Wobbly WOBBLE: Pre-Challenge chat

I discovered that I love challenges and this one sounds so fun and involved!

Omg i'm so jealous! That sounds amazing! Take lots of pics and show us? =D

Daphne takes the best vacations!

Our standard for team challenges - 160 pages :)
You'll also get general wobble rules after all letters are covered.

I totally understand this:
◈ Books may be used for one event/task across all Wobble Events
My question is - Can a book that is used for one event in Wobble be used in a totally separate challenge - example, could it also be used in Around the World Team Challenge or a CYOA individual challenge?
Kudos to all the Mods and everyone that is working on setting up Wobble! It sounds awesome!!

Oh yes, it can be used for any individual challenge (or Around the World), just not again within Wobble.

Awesome! Thanks, Karsyn!
Wonder whether L could be leaning tower as a variant of tower teams... Not really sure about that or the E

Btw the reason for my question concerning the numbers of pages read is based on the feedback after the first edition of Wheelathon and TT. I remembered that some had asked that after a certain number of pages their books will count for more. For example if someone reads 3 books in a week with an average of 300 pages and in the same time span another reader in the team reads a door stopper of let's say 600 pages or more, then imo both have contributed equally. I don't know if these challenges will take that into consideration or if I'm too early with my question :)

I see what you are saying.
On Wheel it's different though. A letter is a letter, so hopefully people will gravitate towards shorter or normal page counts, rather than doorstoppers. That'll just be a regular spell-it-out and page counts won't come into play, points wise.
I can say that with Olympics and Battleship, pages do play a part and there are higher points for longer books.
All the challenges are very different and each have their own sets of rules and points, which will be given just before that part of the challenge starts.

I was also wondering about the format of the teams. Like how many teams there usually are and how many members are part of each team. And also how we'll communicate. Will we have to set up our own stuff to communicate? Or will each team just have its own discussion thread in the group?

Glad you are looking forward to your first team challenge. :)
I can't tell you exactly time when it'll be posted since all of us is in different time zones. It'll probably be done by mod that is first online.
As for your other question, I can't give you specific since it depends on people signing up. Usually at the sign-up we ask you how many books can/will you read in specific time frame and based on those numbers we try to make teams even. Since not everyone read at the same speed, teams will wary in number of people in it.
We also make threads for each team where you can talk and make plans or just post your reading. Those are usually up sometime after sign-ups are closed and before challenge starts.

Lisa, I'm LMAO...We are so addicted...
A quick question: I know the books from here can be used for separate challenges. Does that count for quests/book reserves for A novel role playing game?

Hey! Maybe it will be a Little Tower Challenge!

E- maybe Education? Like the University challenge?

Yes. Books used for Wobble can be used anywhere elsewhere in NBRC for other games/challenges including RPG, ATW, and individual challenges. It just can't be used again within Wobble.

It SEEMS like a lot, with all the different components in one, but it's really not. During TTIV, the average amount of books read per week was 50 (per team), so we took that into consideration. We won't be asking y'all to read 300 books a week or anything, it just seems overwhelming!
I'm feeling overwhelmed by it all at the moment - but should be a good way to push myself to read different things.
Have a habit of reading doorstop books that I might have to find a way round while the challenge is running

That's what I call dedication! ...or a really good excuse to pull the trigger on a long debated purchase ;)
When travelling I've gone weeks at a time with just an iPad for Internet and it works great. One time we got a wifi hotspot so we could use Google maps for directions while driving and while it wasn't perfect we got where we were going :)
