Something microsoft, which explains why you don't see them anymore

My dragons are nectar fuelled.

I went back to the beginning of this thread, and guess what I've written two. If anyone would like to ask me anything about them, fire away. If anyone would like to remind me what I wrote, I can answer the questions and have a better basis for writing book three.

Still can't see the Alloria cover

message 310: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments Hang on, was one Fuel to the Fire?

That's the one I assumed to be an analysis of Coal Board Accounts 1944 to 1953
Most sets of accounts could be published as fantasy anyway. Even without adding in the dragons :-))

message 311: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I rather like the idea of a dragon stoker...
In my mind's eye, I've already cast Julianne Hough as Davran, all glistening skin as she stokes those fires in her skimpies...

Ahem!

message 312: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments mmm "Dragon Stoker" can I have that for my third title? Didn't he have something to do with Dracula?

Sparkly skin no... skimpies, OK

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments That was Bram Stoker. He has some connection with Dublin. On my bus journey into the city centre I pass a cafe called Bram's Cafe and I was amused to see there is now a beauty salon 2 doors down from it called 'Sparkles'

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Fuel to the fire had a good 5* review on Amazon recently.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book 26 Feb 2013
By Megan

A really great read, by a new author. I thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy story with fantastic descriptive writing. The characters are cleverly crafted and very interesting; a girl brought up as a boy, a father deploying amazing survival skills and a mysterious mother. They live in a scary world of contrasts inhabited by mysterious creatures and unpredictable events.
I was gripped from page one, am starting the sequel straight away!
Well worth reading.

Sells it better than I did, I think. Gripped from page one: I can think of no better compliment.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments She also picked up on the 'fantastic descriptive writing' which always does it for me!

Nice to get a bit of recognition for your work, isn't it?

Edit - to say isn't it instead of isn't nit!

message 321: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments very nice indeed

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments For any who would care to know, I'm almost ready to publish my next novel "Alloria" and am busy planning for a third book in the "Fuel to the Fire" series. A great big thank you to everyone who's read book one and two.

message 324: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments Congratulations David, hope they do well

Amen to that, I've bought the first book and who knows, I might even have finished the second one by the time the third one comes out.

Cheers

MTM

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Did Nightwing sneak in or something?

message 331: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I do have dragons in my books, but they are generally very well mannered. I shall have words; hopefully at least 80,000 in book three.

message 332: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Opinions please. I'm soon publishing my new title "Alloria" which is not a part of the "Fuel to the Fire" series. I wonder if I should then change the heading of my author thread, and if so should I subtitle it with Alloria, or have no reference to any of the books?

message 333: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments David wrote: "Opinions please. I'm soon publishing my new title "Alloria" which is not a part of the "Fuel to the Fire" series. I wonder if I should then change the heading of my author thread, and if so should ..."

The only real solution is to be like me and take so long to write the blummin books that 9999 posts is easily achieveable before the next one. OK, if you can stick it on, do. Otherwise, start a new thread with your name as opposed to the books, promote the new book and with any luck both will thrive but if this one dies, so long as the new one points to your profile (and from there to your books) I'm guessing you're fine.

Cheers

MTM

PS re wading through the short, please, please, please tell me I said thanks. If not. Thanks.

message 334: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Quite a few people seem to change their thread title when a book comes out, or the "this thread is about" link, or both.

You can always change it to something else when the book has been out for a while.

message 335: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Thanks Tim and MTM. I'll probably go for the new title for a bit then.

Yes MTM you did thank me.

message 336: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Good. Hmm... thinking I should change the name of my thread... or even resurrect it.

message 337: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments You're only allowed one thread in this section, so you can't go creating a new thread with your name on it (although you can rename this one). But you can - and should - create a thread for the book in the New Releases section once it is out.

message 338: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments There you go. Thanks Tim.

message 339: by David (last edited Mar 08, 2013 03:07PM) (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I looked for yours MT and couldn't find it, so it must be deeply burried.

message 340: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I didn't know there was a new release section. I really should have a good look around this site.

message 341: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments I just have one thread in this section. To be honest they drop very rapidly off the radar. But each time a new book comes out I start a thread for it in the new releases section

message 342: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I think it's valid to add a 'refreshed' title to you existing thread but definitely scroll down a bit and look at the New Releases section. Read the rules first though. The sin bin is a lonely place. Or maybe not. Will's got his own chair and tea-mug in there!

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Tell him to put the kettle on then

message 344: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments David wrote: "Tell him to put the kettle on then"

It has to be said that you can normally get enough writers in the sin bin for a game of cards

(or even five a side football when Patti is on form)

message 345: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Hey, Alloria is live! Got my copy!

message 346: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Pish tosh.

The sin bin is usually empty.

I don't let threads stay in there for very long before I send them forever into the ether.

I find that remarkably invigorating, I might add.

message 347: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I'm guessing it's mostly men that sin, so presumably the card game is "find the lady"

message 348: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Come on then lad. Start that New Release thread!

message 349: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments As Ignite says above "Alloria" is now live. Fingers crossed that it's as well received as "Fuel to the Fire" was. You can find it here:
