror today, I was also reminded of something that makes everything work. Integrity. Something that I keep coming back to over and over again. Because without it, nothing that I stand for can come out. I can’t show it to myself, and I certainly can’t show it to other people when things become thick. So here I am, hearing my fingers patter on the keys, a sound that has become familiar to me but has never lost its soothing qualities…hurting but not hurt…losing, but not lost. And in the end, the only sound I hear, is the bump in my chest, telling me that it is okay…and that I will give everything again.

Simple But Significant (XX)
The world isn’t kept running because it’s a paying proposition
(God doesn’t make a cent on the deal)
The world goes on because a few men in every generation believe in it utterly,
accept it unquestioningly;
they underwrite it with their
lives
