Spy School super-promotion!

Lots of good things have been happening lately.  One of the nicest is Barnes & Noble’s decision to heavily promote Spy School for the holiday season.  Wander into the young readers section of your local B&N, and chances are you’ll see this:

Check it out!  Spy School right there along with the works of masters like [...]

Best school visit yet

What’s the best thing about writing books for kids?  Meeting my audience.  And there’s no better way to do that than to visit a school.
I’ve been doing more and more school visits lately, and they’re all great fun, because 8-12 year old kids are wonderfully engaged and ask great questions.  When you talk to a [...]

Spy School at Spy Museum

A friend of mine who is an Afghan foreign policy specialist in Washington DC (yes, I really do have friends who do cool things like that) just reported in from a trip to the Spy Museum this weekend.  (The Spy Museum, for the record, is a really fun place to visit in DC, as evidenced [...]

How to write an on line review

Many people out there have reviewed my books on line by now, and I thank all of you for doing this.  Well, I thank all of you who have given my books good ratings (which is most of you).  If you’ve given my books a bad rating… well, the less said, the better.
However, you might [...]

Spy School sales spike!

Good news, book fans!  Spy School sales have really taken off lately.  We’re not exactly at Harry Potter levels, but the trend is encouraging.
Why the sudden spike?  There are many possible reasons:
1) Lots of folks who have just read Belly Up are eager to get my next book.
2) The cool new James Bond ‘Skyfall’ trailer [...]

Last Musketeer 3 release date

[ March 26, 2013; ] I know this isn't happening for another few months, but the final book in the Last Musketeer trilogy is now set to hit stores on March 26, 2013.  I have just received the cover art and I have to say, of the three books in the series, this cover is definitely my favorite:

I mean, the [...]

Space shuttle flyover!

For those of you who’ve been reading this blog religiously over the past few years, you know that I have a strong affinity for the space shuttle.  In fact, this blog launched on the very same week as the space shuttle Atlantis, the second launch I had the privilege to watch from the VIP stands. [...]

Belly Up smacks down Goodnight Gorilla!

Amazon.Com has some very strange book lists.  You’re probably not aware of this, because you don’t obsessively check your book sales every day.  But I do, so I am aware of it.
Belly Up is categorized under ‘Children’s Books’, subheading ‘Animals’, subheading ‘Zoos’.  Which makes sense… until you see what other books are in the category. [...]

Where have I been?

Millions of you have written in over the last few weeks, pointing out the appalling gap in time there’s been since my last post.  Perhaps you even heard both Obama and Romney bring it up in their respective convention speeches:  Where, exactly, have I been?
The nice answer to give would be that I’ve been writing. [...]

Spy Camp Release Date

[ April 30, 2013; ] I know I'm posting this approximately eight months ahead of time, but people keep writing to me asking, "When is Spy Camp going to come out?"

As of now, the official release date is: April 30, 2013.

To answer everyone's next question: No, I can't do anything to make the book come out sooner.

If I could, I [...]
