NOS4A2 was great!

message 5: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (crackedx_spine) I've seen a lot of people talking about NOS4A2. I'll definitely have to check it out.

How is that series so far Dustin? Song of Ice and Fire.

message 12: by Dustin (new)

Dustin It is fantastic, and only gets better, more intense, and more insane with each installment! Thank you for asking!

message 13: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments George R R Martin is simply amazing. Loved Ice and Fire! Reading Currency of Souls by Kealan Patrick Burke (mind bending book) and Moon by James Herbert right now.

Awesome! I have been wondering about that one.

Wow! And I thought I was bad trying to keep up with three books at a time. LOL

LOL. I'm not real good on impulse control when it comes to reading, if I get excited by something I want to read it NOW and so cause I can, I do :-) hence several books on the go.

message 21: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (silentredemption) | 6 comments I'm reading the Princess Bride because I grew up on the movie and wanted to read the book. It's interesting and goes in to more detail of the background stories of the characters. I really enjoy it so far. The Princess Bride

I typically like to read the book and then watch the movie, but people are different on their preferences. Hope you enjoy the rest of the book!

message 23: by Erica (new)

Erica (bookpsycho) Started reading Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk.

Adam's spot-on: GRRM is amazing, very awe inspiring, IMO. A Game of Thrones can be a bit hard to get into at first, mostly because of all the characters, but it doesn't take very long to get to know them.:) Once that happens, you can't help but love (and loathe,) them!

I'm just starting The Ocean at the End of the Lane and I'm reading Joyland after that! What did you think of The Ocean?

message 30: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Haunted was my first of his. It gets mediocre reviews, if memory serves. I liked it. It was bizarre and different than most of why I read. I have now read several of his books and recommend Invisible Monsters.. Chuck is sometimes impossible to read. Pygmy gave me a headache.

message 31: by Scott (new)

Scott Michelle wrote: "I'm just starting The Ocean at the End of the Lane and I'm reading Joyland after that! What did you think of The Ocean?"

I enjoyed it. It was a quick little "fairy tale". The type that he is so good at telling.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Janie wrote: "Cindy Joyland was awesome. I got my hub reading it now. LOL"

Thanks Janie. I will have to keep that in mind. Don't think I have the desire to read Black House anymore though. Not now at least.

message 37: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Black House is a difficult read, but well worth it, IMO. Then again, I'm pretty biased when it comes to King.

Dustin wrote: "Black House is a difficult read, but well worth it, IMO. Then again, I'm pretty biased when it comes to King."

I need to read more of his books and I'll probably catch hell saying this BUT I think I like his son (Joe Hill) just a bit better so far.

message 39: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Oh, that's okay, Cindy. To each their own, I always say.:)

message 45: by Char (new)

Char I just started Sineater!

message 46: by Jason (new)

Jason Parent | 69 comments Me too, Adam and Brenda!

Charlene, do you know if any of the movies about sineaters were based on Massie's book?

message 47: by Char (new)

Char According to one of my group members, one of the movies (it may have been the one with Heath Ledger) was based on a Christian fiction book.
As far as I know, none of the movies are based on this particular book.
I was reading a little about sineaters yesterday and found out that it is an old ritual in some countries.

message 48: by Jason (last edited Jul 02, 2013 12:49PM) (new)

Jason Parent | 69 comments Yeah... didn't like the Heath Ledger one - The Order, I believe.

It is an interesting concept, though. I think I could probably use one nearby when I'm dying... betting that I will, I'll just keep on sinning. :) If it's a good book, I'll check it out.
