I'd also like to thank Lorraine for her awesome review, lovely to wake up to this morning.

This book easily gets a 5-star from me. I was totally engrossed in it, and was so very quickly at the beginning of the book, quickly being pulled into the life of Lorne Simpkins, and it's very few ups and lots of downs. The story is well written, cleverly covering the various aspects of Lorne's life and tying it with the murder plot without making it difficult for the reader to follow.
DI Simpkins is one seriously awesome copper, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, even if I'm a bit sad already that her partner is going to die (no spoiler, it's in the blurb). Really liked DS Pete Childs and they made a fab team. But I know already that the next books are going to keep me entertained anyway :)
A recommended read. And do get it in paperback if you don't have a kindle :)

haha! I'm not sure if you know Lorne Spicer off the TV, she's an antique specialist. I've always loved her name and pinched it!

Pronounce it as Lorn as in rhyming with Torn. ;-)

I didn't know of that Lorne woman. The only time I ever heard the name Lorn I think that was in Angel, the series, wasn't it the name of the green diablo looking thing?

Gosh, not sure about Lorn in Angel, but there used to be a male actor called Lorne/Lorn Greene, not sure how he spelt it.
