She heard the gunshot and flew straight to him, "No! Are you hurt, did he get you?" She asked after she had shifted to human form. Scanning his body in panic

He tried to shift in his human form but he thought better of it. If he was human, he would have instantly died from the massive bullet in his side. It was puncturing his lung, actually but in his wolf form; it would heal faster and would be a clean-break. He made soft mewling sounds because right now his thoughts were in a disarray.

Rosie heard the hunter approach them. She went with her instincts and shifted to the most venomous thing she could think of. A water moccasin. She slithered toward him and when she saw him she bit his leg, until he fell to the ground. She shifted to her human form and looked down at him. Tears filled her eyes as she soon realized who she had just killed. Her dad. She ran for Collis trying to forget the image. She looked at his wound to see how deep the bullet was. She couldn't see it so she knew she was in trouble. "I may have to take you to a vet Collis. I don't think I can get it out." She cried moving his fur.

His vision was getting spotty. He did not saw anything but Rosie bloody leaning on him as she observed his wound. He tried to nod but he felt the movement was to much for him. 'Okay' he whispered in his thoughts as he struggled to stand but he fell right back as his legs won't hold him. He laid there waiting for Rosie to decide what's good for him. He looked at her closely to see tear in her eyes and he wondered who and what did that to her.

She pulled out her phone and called Shelton to get a ride. She looked at Collis and said, "This may be weird but it's the only way I can get you anywhere!" She shifted into a muscular man, with shorted blonde hair wearing the same clothes. She picked him up gently and carried him out of the woods as Shelton pulled up infront of them after Rosie had explained what happened. Once they were in the car Rosie laid his head on her lap and shifted back to her normal form, stroking this soft face. Shelton drove them to the closest animal hospital and explained the situation. Rosie didnt want to leave him but knew she had to trust the doctors.

He felt the pain in his side spread to his hind legs and all he could do as he saw Rosie, a man was a slight gasp before she carried him to a white SUV. He sighed as he felt Rosie touch his fur but it was only a small feeling. The bullet was dipped in some kind of poison, that's why he was his weak. His breathing turned from stable to short bursts. His vision dimmed and went dark completely.

Rosie cried as they took him away from her and took him to the ER. She sat in the waiting room with her brother and cried on his shoulder, "Thanks for coming." She said softly, "Of course! I'd do anything for the two of you! He is practically family now!" He said trying to comfort her. "Sh*t!" Rosie didnt curse very often so Shelton knew something was wrong. "What?" Shelton asked. "Diane! She's supposed to be coming over. Collis called her!" Rosie thought of what she might do or think if they weren't there. "Go get her please! Let her know what happened..." She said, "Ill stay here."

Shelton grabbed his stuff and ran to his car driving back to where Collis lived. Sure enough a girl was on his porch, Shelton stepped out of his van and said, "Are you Diane?" When she nodded he motioned her to the car, "Get in! It's Collis!" He said starting the car getting back in.

Diane was really pissed. Cole did not told her that Rosie and him were dating. I'm not jealous, she repeated in her voice. Maybe just a little bit but not in the sense of a bf-gf kind, it was more like a friend to friend relationship for them. She heard a car approaching and she knew it was a stranger's. But when the handsome guy got out, she was stunned because he has eyes that sparkle even from here. She nodded and got in. She then asked, "What happened?"

Back at the hospital, Collis felt like a steamroller flattened him to bits because he could not breathe. His breath was in and out in bursts and his vision darkened as he sent his last thought to Rose, 'Love...'.

Shelton raced to the hospital, "All I know is that he was shot while hunting... The bullet was too deep for Rosie to take out herself so we rushed him to the vet. I'm Shelton by the way, Rosie's brother." He said quickly, getting to the hospital as fast as possible.

Rosie lifted her face from her hands when she heard him in her thoughts. His voice echoed through her head, "Love..." Rosie cried harder and whispered, "I love you... I can't loose you... Please, hold on." Hoping that he might hear her.

Diane nodded, "I'm Diane, Cole's bestfriend." She was really worried because if Cole was shot and he did not recovered, she will accuse Rose for not keeping her promise. She kept quiet during the fast trip to the hospital and when she got out. She immediately went to the receptionist, "Where is Collis Bradley please."

Collis was floating in some kind of goo where he could not speak nor move. He was paralyzed and the only thing moving was his mind which was sending him mixed messages about being shot and Rose's face streaked with tears.

Shelton lead Diane to the waiting room where Rosie sat in tears. Shelton sat next to wrapping his arms around her. "Rosie... I can't stay much longer. I told mom that I'd only be gone for the weekend."

"It was dad..." She whispered in tears, "What?" Shelton asked in disbelief. "I killed dad, after he shot Collis." She looked at Shelton then Diane, "I'm so sorry." Rosie said to Diane.

Diane wanted to slap Rosie before but when she heard that Rosie killed her own father, her rage vanished and sat beside Rosie and she touched her hand, "It's going to be okay. If I Cole he would fight to the death for him to come for you." She smiled and she felt some tears on her eyes but she needed to stay strong.

Collis was swimming in an abyss where he can gradually move. He saw a light at the end of the abyss and immediately went to it to find that there was light shining at his face. He sat up and regretted it. 'How long did he slept' he thought as he touched a hand to his face where he found that he had a beard.

Rosie woke early and headed to the hospital. She went to the gift shop and bought another stuffed animal. This time it was little monkey holding a lollipop. She headed to the room and walked in slowly.

Shelton got up early and left a note on the door, Diane was coming over for breakfast but Shelton had a surprise!

'Meet me at the clearing by the river! -S'

Shelton waited with a picnic basket and lemonade.

Collis looked at around the room and he was surprised to see dozens of stuffed animals. He took the stuffed animal on his bed which was a wolf with a red-brown color and smiled. Whoever gave him this knows his secret and he needs to thank her or him for it.

Diane felt so surprised in her life when she saw a note on the door and when she saw the initial S. She got so excited that she laughed and changed into something more girly for him. She picked a black and white shirt with polka dots on the side and some black jeans since they were going out by the river. She went to the river and smiled as she saw Shelton there.

Rosie smiled as she shut the door, she went to put the monkey on his bed and saw him holding one of the stuffed animals she had given him, "Collis?" She whispered in shock, "Your awake!" She continued to whisper but kept it loud enough for him to hear

Shelton smiled when he saw Diane skipping towards him. He went to her and hugged her, spinning her in his arms. He breathed in the scent of her hair, "Good morning beautiful!" He smiled setting her down on the ground

Collis was happy that Rose was here with him. He opened his arms and motioned for her to come closer, "I am, Rose." He smiled as he watched her mouth open in shock.

Diane hugged him back. His sweet cologne was so like him that he hugged him even tighter, "Good morning Handsome," she greeted as he pulled back. She kissed him on the nose and settled on the blanket. These past few months, Shelton and her became close and it seems like she wasn't the only one crushing on him.

Rosie hugged him gently tears filling with joy, "I'm so glad your okay!" She whispered. She didnt want to let go of him and didnt know what to say, "Should I call Diane and Shelton?" She asked pulling back slowly looking at him with a smile.

Shelton smiled, "Surprise!!!!" He said sitting on the blanket, Shelton opened the basket pulling out different fruits and bread. "Homemade bread with fresh picked fruits!" He smiled spreading the food across the blanket on napkins an plates

He shook his head, "Shelton and Di? They're together?!" he exclaimed as he could not believe that Di would settle for a human. He did not let go of her hand because it seemed like forever since he ever saw her. "We didn't ate the meat like I promised you to yesterday."

Di smiled back as she got the bread from his hands and she pinched a little of it and she popped it into her mouth. "Hmmm, did you bake this?" he asked as she moaned. She took a bite more.

Rosie nodded with a smile, "Collis honey, it's been almost a year. You've been in a coma." She tried to smile but it soon faded. "It took Diane and I a good while to get used to you not being around all the time but we came to visit you everyday." Rosie said with a smile, "Some days we brought you stuffed animals. I got this monkey for you today." She said handing it to him.

Shelton nodded as he but into a strawberry, "Is it good? I'm not much of a baker." He smiled pulling a piece from the bread she had in her hand

Collis felt so much surprise that his mouth was hanging open, he quickly closed it. "I was in coma for a year?!" he asked as he saw a clock in front of him with a date on it, May 28, 2013. He laid on the bed, trying to digest the fact that one year had passed.

Di nodded, "Yes it is!" as she smiled. She took a strawberry and she slowly sucked the tip in a seductive gesture.

"Hey, don't panic, your awake now, that the important thing." She smiled at him and squeezed his hand gently, "I missed you so much." Rosie whispered with a smile.

Shelton tried some, "Wow! Eh- I'm still not good at baking!" He smiled and looked up at her, "Your not cheating on me with that strawberry are you?" He teased her with a smirk

He shook out his reverie, "I missed you too, Rose." He smiled as he took the monkey from her and asked, "I think this is a she, don't you? I think we should call her Hope since she was the one who brought me hope to wake me up."

Di laughed, "I don't know." She looked at him with a teasing gaze, "Are you jealous of a strawberry, Shelton?"

Rosie smiled, "I like that. Now lets call the nurse and see how soon we can get you out of here, I have alot I need to tell you." She wanted to tell him that her dad was the one who did this to him but she thought it would be better if she waited until he was out of the hospital.

