That is my favorite Historical Romance ever! Nothing can compare for me but I continue to hope for another saga like that one (minus the others in the series) did you like it? Have you ever read anything like it before?

I'm reading An Echo Through the Snow by Andrea Thalasinos. Two stories are woven together. One takes place in Siberia in 1929, the other takes place in Wisconsin in 1992. It's a fascinating story about dogs, racing,love and survival. A good read.

Currenlty Reading and listening to

Finished The Day of the Locust. Did not like it at all. Starting Dark Places. Loved Gone Girl & am looking forward to both these Flynn books being made into movies.

Just started Major Pettigrew's Last Stand for my library's book club this month.

Just started Apple Tree Hill by Louise Doughty. Wow - it's terrific so far!

I will definitely seek out other novels she has written.

I liked it Beth. It is definitely worth the read. There were a couple of aspects I didn't think were necessary but all in all it was good. I rated 4 stars.

I'm Lela and I recently finished a trilogy called The Song of Life by Tony Chandler. Very entertaining read and a remarkable modern moral fable. Read the 3 books to your kids if you have them - read it for yourself if not!

Highly recommended!!

Hello all, I am currently reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. I am a little less than half way through and so far I like it. A good number of you have probably read it already. I like to know your thoughts on whether you enjoyed it or not.

Paola, I loved Edgar Sawtelle. The characters are so nuanced and layered and the story is great!

I'm reading I shall be Near You by Erin Lindsay McCabe.

I needed something less painful after "Twelve Years a Slave,". So, I am reading "The Fall" by Annelie Wedenberg. ( A British mystery -- easy reading.)

Just finished Dark Places. Fabulous! Starting Tobacco Road.

This was a really good book. I don't know if it's a keeper or not but definitely an interesting story. I remember not being thrilled with the ending.

Thanks to everyone for their opinion. I have heard the ending is a bit disappointing for some from the reviews. Definitely an interesting plot.

Just finished Twelve Years a Slave and it should be required reading in all American history courses .

Hi I'm currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini who also wrote the Kite Runner and The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult. One address Nazi Germany and the other Afghanistan's tumultuous history. Both are very good. Also recently enjoyed Light Between the Oceans and Little Bee is another favourite.

The Storyteller was good, but I enjoy most by Jodi Picoult

Hi. I'm Lela from Mt Vernon, WA -- the most beautiful area in the "lower 48!"
I am currently reading lots of things. One is the latest in The Shetland Series by A. Cleeves and another is "Save the Bones" by Shannon O 'Donnell. The latter is about the author's mother's journey into Alzheimer's. It's interesting, sad, frustrating, and informative without being pedantic. It's even funny in spots. Shannon & her mom are courageous people!

Finished Save the Bones, Dead Water, Locked and started Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin.

I am reading "CONVENTION' by Michael Cormier... Loving it! Initially, it is set in Boston, which is always a draw. More importantly, I'm already caught up in the main characters!!!
Truly enjoying it!

I have about 4 books that I am reading right now, but I would like to concentrate most on "Healing the Sick" , by T.L. Osborn.
I'm also currently working on my second Novel, so reading and re-reading that. :)

Probably but then I won't do anything else this month!

Since there is ANOTHER huge snowstorm in the forecast for Sun/Mon/Tues I will have plenty of time to sit in the house and read and dream of spring.

Just finished The Shipping News. Enjoyed it very much. A little disjointed at times. Continuing with American Gods, which I'm enjoying.
