Tati Got it now, thanks!

Kate ★ (spillsandspoils) | 973 comments And then dependeing on the number of pages, that's what we add to 1? so if it's 200+ pages, the I will move 2 spaces, thus reaching 3? If that right?

message 103: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
Correct ☺

message 104: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessa_ioana) | 1861 comments What will we do in cases of books that have different page numbering based on the edition?
Example: This version of Shiver: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... has 390 pages = 3 squares
But, if I want to read it as a white cover and choose this cover for it: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9... [it says it has 432 pages=4 squares]
If I submit this as a read for the challenge will you take it as a 3 squares book or a 4 squares one?

message 105: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
How many squares do you want to move?

message 106: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
This edition is white Тръпка (Вълците от Мърси Фолс, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater and is listed as 311 pages if you want to move 3 spaces?

message 107: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessa_ioana) | 1861 comments Oh, so I can choose the edition with the nr. of pages I want to move?

message 108: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
Yes ☺

message 109: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessa_ioana) | 1861 comments how many points do we lose if we hit a snake?

message 110: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53686 comments Mod
That's a good question Tessa!

message 111: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
You don't immediately lose points. at the end of the game, the number square that you are on will be eqal to how many bonus points you get. so if you end on square 50, you get 50 bonus points.
the only way to lose ponts due to a snake is if you go down one, and don't get back up. so if you get to square 89, hit the snake, and drop to square 26, if that is where you then end the game, you'll only get 26 bonus points not 89.
does that make sense?

message 112: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53686 comments Mod
Oh right thanks!

message 113: by Tessa (last edited Jan 27, 2014 01:22PM) (new)

Tessa (tessa_ioana) | 1861 comments Ok, so we basically lose no point if we hit the snake at 85, read a 200 page novel and get back to 84 and continue again from there. I just want to know if we can use the snakes to not end our game prematurely without having any extra penalties added to it besides the obvious point on the table loss.

message 114: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments You don't get any other penalties for going down the snakes. :)

message 115: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53686 comments Mod
Unless you don't get caught there at the end haha.

message 116: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessa_ioana) | 1861 comments I'll be careful to not use the snakes if I feel I have no time left to get back up :) .

Would Arclight (Arclight, #1) by Josin L. McQuein count as a suspense book?

message 118: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53686 comments Mod
I really don't think I'll read that many books in Feb as to get to the top but we'll see haha.

No, there aren't any penalties, going down a snake to prolong the game is fine! ☺

Alright thanks haha.

What would The House of the Scorpion (Matteo Alacran, #1) by Nancy Farmer be?

message 133: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
That would count for white, blue, or green, or if you used this cover - La Maison du scorpion by Nancy Farmer Red.

message 134: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53686 comments Mod
Alright thanks. Blue's what I'm after haha.

Wait! If you stop on the ladder square you don't read that book do you? You just go straight up the ladder and then read the book the ladder lands you on?

Correct ☺

message 137: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Kennedy (laurenxo) Would this The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith count for a green cover?

message 138: by Maddie (new)

Lauren wrote: "Would this The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) by Robert Galbraith count for a green cover?"

Even looking at the cover with the most green on it, I don't think the green covers 60% of the cover -

so it wouldn't count unfortunately :(

message 140: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Kennedy (laurenxo) Another question, for the cover scavenger hunt thing, would this count as a cover with puzzle/jigsaw pieces on it? I don't know if it's technically a puzzle or a jigsaw though. Wideacre (Wideacre, #1) by Philippa Gregory

message 141: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53686 comments Mod
Good question lol.

message 142: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90931 comments Mod
no sorry, i think that's supposed to be like broken pottery or something rather than puzzle pieces :(

message 144: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Kennedy (laurenxo) Damn. Thought I had my books picked out but the yellow and green tiles are difficult. I have nearly 100 books that I own in my TBR and still I'm having trouble with it!
