Love Top Gear UK! I got so frustrated when an American version was made. It's awful, naturally. I think Uglydolls are so cute. My sister has one (the green one with an X over one eye) and she adores it.

I'd love to drive and OWN a 'cross fire...sigh....these cars look outstanding.......but off course can't afford it not drive it...have reputation of being a scary driver cos I can't read a map and keep getting lost......me finks some people don't appreciate real advanture.....

I adore Uglydolls! I want the big huge almost life size one just because it makes me giggle. Jeero is my favorite.

3. I am a true bookaholic. I have 2 shelves of them that I need to read at home. And, I love downloading a ton of eBooks. Sadly, it would take me years to read them all.
4. I love mangas and animes.
5. I have been in a long-distance relationship for over 8 years. I live in Alabama, and he lives in Spokane, WA.
6. I absolutely love old-school videogaming. And, don't really care for these newest consoles. The newest consoles I own are a NDS-Lite and a PSP-Slim.
7. I have over 1000 dolls in my collection. Mostly Barbie and Friends. But, also some celebrities, such as singers and TV show characters and anime/cartoon dolls like Sailor Moon, CardCaptor Sakura, and Monster High.
8. My musical tastes bounce all over the place. I like all sorts of music in multiple styles and languages. But, I hate Opera music.
9. We have 4 pets here. 2 cats and 2 dogs. Interestingly enough, I named one of our cats Spike after *Cowboy Bebop* and *Buffy the Vampire Slayer*.
10. I have contradicting Zodiac signs. My sun sign, Cancer, is water. My rising sign, Leo, is fire. So, my moods can change quite quickly.

Hi all just joined this group and here are my random, shall we say quirks about me.

1. I have a love for quirky, cheesy 80's movies. I'm currently watching Clue. Some of my favorites are Beetlejuice, The Great Outdoors, The Three Amigos, Ghostbusters, etc.
2. I'm a geek. I proudly wear my geekdom on my sleeve, too. I can discuss in depth anything Joss Whedon, Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, BSG The New Series, Farscape, Hercules, Xena, Buffy, etc.
3. I'm a Disney freak. I love most things Disney. I have trouble with some of the dumbed down movies, shows or characters on their shows, but in general I love all Disney.
4. I'm pretty sure I can walk around DIsneyland with my eyes blindfolded, and get to where I want to go. That's how well I know that park.
5. I have degrees in History and Art History, and want to get my Masters in Library Science.
6. I don't like wearing pants or shorts. I own only 1 pair of pants, pleather that I bought to go to a rock concert in college. I only wear skirts and dresses.
7. I love tea. I have a cupboard full of various teas. I have trouble with coffee, except for the coffee from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. FOr some reason that is the only one my stomach doesn't reject.
8. I don't like the Brontes, I especially detest Wuthering Heights. I think that is one reason why I don't like the 1995 Pride and Prejudice. It is more reminiscent of a Bronte film, than an Austen one. Especially that scene where Darcy walks out of the mist. Blech.
9. I like two sports, baseball and soccer. I used to watch basketball, too, but ever since the hometeam started making dumb decisions about players I stopped watching.
10. I'm very crafty. I do scrapbooking, and card making. I'm trying to learn to sew and knit, too. Also, I cook and bake a lot.
11. I love dance pop music. I'm a big Kylie Minogue fan, and was over the moon when she started touring in the US. I went to 2 of her concerts in Las Vegas and it was the best time.
12. I have a collection of jigsaw puzzles. No one I know likes to do them but me.
13. My dream is to one day move to Cambridge, England. I did a semester in college there and fell in love.
14. I love Bollywood films. I've always liked musicals, and i love how in India they keep this film genre alive. I have an ipod playlist of my favorite Bollywood songs. I often singalong, even though I have no clue what I am actually singing!

9: Having never attended much school, my mum can't read, but me and my 4 siblings are all bookworms, which she thinks is really weird.
10: I have 3 mini bookworms at home, who always want 'just one more story' at bedtime.

