I'm enjoying Hyperion so far, really impressed. Been a while since I read sci-fi like this one :)

I've just finished my Dan Simmons book A Winter haunting, it was fantastic, very creepy, especially when you start to figure out what's going on.
My wrist will be ok, it's all strapped up, thanks for asking about it Dustin,:) I can read more of The Devil in White City now.

Well, I'm unable to only read one book at a time, that's why I'm currently reading 4 books. But one is an advice book on how to prepare yourself for a tattoo, so that doesn't really count as a book. The other three are: Déjame que te cuente by Jorge Bucay, Herr Lehmann by Sven Regener and A Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

I'm currently on The End (A Series of Unfortunate Events #13). Finishing my reread of the whole ASOUE series is my final goal of 2013.

I'm exactly the same as you Yanice:) I've always got a few on the go. I'm just starting Dead Sea by Tim Curran as well as a couple of others

I really want to read more Simmons, his sci-fi especially. I've only read Carrion Comfort so far.

I am 7% into it. Had to work all day, so just getting started.

I've got hooked from the begining Adam. I'm tired tonight, I've got some pain meds that are making me dizzy, not sure how long I can see for so night guys , talk tomorrow.

Funny, Angie. I still have some pain meds from when I slammed my hand in the car door on Thanksgiving, and I took a couple an hour ago and all I want to do is go write a novel.
Unfortunately my wife has my laptop, so I am enjoying the creeping dread of Dead Sea. Oddly, I thought this was going to be a zombie book, so I was surprised by the premise. Haven't read any reviews. Anyome else make it at least 10% yet.

I'm awake now, have been for a couple of hours. But I pretty much passed out last night! I'll be making 10% today Adam so I'll have caught up to you:) I hope your head doesn't feel as bad as my arm, I've turn my muscles in a fall. It's all strapped up so I don't make it worse.

Currently reading City of Ashes. Haven't read more than half a chapter yet, but I think I'll like it :)

Wow, you guys should stay in and read for a while so you're wounds have a chance to heal! It's a tough time of year to have injuries like those, with the holidays coming up and all the running around involved. You have the perfect reason for rest, relaxation and reading:)

I got a little sidetracked with a couple James Patterson reads. Read yesterday and about to tear through the second half of . Maybe then I can get back to my CR--it'll probably be a miracle if something else doesn't strike me as interesting enough to start reading about in the meantime, though. I've almost just about altogether given up with trying to plan reads, heh.

So for Christmas I was brought a number of books and have found myself reading most of them all at once. Have broken one of my resolutions before even getting to 2014 by reading so many books at once.

I just looked at that Dustin, but I think I'm going to start the zombie reform school book. Its short, and sounds like awesome fun!! Something light:)

It sounds like you're describing my experience reading Ted Dekker.

Their styles are pretty similar. Dekker's far better, IMO. I'm sorry to hear you had a negative experience with his work. Which one did you try?

Reading The Screaming Staircase. Liking the horror, but the MCs can be annoying.

I'm starting Rock and Roll Reform school for zombies.

I guess I'll get back to my Julian Barnes book tonight . I am hoping to at least finish this one and one more this year.

I feel like I've been playing catch up with my book as well! Not much reading got done over the past few days.

The holidays, and family visiting, places to go, etc, has left little time to read. And then it's only 15-20m here or there, slow going. But working on Eye of the World by Robert Jordan.
Once school starts again I should get back into it more.

I have finished two books today both Karin Slaughter - Unseen and David Beckham's autobiography. I am now going to work on finishing a Revolutionary Road which I seem to have been reading for ages.

I'm currently reading The Lightning Thief a kid's book I got at a Christmas market. After that I will read Allegiant and then either A Monster Calls or The Eye of the World

I'm nearly half way through eye of the world, its the 2nd time I've read it and its even better this time around!

Cool, Dustin. I have it, but I just had to read Joyland. About 35
pages in and the King vibrations are soaking in. I wish I had not seen Life Of Pi movie, or I would be itching to read this with you.

Yes, I think the film is amazing! Adam, I was somewhat hesitant about reading it, but a GR friend convinced me that it's worth it, despite seeing the film 8 or 9 months ago. And so far, she was right. I'm loving it! If you're up for it, please feel free to join me. I just started and so I'm only 40 pages in..

Cheryl- your Christmas money acquisition sounds very insightful! You'll have to keep me posted.:)
