yeah, some of them look a little dodgy. I don't think they are all really 'Christian' books

Where are the provocative covers? I looked at all of them and as far as I could tell they were all Christian books. I didn't see anything provocative.

Gloria Brunette oh my God I wish I could read all of these books, they look sooooooooooooooo interesting.

looks like they were removed

message 7: by Gregg (new)

Gregg Bridgeman I added books 1 to 3 of Hallee Bridgeman's Jewel Trilogy: Sapphire Ice, Emerald Fire, and Topaz Heat. The trilogy is set in Boston and each cover gives a fantastic pictorial of some famous Boston landmarks. The graphics are clever. The silhouettes leave the reader to interpret the character in their imagination. Cover artist for all three books is Debi Warford.

message 8: by Shantelle (new)

Shantelle I saw one or two books on this list that looked very much aganist Christianity. They look like horror books... wondering why they are on here.

my sentiments exactly...show me one

message 10: by Cindy (new)

Cindy Hemric I looked at the covers after reading this comment and didn't see anything amiss. Maybe they removed the questionable covers or maybe someone is just trying to make nasty comments....usually men are not reading these books...but men are changing nowadays, and not all according to Paul's ideas of men....

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

most of them look christian to me... but a few, well, notsomuch

message 12: by Cindy (new)

Cindy Hemric First Impressions is the only book I saw that had a questionable cover, and I read the synopsis and am not quite sure about that one.

message 13: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Cindy wrote: "First Impressions is the only book I saw that had a questionable cover, and I read the synopsis and am not quite sure about that one."

What is questionable about it? A lot of dresses and even wedding gowns don't have sleeves. The story has a clear faith thread and is about the spiritual hazards of dating someone who isn't a Christian and how it will influence your walk with the Lord.

message 14: by Cindy (new)

Cindy Hemric When you dress as a saloon girl that does not give the appearance of being a Christian read....but I do understand how some people are dressing nowadays...personally, I believe if you dress in some ways it is understandable if your Christianity may come into question.

Michelle Cindy wrote: "When you dress as a saloon girl that does not give the appearance of being a Christian read....but I do understand how some people are dressing nowadays...personally, I believe if you dress in some..."

That's the point of the story, but you probably won't read it and that's okay since it sounds like you don't want to read stories that delve into issues that I write about. To each his own. My favorite genre is historical fiction (to read.) I see that's your preference from your bookshelf as well.

Oh, and the character is not a Christian and that's why she dresses that way, giving a bad first impression, but she does find faith and no longer wears that type of attire. Not everyone in Christian books is wholesome and saved (at least not in the ones I write) so they have a faith journey, and that's what makes a book Christian, not the dress they wear.

You may or may not find this amusing, but I had a costume made to match the one on the cover and I went to a secular convention where I was able to sell my books. So each person who bought one and read it got a chance to see that Jesus is real and that faith does change people. That's what the gospel is all about.

message 16: by Cindy (new)

Cindy Hemric Thanks for clarifying that she was not a Christian when this story began...for me, Redeeming Love is my very favorite and she did not start the story as a Christian. I have read a lot of these books and have enjoyed them. I hope you much success on First Impressions!!

message 17: by Michelle (last edited Aug 03, 2013 08:14AM) (new)

Michelle Well, the ironic thing about the character in First Impressions is she is a 30 year old virgin who has never been kissed since she was about 13 and that was a one time occurrence. But she dresses like a saloon girl thinking she'll attract a guy. She does, but he's a Christian and it's his faith that draws her to him (part of the pull) and he dates her even though he knows he shouldn't and it messes up his good walk with the Lord and he stops reading his Bible and she starts to lose interest in him since what drew her in the first place was the light now dimming because of him compromising and doing what he knows he shouldn't do, which is to date a non-believer. So she's pure and so is he and normally at that age no one is untainted by the world. That's what makes the story interesting. But you probably wouldn't like the story, so I wouldn't recommend it. He thinks like a real guy and argues with God in his head and everything, but he doesn't have holy thoughts all the time.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

After scrolling through this list I find myself with 20+ new books added to my want to read shelf :)

message 19: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Don't judge a book by it's cover and don't judge people by first impressions..

message 20: by Brandi (new)

Brandi Um, some of these look very non-Christian. Is there a way to remove them?

message 21: by J.J. (new)

J.J. Johnson A King's Return (Kingdoms of Islandia Book 1) by J.J. Johnson

Vote for my cover if you think it stands out. :)

message 22: by ~☆~Autumn (new)

~☆~Autumn Number 1354 A Discovery of Witches is not a Christian book and needs to be removed. Also there is a Percy Jackson which is a good book but not Christian! I saw another one too but forgot the title already. This list sure needs work.