1. I'm OCD about reading series. They must MUST be in order. I have book 2 of a series for about 5 years now which sounds great but won't read it b/c I can't find book 1

@Julia2848: My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving as well!! I have never met anyone else who loves Thanksgiving that much!! :)

1. My bed is raised up on two stacked cinder blocks to accommodate my two feet high bookshelves that I have put underneath it (all five of them). That makes my mattress about three feet off the ground, and yes, I use a stepladder to get up usually, but I can jump up on my own, a fact I am quite proud of since I am short at only 5 foot 3 1/2 inches.
2. I take my books with me everywhere, including into the casino and to the bar (and by bar I mean the bar at the local Italian pizza place I go with my parents on a Friday night).
3. I am overly thrilled that it is common knowledge in my household that I am my dog's favorite person (is that wrong of me?). Sometimes he bypasses my parents and goes looking for me when we get home (one time I went someplace and didn't come home with them and he was really upset looking for me).
4. I sleep in a twin bed and have very little room to stretch my legs to begin with (and I think I have a slight case of RLS), and my bed hog pug does not make matters better, so my parents take him out of my room when they wake up before work to give my legs a break. However, I feel overly guilty that he is forced from my room, especially when he sits at my door and cries.
5. My boyfriend just got us a cruise for our four year anniversary.
6. I have this insane obsession with Canada.
7. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was three-years-old. You do not get diagnosed before you turn five, it just does not happen. My college psychology professor looked at me like I was crazy when I told him this and said that it was not possible (he also thought that I just do not have ADHD because I am so focused on school; it is just that school is one of my greatest passions and I make myself do the work, even if it takes me four hours to do an assignment that should have only taken an hour).
8. If there were, God forbid, a fire, home invasion, etc. in my house, I would not leave without our dog and two cats. Bottom line.
9. The thought of ever moving more than a few streets away from my parents terrifies me. There are few people in this world that I enjoy spending as much time with as my parents, and I cannot imagine not seeing them every day.
10. I look forward to the Book Bonanza held near my house each year more than anything else. I go on the $5 bag of books day, the last day, where you fill a brown paper grocery bag full of books for five dollars. Last year I spent $25 and got over 200 books!! I do not think I have ever been happier in my life.

You said you are starting to knit; do you know how to crochet as well? I personally prefer crocheting.

1: I walk around the house with music while daydreaming. I can't sit still while stuff is going through my mind.
2: I'm attracted to people (Who are now some of my best friends) who have a high level of weirdness.
3: I read really fast. I could read three 500+ Page books a day and give you a slightly fragmented summary of each one
4: I really like the shows on Syfy. Like Eureka and Warehouse 13.
5: There is this one commercial on BBC America that I really like because at the end it says: "...Jaunty Headgear of every shape and sort."
6: I can get really philosophical/Logical about the strangest of things. Like time travel or horseback riding.
7: When I find a new game or toy, I usually only really play with it for a few days and then I lose interest.

9: I really want to watch scary stuff, but I can't because I know that stuff will give me nightmares.

