Congrats, HayJay! Make sure to check out the contents of Joy's Magical Chest. Amy has likely pulled out a puzzle and is working on it, but others clearly will be playing a game or two.

LibraryCin | 11685 comments Just wanted to post here that I've finished my current book (review to be posted in the next couple of days - I currently have company), but I will not need a new roll.

My last roll gave me a special advantage to use anytime, so I'm just going to use it next. It puts me forward 15 spaces (the number of years I've been a PBT member).

I will also mark this on my game board, probably once I get my review posted.

Hi Anita,

I'm not sure you have seen it, but I requested my next rolls in comment #96 - I first book I read was 656 pages, and the book I read when I was moved back was 560 pages.

Thank you!

Amy | 12921 comments The actual history of my relationship with the feline, began in the baggage car. Truthfully, I am a dog person, like Charlotte and Sally and Lynda. But I have had multiple love cats in my life, like Cindy, Sue, Fran, and Margie. I’m not really into the love of a cat, even wild dogs have been my preference. I was the first alerted to the idea that pets were on the train, and in the baggage car, when Joanne had mentioned that there was a stop and re-stock where the pets were having their grooming appointments. At the time there was some commotion about the vending machines in the baggage car. What I would call is that I went to go look for a seat to sit and found myself unable to get comfortable, and that a particular gnarly cat was absolutely preventing me from returning to my seat upon the lovely red (read) set of baggage. This is when my flight with the cat who came to be named Gnarly began. It’s true he tested my spirituality. Things were running hot and cold between us. But Joy and Cindy promise to take good care of him, and keep him out of my crosshairs. But then, Joy kept moving too swiftly to the train. And it took a while for Cindy to catch up with the baggage car. Seems I had to read my way out of the situation. Which I did. But now as a Porter, we are all Weiser, and softer and more settled, and a new relationship has begun

Might I add that with all the cat lovers who have sinced lavished love and attention on Gnarly (he even follewed Joy for a while using the train's secret passages), his first and primary love is Amy. He positively pines for her - even rejecting his Meowy Wowwy catnip pillow toys! Which is unheard of! -- when she is away too long.

How could Amy or anyone resist such adoration? Devotion?

Psst! A fresh supply of Meowy Wowwy can be found in Joy's Magic Trunk. Use as needed.

I'm adding a reward to my roll. I'll add it to my logs tonight.

It’s full of all the extras when you didn’t know you needed them, they were there! Theresa and I had a great game of backgammon, and I believe the trunk swallowed my rummy Q, which is my favorite!

Excellent! We DO have that effect ...

BTW in Clerk Level only, you can request your next roll when you are half way through the book for your current roll. In Clerk you do not have to wait until you have reviewed the book.

If you do ask for it now, gives you more time to paw through those suitcases filled with books you brought on board which will involve a visit to the baggage car to meet Amy and LibraryCin, be introduced to Gnarly (who is a great judge of character given his devotion to Amy!), and maybe add a few pieces to whatever giant puzzle is being put together. CGI Tom should be available to help you find your bags.

Then Hubby and I decided to host a small dinner party .. just two friends. We ate in the kitchen and each guest served him/herself from the stove. VERY casual. We are completely wiped OUT! Back in the day we hosted 10-12 dinner parties a year, with 8-to-12 guests .... PLUS at least two big parties with 20-60 people. HOW did we do it??????

Okay ... going to try to get back on the train and finish my current read so I can move forward ... still on clerk level ...

You have it correct, Nancy, but thank you so much for checking. If you have a combo roll (more than 1 die), then it cannot blend with the next single roll.

A related question, which I'm sure was answered somewhere. When I am rolling one die and I get for instance a 2 then a 3, that is an extra swap. Then if I get a 2 the next time, does that go with the 3 for another extra swap, or was the 3 "used up" in the first combination?

Diana Hryniuk | 837 comments Anita, I have a question about the following rule.

If you read a book that fits the monthly tag, you will earn 3 participation points. You must finish and review the book during the month of the particular tag.

If I used a bonus to move to the book that was tagged "adventure", can I still get extra participation points? If yes, would it work for other bonuses as well (bonus for the particular numbers of tags)?

If you read any book that fits the tag in the month of the particular tag, you get the participation points. But each bonus is VERY particularly described. If it says you need to land on it, that means at random (land on it, not move to it). So for the bonuses associated with the number of taggers, that's more strict, and you need to land on it from a roll.

I'll also use the bonus earned on Apr 13 - move forward 5 spaces, so I'll land on spot 24.

Thank you very much for the explanation. Sorry for asking a lot of questions about the rules. I'm translating everything into Ukrainian and didn't associate "land" with random moving only.
But now everything is clear. Thanks!
