Details for February's mini challenge were released to team captains. They'll be announced to the group soon so we can plan our reading accordingly. Mini challenges are optional, but they're a pretty big deal in UNO — most teams finish all their regular UNO hands each month, so the mini challenge is really where the differences in points will come in!

February mini challenge details have been posted!
Please go read this post and come back here to let me know of any questions you may have!
Edit: OK the link isn’t working from my phone so here is the post: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

For example, the number 6 pretty much every book has a page 6 so would it need to be partnered with something else? Does one book count for all of them? I understand the words pretty well. I’m just confused about the numbers

Title: On a Pale Horse
Author: Piers Anthony
Fits cards:
0 zero - character name Zane
4 four - character name Fate
6 six - character name Satan
Skip - author first name Piers Anthony

For example, the number 6 pretty much every ..."
So the numbers in relations to pages means total pages has to match, from my understanding. So like 300 — a book that is exactly 300 pages would work. For 6, we’d have to use something different — like a book that is 6th in the series, published in June or published on the 6th of the month, etc.

For example, the number 6 pretty much every ..."
Oh, and one task per book! So each book can only count for one mini-challenge task.

Any books finished between now and the end of February can go toward the mini challenge. So, when you're posting books that you've finished within this window, please also post what it can fit for in the mini challenge. If the "reason" you're using is word within text, please post the sentence from the book that the word is in, as well as the page number/location number. We can use books for both our main hands and the mini challenge.
Here's the list of words/numbers:

TIPS FOR FINDING WORDS WITHIN TEXT
1. If you're reading a Kindle book, this is fairly easy to do from a desktop. If you use Kindle Cloud Reader for that book, you can search by word.
2. Use Google Books. Sometimes the book will have a "search inside" where you can search for words. It's not foolproof because it only shows text that's available in the free preview, but it's better than nothing.
And 3. Familiarize yourself with the word list. If you know ahead of time what the words are, that can definitely help when you're reading, from my experience. For example, I might pass up the word vanilla very easily when reading -- but if I know that's one of the words I'm looking for, I find that I'm more likely to pause and take note.

Also I'm reading

Also I'm reading

Yay for 300 pages! I haven't looked myself yet but I know that has been a difficult one for other teams. (I'll probably leave it off the spreadsheet till the last minute so other teams can't see what we've done for that one since it's more challenging...)
And I'm not sure. I'll ask. We're allowed be be creative, so maybe we can use "shape on cover is the same shape as sliced starfruit" . . . but I'm just not sure how far is too far for it, you know?

Thanks for the update!
Audiobooks definitely are so helpful to me personally in getting things read, so I always recommend them! But I know they're not everyone's style.

I'll do some searching for these tonight as well!
