No Sarah, I'll be honest... it's from wondering what that stuff was that they put under their noses in the autopsy scene in The Silence of the Lambs... only found out a few years later what it actually was. Not sure how, but it might be from reading the book actually.

I bought a selection of cheese from a continental market here and had to store them in a friends garage the smell was so bad.We then had to transport them 300mls the car stank for days.Phil wanted to throw them out after 20 minutes.

urgh, can't even begin to imagine lol. Especially if the car was hot and the cheese fairly ripe !

If my memory serves me right it was in June Lorraine.They were a present for friends we were staying with for a few days.They loved them.

Lol imagine if they didn't !! If I had to travel with stinky cheese and the recipients weren't happy I'd think I'd forcefully cram said cheeses down their throats lol !

I now have a picture of that in my mind Lorraine,there were some odd shapes as well as smells.HeHe.Thanks for the laugh Petal off to bed now,have to get up at 6.30am,Sleep well!

Yes, Vicks is a must in Post Mortems. I'm trying to dig Pete up but can't remember where I buried him in my garden! lol

The vicks trick really works, i used that when i was in the anatomy labs at uni. Until I learnt to love the smell...

i will point out that the smell was of formaldehyde and not decaying bodies :o) so its wasnt a horrible smell!

I wouldn't hurt my pooches anyway! I got in touch with her foundation once about a deformed cow in a neighbour's farm and they ignored me. ;-( This cow can't use it's front legs, walks on it's elbows and has laminitis (overgrown hooves)not good at all. Two years later it's still sitting in a field suffering, just can't get anyone to take notice of my complaints!

Sad really.

That's awful Mel and having to see it is in many ways as painful for you as for the poor beast.Is there no RSPCA equivalent in France?

Yes there is but they're obviously less proactive than in the UK :(

I've tried to get help, but no one is willing to help me! ;-( It is awful to see every day Sarah, you're right!

Just a thought,could you buy the cow from him and we could adopt him or something,I would love to help and I am sure others would.

What about talking to a local vet and see if there's anything they advise you to do Mel?

I've asked several vets Lorraine and they just shrug as though it's normal.