Hi Guys! I just joined the group a bit ago! Thought I'd introduce myself with some random quirks about me!
1. I have an obnoxious love for giraffes. People buy me giraffe stuff all the time and by now I have a pretty decent sized collection of figurines and stuffed animals, but for myself I have a giraffe tattoo on my side. My best friend has the same tattoo. We got them on Valentine's Day.
2. I was terrified of the dark until I was about 22...that was 2 years ago but I still have nights where I have a freak out moment because I hear a noise and have to sleep with the lamp on. I never sleep without the tv on though. Still.
3. I am crazy for Doctor Who.
4. I have 5 cats. Koga, Sasha, Lola, Miss Agatha Kitty, and Castiel. Cas and Miss Kitty are fairly new additions to the family. We found them living in the bushes outside of our building when Cas was 4 weeks old. Miss Kitty is his mom. Koga and Sasha are Lola's parents. We're a big happy family.
5. I have seen every episode of South Park like 20 times and quote it constantly but none of my friends are big fans so they never know what I'm talking about and I have to explain it. Idk why I keep making references with them but I can't stop!
6. I love old movies. Casablanca, Auntie Mame, Sabrina, and Breakfast at Tiffany's are some of my faves.
7. I'm terribly afraid of heights.
8. I would love to travel, and feel like I need to do so in order to be the person I want to become, but I've really never been anywhere. I've been to Mexico a few times but just the border towns. I went to Chicago for 2 hours once. And I've been to Wisconsin.
9. If I could stay home all day and read, write, do some diy/crafty stuff, and play with my kitties, but still be able to pay bills and rent, I would in a heartbeat.
10. I'm going to New York on the 31st of August through the 10th of September to start living out my traveling dreams! I'll of course be bringing some books along for the plane ride and the long nights away from my kitties.

Hello to all. I'm new to the group as well as fairly new to Good Reads. I look forward to interacting with others in the group. So...here goes!

10 Things About Me

1- I can not adequately express how much I love reading. I started reading to myself when I was about 4. I never go ANYWHERE without a book, when I do forget, it is always then that I need it most. I read myself to sleep pretty much every night. My sister-in-law is the only person I know who hasn't read a book since she was in school, I don't get that.

2- Until I was in my early 30's I was afraid of the dark and being alone at night. I swear I woke up one morning and it all just went away. Now I love the dark and would rather be alone.

3- I have an aversion to be being late, as does my brother. It's almost obsessive. I would rather be wicked early (of course I bring a book to occupy myself with) than be 1 minute late.

4- In the last year I have spent more time in my local library than in all the years prior. I am on a fixed income so I limit the books I buy.

5- I have been married for 13 years (13 being my lucky number) and until last November we had been separated for 9 years. We reconciled a year ago but have now been separated for 3 months. LOL...it's a crazy life, but it's mine.

6- I'm slightly ashamed to say out loud that my 2 year old niece turns to me before her mother. I live with my youngest brother and his family as a nanny to his youngest daughter. I'm her Nonnie and it's me she asks for first.

7- I have 10 nephews and 9 nieces, ranging in age from 21 years to the youngest who will be 2 later this month. I only recently found out about/met my oldest niece (as did her father). With that addition my brother's 3 oldest will now all be the same age for 8 months of the year. Ralphie turned 21 in October, Kayla will be 21 in December and Joey will be 21 in February. They all have different mothers, weird! And my mother wonders why I didn't have kids.

8- I had a triple-bypass in April of 2010, I was 44. My dad had his first triple-bypass when he was 32.

9- I love crocheting and beading.

10- I LOVE shopping in thrift stores, though I rarely buy myself clothes there (hard to find my size). I buy craft stuff, books, clothes for other people, beanie babies, furniture, pictures, knick-knacks, etc.

Well there's 10, I could go for hours but I'll stop before you figure out I'm not shy. Shhh...

4# I'm stunning. Seriously, I myself get stunned with how dumb and clumsy I can be sometimes. How come I'm sixteen and I too am part of that rare species aforementioned? I don't quite understand.

1. I hate it when I have a book in my hand, and the person sitting in the seat next to me starts up a conversation. Hello! I'm READING! ;)
2. When my husband is out of town on business, I sleep with a light on in the bedroom. Even though I lived on my own for many, many years before him and always slept in the dark then...I don't understand it either.
3. I have 3 year old triplets.
4. I almost joined the Air Force when I was 18. I took the ASVAB but they were going to have me do paperwork when I was processed at MEPS so I was able to freak out at the last minute and not go because I hadn't signed anything.
5. I've taken 2 years of French and 2 years of Spanish and I couldn't do much more than ask for the bathroom in either language.
6. I find large bodies of water insanely calming.
7. I've been known to cry when I'm leaving vacation.
8. After trying it about a dozen times and hating, I've somehow developed a taste for sushi. Like I want it all the time now. Proof positive that taste buds change. ;)
9. My dad says I should have been a lawyer because my arguments tend to be very convincing.
10. When I was in 4th grade, I thought I wanted to be a doctor so I would spend my lunches in the library memorizing medical dictionaries. I did not become a doctor.

