I finished Nalini's book on the way to RWA national conference. Read it on the plane--LOVED it. It is an excellent book.
Got to sign my steampunk fantasy romance books at the literacy signing--sold more than half of them for literacy. Did not get around to buying books from all the authors I wanted to...
Don't know how much of the rest of this list I'll get read--the grandboys are visiting, two of them, anyway--and we're doing stuff with them. Having lots of fun and not reading much besides "Go Dog, Go!" We'll just see how it goes.

Well, that's it--#9 has been finished. Demons Not Included seems to be the first novel in a new series by Cheyenne McCray (or at least, when I checked Amazon there weren't any others showing) Since this was the first book by her that I've read, I don't know if this is set in any of her other worlds or if this is a new world. But she did seem to have lots of books and several other series.

I decided to switch out Thorn Queen for Darkfever for my fae selection; I'd grown a little impatient waiting for Thorn Queen to be released next week. I was surprised at how much I liked Darkfever. For me, everything moved at the right pace for a series, especially one with a cliff hanger ending. There were a few passages that I found to be redundant, like the heroine discussing her appearance and figure, and love of pink and what not. However, I love cliff hanger endings and I look forwared to reading the rest of this series.

Kelly,
Possible suggestions for aliens/space category:
Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series - the vamps here have alien ancestry...I call this series BDB-lite because of a touch of similarity to Ward's famous series, but less intense.
Linnea Sinclair's Dock Five Universe series - I've read the first two books and I enjoyed it very much. First book is Gabriel's Ghost.
Jayne Castle (aka Jayne Ann Krentz) Harmony series - Alien technology and dust bunnies, ghost hunters and mysterious catacombs...what else can I say?
Hope that gives you ideas.

I feel like I'm dying from exhaustion but no rest for the wicked here... oh no, now I have my "helpers" AKA "slaves" er Um I mean... my kids... so we are going to have to work hard to get my exchange student's room ship shape for her arrival on the 8th!
So I'm not sure I'm going to get much further along. LOL Maybe one or two more books?

I subbed The Automatic Detective for other alien books. The main character is a robot, but he's dealing with aliens... It was a cute story (though Alex would probably cringe, if he heard me say that).
Got the Jewel book read last week, and enjoyed it a lot too.
I might get the last one read before Friday...

oohhh Lenore, a new baby. What kind? My "baby" is pushing 6 now and is a common old American Shorthair. But SHE thinks she's the Empress of the world. :o) Her name is Bastette, and yes, she really DOES think she's a goddess. She's white, black and rust.
And we all know that new babies require lots of love and affection. Just until they KNOW they have you wrapped around that little claw. Then they know that they are the rulers of the house. Enjoy her while she's still little and cuddley. They turn into teenagers way to fast. At least with human "babies" you've got a few years. Cats go from baby to teenager in only a year.
