ARCHIVE - PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF ~

I’m Sportyrod. I joined this club because I like history. I read popular books sometimes but I’m more of an off-the-beaten-track reader. I like reading about places I know less about. Historical saga is my favourite genre. I live in Hobart, Australia.
Cheers,
Sportyrod

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box). It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

You might want to include an example of the full citation as the sample versus the exception - one with no author's photo. You can always include both.

I am Kate from Toronto, Canada. I read a huge range of books. One of my favourite history books is

My name is Becca from Indonesia.
I love reading, especially non-fiction.
I am pretty fond of the history of Russia (Soviet Union), WW1 and WW2.
I hope that through this group I could have great discussion with people of like minded! Cheers! :)

I’m Shelby and I live in Denver CO. I’m an art history major. Thank you for letting me be in the club!
Glad you found the thread. You might have been trying to post in one of the archived closed threads.

I live in the Memphis, TN area. I am a retired elected official and have technology expertise. Being visually impaired now,I rely on audible and “screenreader”.
I now consult with government agencies and corporations specializing in disable persons in the workforce and government administration.
Reading incessantly, my passions include history, especially on the American Revolution, and genealogy.
I’m looking forward to learning from our group members!

I love reading about history and suspense with history background. I read a lot about WWII because my Dad fought during the war.
I'm going enjoy being around other history buffs.

I am Mahima, I am a final year law student and have always enjoyed reading History and historical fiction. I grew up around people who weren't very big on books and in college, there is hardly anyone who share my tastes, so I haven't had an opportunity to discuss my readings much. I am very excited about this club! Hoping to have interesting discussions with you all!
What a nice introduction, David. We welcome you to The History Book Club. It's great that you were able to connect with your grandfather through history.

My name is Magnus and I'm a passionate time traveller. Next stop: The Roaring Twenties in Berlin.
Okay, admittedly I travel in my head most of the time- no, all the time (mustn’t lose track of reality). To the best of my knowledge, the physical time-travel industry is still in its infancy. But I'll be their first passenger when they're ready. Honest. Anybody else?

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box). It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.
