Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Here's the Morris cake from last night. It was the most difficult one so far, so I was glad when it left!

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Wow, well done! That's not a craft I have any skill in whatsoever - that's fantastic!

message 503: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments pretty snazzy!!!

message 504: by [deleted user] (new)

Fantastic! It seems a shame to eat it...

:0)

message 505: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Thanks - he didn't cut it, not sure how long he'll keep it before eating it!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments That's a brilliant cake. I won a Jeep cake years ago - eating black icing seemed odd but it was lovely. It was announced that I had won a 'Jeep' after a dealers off road driving day and I was handed keys but it was the cake not the real car :o(

message 507: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments What a mean trick! Though at least the cake was nice!

message 508: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments What a gorgeous cake! Clever you.

message 509: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments (Anyone for the tapes?)

message 510: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Sorry Elle, meant to reply then got distracted by cake!
I'm far too much of a magpie with pretty ribbons, tapes etc, and would only hoard them in my stash... hope someone will actually use them. V kind offer anyroad.

message 511: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Ha i figured the cake distracted everyone!

I am such a magpie but I don't even craft! They just take up room I don't have!!

Janet! Read this thread!

Patti!!!! I did.

I thought someone would have snapped them up.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat as Karen - too much stuff and not enough space, I need to thin out my stash.

Thin out the stash? no, no... my precious...
It'd be like giving up chocolate.

message 516: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks for the offer, Elle. I wouldn't use the tape either. If no one comes forward, how about selling in on ebay...?

:0)

message 517: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Can't really be bothered to sell it on ebay. If no-one wants it i'll just put it away and then if someone ever wants it they can msg me or whatever!

message 518: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Right then... please can I give it a good home, Elle? I'll be starting the new scrapbook for 2013 next week.
Always good to have something new to decorate the pages.

Of course, Of course! I got your message but forgot to reply :D! I'll get Father to bring home an envelope tomorrow and post them ASAP.

message 521: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Thanks Elle! Looking forward to getting my hands on em. Might be enough to make a mini skirt?

message 522: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Lol!! If your skirt is very small?

I hope you don't mind a delay in me sending them out. I have exams on Monday and Tuesday so I'll hopefully get them sent Wednesday!

message 523: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments We'll need photos of the scrapbook of course Karen.

Or the skirt. ;)

message 525: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Perfect!
as long as it's not a windy day, of course

message 526: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments ... and good luck with the exams Elle. Don't envy you.

message 527: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Good luck indeed - but think of the other end of the process, too! My students are all handing in their assignments today so it's a happy week of marking! (oh, and not very much craft unless I make paper aeroplanes out of their scripts - which is tempting, now I come to think of it ... I'm sure yours will be a much higher standard!)

message 528: by [deleted user] (new)

message 531: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Definitely have to have a go at bookbinding. I bought a couple of 'make your own books' books last year, they were gorgeous, tho needless to say I've done absolutely nothing with them yet!

message 532: by Lexie (last edited Jan 08, 2013 02:14AM) (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Did anyone see the section on it on Kirstie's Homemade Home? I missed the programme but have the book - it looks lovely.

I've done the decoupage bit from that book - it was completely addictive! Don't know what to do with two papier mache birds of non-specific breed, though (and don't talk to me about feet).

How did the exam go, Elle?

Couple of pictures of the usual standard on my blog.

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments You're very kind!

message 535: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Love the birdies, Lexie.
Doing my family history research, there were a family of basket weavers from Devon, way way back! Don't think I've inherited that knack tho. Sounds too hard on the fingers.

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments If anyone wants a laugh at my felt-making today, it's on my blog (one day I'll find a way of attaching pictures here).

Its wonderful!!! Reminds me of the beefburgers we got in the canteen at college. No idea how they managed to get them that shape, but we called them sombreros.