1. I'm an organizing freak, yet I can't keep an apartment clean for the life of me.
2. I've never managed to finish an arts & crafts project by myself. I start something with zest and gusto!...and then I lose momentum...ok, now I'm stuck and I have no motivation to continue.
3. One thing my husband and I can't agree on is book ownership. I want a house with a whole room dedicated to being a library covered wall-to-wall with books....He doesn't understand the need to possess so many books that I can't possibly use all the time. Being a social worker, he has recommended book addiction rehab.
4. I hate it when someone starts talking to me while I'm reading. It just seems rude and inconsiderate to try to start up a conversation when it gets too quiet. I'm already participating in a conversation....just not with real people.
5. I went to college to be an archaeologist. After graduating, I realized that in order to make a living as an archaeologist, I'd have to get my doctorate, and even then I might not be able to find a decent job. Too much work with too little reward. So I became a ballroom dance teacher. Dancing is my favorite hobby after all, so why not get paid to do it?
6. One day I'd like to work around books, like in a bookstore or in a library. I even fantasize about owning my very own bookstore/cafe.
7. Ever since I adopted my cat Miesha, I can't stop gushing about her. She's my four-legged child, what can I say?
8. My cat is a quirky, little 2-year who likes to play fetch with Q-tips. It's the only game she'll play. She also wakes me with purrs and head-butts and she likes to sleep across my legs and feet. Plus, she's very photogenic. (Sorry, couldn't help it. I'm a crazy cat lady)
9. I like to scuba dive but I don't have the money for it.
10. My job involves interacting with a bunch of people, but I'm a bit of an introvert. I would prefer to be home reading a book or hanging with a small group of close friends.

1. I'd like to think I'm intelligent, but my grades say otherwise and I'm honestly just drowning in the fear of the future. What will I do with my life???
2. I act (or maybe I am) really snobby and pretentious. I'm sorry.
3. I think about death a lot. Too much to be healthy probably. I promise I'm not suicidal.
4. I'm over emotional and cry over everything.
5. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I love roller coasters, horror movies, and love. Anything to get the heart racing.
6. I'm pretty optimistic. I try to look for the good in everything. It's really disheartening when I realize other people do not.
7. When I was a kid, I always wondered why nobody smiled in restaurants. I still wonder about that sometimes.
8. I'm a very lazy person. And I'm not just normal lazy. I am lazy. I even get too lazy to sleep during summer so I just stay up until 4 AM by accident. Yes. I am that lazy. (I even get too lazy to read or learn stuff that I'm interested in)
9. I want to become friends with every nice person I meet. I've wanted to become friends with at least 10 of the people who commented on this thread.
10. I'm slightly masochistic. Sometimes, I like being sad and would just rather stay sad. I also get the tiniest bit of pleasure seeing a bruise or cut on my legs. (Gosh...I'm weird aren't I?)

1. I think faster than I speak, and it drives me insane!
2. I can read at twice the speed of most people with great comprehension
3. I have 4 siblings, 2 step siblings and 2 soon to be step siblings.

5. I love sleeping, I have serious insomnia so it takes ages to actually get to sleep (even with sleeping pills) but once I do I can sleep for 12-14 hours and still wake up tired. I need at least 10 hours to function
6. I try to read a book a day
7. I love purple( and have had purple hair for the majority of the last year)
8. I prefer skinny jeans over trackpants( although I prefer pyjamas anyway)
9. My little brothers (4, 3 and 6 months) are the loves of my life.
10. I played clarinet when I was about 8-11, but have since realised that I have no exceptional talent for playing music.