Shelton smirked, "Nope!" He snatched the strawberry and took a big bite, "Because now your little boyfriend is dead!" He teased.

He sighed as he laid Hope aside, "Alright." He watch her press a button above him and a male doctor entered, smiling. "I see that our patient is awake. Let me check your vitals to see if you're ready to go," the doctor said with a smile. He nodded as the doctor, Dr. Orson took his stethoscope from his neck to check his heart beat. After a few minutes he smiled again, "You're ready to go." He turned to Rosie, "Come with me to sign the papers."

Di pretended to weep, "No! He was really good to me and you killed him!" She playfully smacked his arm as she got another strawberry, "I'm not worrying though since I found a new one." She cooed to the berry like a bf.

Rosie was excited to finally take him home. "Ill be right back. Why don't you get dressed." She smiled squeezing his hand before letting it go, "But if you don't have the energy, the hospital robe looks nice too!" She smiled following the doctor to sign the papers.

Shelton pouted, "A strawberry is stealing my girl!" He stuck out his bottom lip like a little kid. "I won't stand for this anymore!" He tackled her laughing, laying her on the grass, "I'm sure that strawberry couldn't do this!" He smirked and kissed her tenderly.

He nodded and when he saw a bag full of his clothes he tried to stand up and failed. He really was weak and his wolf was itching to get free. He looked down to see that his body was all thin and pale. Not like a year ago wear he was muscled and tanned. He sighed as he waited for Rose to come back to tell her that he needed to use a wheelchair to get him out of here.

She smiled against his lips as Shelton kissed her. This is what she like about him. At first, he was serious and looked much older than her but when she melted his icy demeanor he was laughing and fun to be with. She pushed him to get up, "Hey, we need to eat what you made, Shelton or it will go to waste because you like kissing me. We can do that later."

Rosie signed the papers as fast as she could and headed back to the room as fast as she could. When Collis told her she would need to get him a wheel chair she nodded and called for them to bring one for them. "So which stuffed animals would you like to keep?" She asked pulling them from shelves, picking them off the floor and onto the chairs.

Shelton smiled and rolled off of her, "Whatever you say!" He smiled popping some grapes into his mouth. "No more strawberries for you!" He laughed pulling the container towards him.

"I like to keep all of them but I think I'm going to held onto Hope and the wolf," pointing to the wolf still on the bed. He smiled as he thought of something, "How are we going to get home?" he asked because he knows that she does not have a car to drive or maybe she has and he didn't know about it.

Di laid there and she rolled on to her left side, "Give me some," she told him as she opened her mouth. She really was enjoying this day with him.

"I got my dads old car." Rosie said with a soft smile putting the stuffed wolf and hope in the bag with his clothes. She grabbed some of the others, "I guess I can donate these to little kids in the hospital." She said looking up at him.

Shelton tossed a couple of grapes at Diane and laughed because she didnt catch a single one, "Hey your supposed to eat it not waste it!!" He teased tossing another pne

"No!" he shouted and he was surprised to realize that he had the attention of the nurses outside. "What I meant was, don't give them to charity. I will keep all of those since you gave them to me so when the time's right I'll give them when I'm better."

Di frowned, "You threw the grapes at my face, Shelton. Not in my mouth." She picked 2 grapes that he threw and she threw it at his face, "Like this and that is why I didn't get any because you're a bad shooter."

Rosie giggled, "Alright, we can keep them!" She started putting the stuffed animals in the bag and looked at him, "Now lets get you into that wheel chair." She smiled moving the wheelchair closer to him, helping him into it.

"Nuh uh!" He laughed, "Your just a bad catcher!" He teased grabbing his own piece of bread, "So what do you want to do today?" Shelton asked leaning back onto his elbow

He took the bag from her and smiled, "Let's go then," he told her as he slowly transferred his weak body from the bed to the chair. He sighed as he done it and was weaker than he had ever been in his life.

"Am I?" she asked him as she tickled his side ruthlessly. "Take back what you said or I'll continue this," she added while she focused on her task at hand.

Rosie smiled and pushed the wheelchair to her car. She didnt like the fact that he needed the chair but understood that it had been a year since he walked or actually ate. "What's your favorite treat?" She asked still walking to her car on the other side of the lot, "A frosty from Wendy's, a cone from Dairy Queen, what do you want?" She smiled at him.

"Never!!!" He laughed as he tickled Diane back. She was way more ticklish than Shelton was. He smiled, biting his tongue trying to keep her from tickling him by tickling her.

"Nothing, I just want to be with you," he told her as he tried to get out of the chair and failed. He looked up at Rose with a sad look, "I think I need help." He sighed because a year ago he would have easily done this 20 times over.

