The Mermaid's Pendant 3 stars
This is a modern retelling of The Little Mermaid. It is told in part in the Caribbean and the other half in Boston. It is a very creative spin on the story. The author does a beautiful job creating the atmospheric details, you feel like you are there.It is a beautiful story and it would be a great summer read.

I'm not sure if I could've made it acting like I was in the 1800s for a month. I love my shower too much. This book was a joy to read as the characters played a game in the wilderness. Mira's boyfriend Scott is a total jerk but loved seeing her finally stand up to him. Loved all the banter between the characters especially with Kevin's point of view on the male characters. It was a great book. Excited to read the next one.

This was a murder mystery set in Hilo, Hawaii. I have been waiting for awhile to read this with some excitement but now I feel like I just wasn't connected with this story.
