Katie, can you try looking in your history? When I did that, it took me back to my signup.
I thought it showed an edit option for you all. I did a test of it, and it only shows up as editable when you click submit. It's gone after leaving there, and there's no way to change it in the settings.
So sorry. It's just messed up for those who signed up in the first hour.

I tried...it's gone. Oh well. :)
all signed up, this is my first team challenge so I'm super excited!!!

Lol, Nanci! That would have been an emergency!!"
Right! Hope we get on the same team. :)

We're practically neighbours - I live in the top of the centre of Australia and I think I am and hour ahead of you :)

eta: And now I notice that some places in Australia forgo DST, too! @_@

I wasn't able to edit my original submission. So I hope you won't mind that I just submitted a second entry. This second one says it's a resub. in with my name and includes the comment that I had messaged to the Mod account.
:-)

I hope there are more Europeans here, or at least people who are in similar time zones and who are awake when I am :D

Is a nightmare in the summer - the NT doesn't do it neither does Queensland. So effectively most of the east coast is an hour and a half ahead of us except Queensland which is half an hour. South Australia is in our time zone but they do summer time so they're and hour ahead of us and Western Australia don't so they are always and hour and half behind us. Makes it very hard at work ringing various offices!

Ahem...It was me... beforeI got sick and forgot... sorry :(

Howdy, neighbor! I just did a bunch of procrastinating research and it looks like you're in one of the time zones that's a half an hour off from most places, is that right? Japan is one of the few countries that doesn't do daylight savings so I've given up on calculating exact differences... "neighbor with an ocean between" covers it just fine. ;)

I used to live in Hawaii which is one of the few states in the US that doesn't do Daylight Savings Time. It was a hassle to remember when the time difference changed to the rest of the US. In addition, I have family and friends in Europe, where Daylight Savings doesn't start and end on the same dates as in the US...

I just made a note in the comment line "Editing my previous response..." Sorry if this is going to cause a problem, but maybe there won't be that many of them?
Thanks for working so hard to accommodate us all!

Tis ok, I just didn't realize it was being updated or I would have continued. I sort threads by newest first, so I never see the first few posts again.

The mods said June 17th earlier on in the thread. :)

June 17th is correct.
Not sure what you mean by planning, but just a reminder ~ it's not a good challenge to have books completely planned out. You'll have to be flexible on what you read, to fit in certain ways (like for Wheel-a-Thon, you'll get a word and have to spell it out as a team, so you'll need books that fit that word).

Done :)

I am a little worried about the 5 month commitment to a book a week, not that I can read that much, but still... I did TowerTeams IV over here, but this sounds more ridged.
What if I can't one week. Or I go camping and don't have internet. It is over all the months of the summer and most of the fall also. Do you have contingencies for that without a person having to let down there team?

There are some parts where page numbers will give more points, but Wheelathon isn't one of them and it is up first for 4 weeks so I think get the bigger ones out of the way now, or save them up for something like Battleship which will have differing points for pages (well, the current draft does unless Tea changes her mind!)

This is more of a comitment than our other challenges and I think it really is important that people know it is a book a week and will be challenging over a long period. It is more for the "challenge addicts" rather than social readers, I guess.
Like with all challenges, RL does get in the way, so we will hopefully have reserve players that can fill in gaps if someone has to leave ; otherwise most of us mods won't be playing this one (there is just quite a lot of work behind the scenes so most of us have opted to not play), but it means that if required, we can also step in as players.
Sign ups will stay open even after the challenge has started, so if you want to be a reserve and not a player from the start, you can just wait it out and sign up later

Ok, thanks Karen.
I will keep considering as I close up a few over in AMMP, and see how I feel after that pressure is off.

Seeing that you're interested... I just checked and we have 122 sign-ups at the moment