"Hey! Stop it!" she shouted as he started tickling her. She gave him a few tickles but he now kept her hands above her head. Her wolf was protesting of being held prison like this but she reminded her wolf that this was Shelton, a person she might fall in love with.

Rosie held in her sigh and just took a large breath, "Aw, so sweet!" She said trying to help him into the car. "You will rebuild your strength, and even if you don't, I won't love you any less." She smiled at him as he slid into the passenger seat. Rosie shut his door and put the wheelchair into the trunk of her dads car. Then got into the front seat, smiling at Collis as she started the car.

Shelton smirked and held her arms above her head, "And what if I don't!!!" He whispered, teasing her letting their lips brush.

He smiled softly at how she told him that even though he was like this, she will love him still. He remembered how he hadn't told her how much he loves her so he did out loud, "I love you, Rosie. I just wanted to tell you that."

"I won't kiss you!" she answered as she turned away from his face. "I really won't!" she promised.

Rosie looked at him with a smile. She reached over and kissed him gently. She missed his lips and she felt that same magic she felt a year ago. Her eyes fell shut slowly.

"Fine! But mows your chance!!!" Shelton teased, "If you won't kiss me then I guess ill have to!!!" He added with a smirk. He held her arms up with one hand and started tickling her again with the other hand.

"Hey, I thought we were going home?" he gently patted her shoulder. He really missed her even though it was like a yesterday just passed for him.

"Kiss me then," she whispered as she surrendered completely.

Rosie got back into her seat ad began to drive home, "We are!" She smiled at him. She didnt know how she was going to explain to Collis her new life, with her dads car, living in her dads house, using her dads money to live. She sighed at the thought.

Shelton smirked, "But then you get what you want!!" He whispered, "But then again, I think it's worth it!" He added and kissed her letting her arms go.

He nodded as he watched the buildings passed by he noticed that there really was no changes. As he fell asleep his last thought was Rosie, smiling at him and telling him she loves him.

She kissed him with wild passion as she took hold of his hair, "I really like you, Shelton. I really do," she whispered before kissing him again.

As Rosie pulled up to Collis' house she saw Shelton and Diane by the river, "Hey, love monkeys!!! I've got a surprise!" She shouted to them with a smile. She didnt want to wake Collis so she let him sleep, understanding how tired he must be.

Shelton held her closer then heard her sister, "That surprise had better be more amazing than that kiss!!" He whispered with a smirk as he stood off of her and helped Diane up to see what Rosie had brought.

Collis was so sleepy that he wanted to sleep here. he opened his eyes to find himself in a car. Oh yeah, Rosie took him home. "Rosie?" he asked as he succeeded in getting out of the car.

Diane smiled and followed to where Shelton pulled her to. She saw Rosie beside the car with a man in it, "Who is that?" she asked Shelton.

When Rosie saw the car door open she rushed to help him, "Careful! We don't want you falling on the ground. She helped him out of the car, "Do you want to sit in the wheel chair, or try to walk?" She asked him, holding him up.

As the man was helped out of her car he was shocked at who he saw. "Collis?" He whispered in disbelief, "It Collis!" He said to her and took her hand, "Come on!!!" He began to ran knowing how excited she would be knowing that he was okay.

"I'll try walking," he whispered as the pain in his legs nearly sent him to the ground. He held a hand to hr shoulder as he did so, "Is that Shelton running?" he asked Rosie as he saw man running toward them with a blonde along side of him.

Diane ran beside Shelton until they were in front of what looked to be like Cole, "Cole, is that you?" she asked hesitantly.

Rosie smiled and nodded, "That's Shelton and Diane!" She looked at him and held onto him so he didnt fall. "Yes Diane! It's really him!" She smiled her eyes filling with tears of joy.

"Hey big guy!" Shelton said to Collis with a smile, "You out of the hospital! Your awake!" He smiled and let him of Diane's hand so she could hug him.

Collis smiled at the sight of Shelton and Diane together, "Never thought you'd end up together," he told them as he opened his arms to Diane who was now crying freely.

Diane went to Cole immediately, "It's really yo, Cole. I thought you'd never wake up but here you are." She hugged him tight and she saw how he closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, Cole," as she carefully extracted her arms from him.

Rosie sighed, she wanted to stay off the topic but she had to tell him. "I'm sorry too... I know who did this to you..." She looked down "It was my dad. I killed him as soon as I heard him coming... I didnt know it was him until the damage is done. And I'm sorry he did this to you." She said softly.

"Rosie, it's not your fault." Shelton said trying to comfort her."You did the right thing." He added as she sighed and wiped her tears
