Oh, wow, handsome little dude gots no hair! Hope he has a warm hat, Lee! lol I remember my boys' first haircuts as so traumatic!

I don't have pictures of my kids first haircuts...only the hair. I do remember having the same experience with my kids.Nothing says forgiveness like...Thomas the Tank Engine!
When he was years younger Brooks would hold him and I would trim his hair. He was so on to me from the first snip and kept whipping his head around to see what I was doing. Once the scissors grazed the area under his eye and after that he never let me do it again. I kept a lock of his hair from his first haircut, too.
The Thomas tune is the theme song to many years of my life. *primal scream!*

I didn't buy him that Thomas riding toy, he just sat on it to get over his shock at being betrayed by his dear mummy. It took him about a year to finally get it in his head haircuts won't kill you. He's a doll now in the chair.Has any parent ever wanted to deck the person cutting their kid's hair? That same place had a woman who was a flesh robot: she was emotionless. She didn't say anything to him to try to engage him, and if he squirmed she stood there like an oak tree with her arms to her side. I can't believe this woman was even hired, and I'm sure she's not working there now.
On our recent cruise. It was mighty windy on that first day:

I had kind of the same nightmare when I was six years old. My aunt was a hairdresser and I had beautiful blonde hair down to below my butt... My mom said that we (she, my sister, and I) were going to my aunt's and we were all going to get our hair 'permed'. She made it sound so much fun!
I was SIX, I had no idea what a perm was, and I certainly didn't know she would be CUTTING IT ALL OFF!
I looked in the mirror, when she was done, and cried for days... She had cut my hair to about four inches long and permed it into a BAD granny perm.
I'm still traumatized from it. I sort of looked like this...
Seriously, Glenda, why would your mother think a short poodle perm would look good on a young girl? Short perms don't look good on ANYONE.Carl, thanks for sharing your vacay pics! I kind of want to go on a cruise, but I kind of am afraid with all the bad press they're getting lately. But yours looks fun. Lovely wife!

LOL, all I can say is it was the early sixties....those people were CRAZY!!! sigh.....

Lovely pics, Carl! It looks like you had a great time. Like Tressa, I've never been on a cruise but always wanted to.... My dream is to take one on the Mediterranean....
Nice pics Carl......I have been on two cruises and I hated them both.....captive with lots of drunks and omg the sick people. I just did not like it at all. I felt rushed everywhere we went.
Poor Glenda.....my mom did that to me when I was 12!!!!! I was mortified!
My daughter used those kid scissors and cute her own hair right in front.....down to like half inch....at Christmas just before her pics.
