It's not really yellow enough unfortunately. I have the hardback and its more an ivory colour than yellow.

Quick question. So each box is a different color, and each color means a different type of book right? But the first square on the chart is yellow, so does that mean everyone starts with a yellow book, or does that mean that's the square you will land in if you read a book that only moves you one space?

Everyone starts on square 1, so everybody starts with a book that fits the yellow square ☺

Can you use books from the same series, but in a different order. Like first read harry potter three and then later, when convenient, read harry potter 1?

Yes ☺ you don't have to read the books in any particular order at all ☺

Say you read a book that is over 699 pages, can I still read it and if so, do I move six spaces?

Yes ☺ a book from 700 to 799 pages would be worth 7 points. 800-899 would be 8 points etc. ☺

For the yellow squares, do we have to read the exact cover shown for the 'cover scavenger hunt' options? Can it be another edition with more/less pages?

You don't have to read the exact edition, as long as it's the same book or same series it's fine ☺

If I climb up the ladder from square 28 to 84 and then reach square 89 to fall down the snake to square 26. Do I lose points after I climb 28 up to 84 again (or are the points regained since I reached a higher number at the end)?

The only way you can lose points doing that, is if you can't reach the number you was at originally (before having to go down the snake) at the end of the challenge.

Ooh, Thanks for the clarification. Since my planned route was too short that means I can use the snakes to my advantage :D

The snakes seem bad, but they can be a bit of help. :)

It all comes to planning, really. You could go straight to the top, and end the game quickly, or gather a few more points before you reach the top.

You just need to be able to get back up if you go down! Haha.

wow, it's so great idea, you're awesome guys! but i guess i just have too many things to do in school + i'm in other reading challenge (not in this group) so i think i'll pass. but it's really great though!
